By that i mean theres workers in there lallygagging through paperwork and theres staff blatantly texting and joking on their phone. No one is any hurry to help customers get in and out. Walked in the door at 9:45am the lobby was half way filled. As I am writing this review it is 1:50pm and I am still waiting. If you were thinking about coming to this location I would highly recommend going probably ANYWHERE else.

I came here to get some paperwork updated and didn't have too long of a wait. There were probably…read moreabout 15 people ahead of me and the line moved fairly quickly. There was only 1 person helping everyone for about 40 minutes. It was weird because 2 ladies were sitting behind the counter just talking and laughing but not taking any customers. I wasn't sure if they were on lunch or what but it was a bit odd. Even still the line moved pretty smoothly and I was able to get my things done in about 90 minutes or so.

After waiting nearly 10 days for an appointment today was the day. As a new resident here in NC I'm not too familiar with directions yet, so I went on and put the name of the place in the gps. Come to find out there was one near my area. When I get there my appointment was at 1:30 Pm so I was on time. Easy access to find parking. When I go inside there is an armed security guard, by the entrance, there was a line with about 15 ppl ahead of me but the line was moving quick. They called the people that had an appointment to the front of the line. I was up next. The older white lady did not grab her name took care of me. She was very polite and informative. When I hand her my documents come to find out I went to the wrong DMV. She quickly took actions into finding out if she can help me or not and she did. Took my documents to checking everything made sure everything was alright. There was also an African American guy next to her, he seems to be the one in charge he was helping ppl fast on the line and very professional. I waited about 20 minutes to get called. I went to the booth number 11. Was a nice lady will soon updated it and get her name the teller. She was calm, nice, and very helpful. Help me with my license and transfer. I'll give this place 5 more stars if I can I'm really happy to know we have a professional DMV in my area.

USPS let's me down and nothing in the mail even though their web site, Informed Delivery says it arrived. Nope, didn't arrive, so what to do? Call DMV, no Go to Post office, no Call York County Property Tax, no. Their web site says they open at 830a so I was there at 815a and already a HUGE line. The doors open at 830a and the line moved quickly. It was helpful they had a staff member at the door asking everyone what they needed and advising which window number they go to. She asked for my documents and I showed her my paid property tax receipt and she directed me to window #3. The lady wearing the mask clearly didn't want to be there. I stood there while she was shuffling papers and on her computer waiting for her to acknowledge me which she didn't. Finally she looked up and said 'do you need something'? Wow, excellent question. I explained in detail what I needed. Then she said, 'well you're going to need your property tax receipt, your current registration and proof of insurance'. I reached in my back pocket and pulled them all out. She was SHOCKED I was prepared. She examined all the documents with the scrutiny of an archeological find and found everything in order. Another lovely experience at the esteemed DMV. Ya'll are getting better but there's still room for improvement in the Customer Contact department. None of us want to be there either.

I decided to give another star after making the cranky employee smile when she didn't like my photo she took. Overall, California State is not bad, waiting in line for 2 hours is a simple task vs the 4.5 hours in North Carolina.

Aware of weather conditions still having some businesses closed but waiting till just 1hr before to cancel something that takes forever to get. In driving to the Concord office found this location open & willing to help. In walking in the receptionist was very polite in getting us signed in, had no wait time when we walked in. After being called back was greeted by receptionist Amelia, what an amazing employee. She was very helpful. She was very knowledgeable in getting everything resolved, took the time to explain everything, just didn't rush through with us. Sure, this location has more great staffing there but truly hats off to Amelia for her outstanding customer service skills they were amazing.

That also included renewing the Real ID as well. My wife had no problem, but when I tried, the message was I could one or the other but not both. Did not make any sense to me the Real ID is a validation on your License. Came down to having to go to one their physical offices which can be a nightmare. Learned long time ago to pick a location in a smaller town if I wanted quicker service. Last time It was in Mooresville NC but we moved since then. You can book an appointment, but they recently changed the requirements to where you could only book one up to one week in advance. Went online and everything was booked out except for two towns, and I could not click on either one. Last resort, show up in person without an appointment. There is a chart on each locations site that gives average weight times broken out by hour. Chose the 8 to 9 am time slot and it was a pleasant experience. Got there at 8:10 and out at 8:30 including eye test and photo for the license. Very pleasant experience. Very professional and would recommend this location to everyone. Great service.
