Signs mention that we can't renew our licenses here, but then... we can if we do an appointment online? The online system doesn't load appointment times properly sometimes, too. I came for a walk-in at 9:50am. As a tip, try and get here before 10:00am and the "rush" because if you find a nice quiet pocket, it's actually a somewhat pleasant experience with a wait ~ 30-45 minutes. Other than the short speak and general attitude / moodiness of all the staff, the queue seemed to move quick based on intercom. There's lines for appointment and no appointment... and you'll be here for a bit. The space itself was also fairly difficult to navigate. No seating room other than outside, and all the staff are situated in the middle, taking up most of the building space. I came a few minutes early before my appointment past 9AM. The line was not long and the staff are very transparent, firm yet still polite. I was given a number and was called to proceed to a certain window in less than 10 minutes. I came here to process my car's title and registration. I came prepared with all required documents (Real Driver's License, bill of sale, car title, proof of insurance) and was prompted to pay the registration fee. Also make sure to not sign the title until you are instructed to do so. Otherwise, you will need to sign an affidavit onsite. They accept cash, cheque (no added fees) and debit/credit cards (for a fee). I was able to complete my transaction within 15 minutes. They have decent amount of onsite parking and is also accessible by Metro lines 212 and 4. I highly recommend going to WeHo DMV for your vehicle registration needs.

They are efficient so even if there's a line it goes fairly quickly. Bring cash or a checkbook to pay the fees. They accept credit card but charge for the convenience. Parking is iffy with some metered spots on the street or potentially more in the surrounding neighborhoods. For the meters, you can use credit card or even pay using app which makes it convenient in case you need more time and don't want to trek back to your car to feed the meter.

Usually you just want to respond in true cowboy form and say "I have my permit right here" and then show them the building you've just designed. Fortunately, at West Hollywood City Hall, far from being boring bureaucrats, the people who work here fun flounders! I have to come in here on a fairly regular basis because I'm low down on the totem pole at an architecture firm and have to deal with getting things approved and whatnot, and I couldn't say more about the professionalism and general lack of corruption going on here at city hall. I mean, it's amazing to think how easy corruption would be if you were working in the building department at a city hall. All it would take would be for one powerful religious organization to throw a little bit of money towards a couple people, and BOOM, ventilation systems that are supposed to make sure there isn't methane build up over the Salt Lake Oil Fields no longer work as intended.
