    During all the hysteria of the overblown media message about this COVID-19, the people that work at the DMV over by Regent Park were extremely helpful and kind and polite. They made it very convenient for us to wait out in our cars and we were called by testing us. I thought that was very cool and super innovative of a government run department.

    Okay.... I was in shock to see it so empty Then the extra got thrown in the game The front staff behaved in a very unprofessional manner. Talking very rude to the customers as we don't know we need to wait outside until called upon. One associate says she couldn't wait to stick it to this one guy because he was so rude to her his last visit... needless to say I'm over the DMV

    SC DMV is the absolute WORSE ! Even supervisors don't provide competency when you need assistance.... It shameful!

    Quick service! Came here to drop off a tag and as soon as I sat down I got called! Friendly staff too! I was there for not even a minute.

    Who else like myself hate going to the DMV?…read more I must say this was the best professional service I have gotten while going to Motor Vehicles. After waiting nearly 10 days for an appointment today was the day. As a new resident here in NC I'm not too familiar with directions yet, so I went on and put the name of the place in the gps. Come to find out there was one near my area. When I get there my appointment was at 1:30 Pm so I was on time. Easy access to find parking. When I go inside there is an armed security guard, by the entrance, there was a line with about 15 ppl ahead of me but the line was moving quick. They called the people that had an appointment to the front of the line. I was up next. The older white lady did not grab her name took care of me. She was very polite and informative. When I hand her my documents come to find out I went to the wrong DMV. She quickly took actions into finding out if she can help me or not and she did. Took my documents to checking everything made sure everything was alright. There was also an African American guy next to her, he seems to be the one in charge he was helping ppl fast on the line and very professional. I waited about 20 minutes to get called. I went to the booth number 11. Was a nice lady will soon updated it and get her name the teller. She was calm, nice, and very helpful. Help me with my license and transfer. I'll give this place 5 more stars if I can I'm really happy to know we have a professional DMV in my area.

    We moved from SC to Florida in August of last year. Since we only lived in the state from Feb to…read moreAug of last year and paid their ridiculous registration and tax fees, we were owed a refund. In September of 2025 I sent our plates , proof of Florida registration and insurance registered mail per their instructions and a letter asking for monies due me. Literally I have called and talked to all kinds of people over these last months , assuring me my refund should take 2 months. My calculations tell me that's November 2025 but apparently they are trained to tell customers anything to get them off the phone and then do nothing. Literally SC is keeping money owed to me and yet no one at the DMV knows how to answer a question and apparently supervisors are non existent or on extended breaks. So if you move from SC before a year don't count on a refund . Expect excuses, stories and non action because in the end you're just not that important to them.

That also included renewing the Real ID as well. My wife had no problem, but when I tried, the message was I could one or the other but not both. Did not make any sense to me the Real ID is a validation on your License. Came down to having to go to one their physical offices which can be a nightmare. Learned long time ago to pick a location in a smaller town if I wanted quicker service. Last time It was in Mooresville NC but we moved since then. You can book an appointment, but they recently changed the requirements to where you could only book one up to one week in advance. Went online and everything was booked out except for two towns, and I could not click on either one. Last resort, show up in person without an appointment. There is a chart on each locations site that gives average weight times broken out by hour. Chose the 8 to 9 am time slot and it was a pleasant experience. Got there at 8:10 and out at 8:30 including eye test and photo for the license. Very pleasant experience. Very professional and would recommend this location to everyone. Great service.

    July 16, 2025 Let us wait outside in the sun until opening…read moretime. Ten minutes after normal opening hour, notified the long waiting line that they would open one hour late. No explanation. No apologies. No offering to sit inside. It's hot outside. Forty people lost 2 hours of their lives. This is repulsive and unacceptable behavior.

I have spent countless hours and days trying to SPEAK to a human in the "It's a GREAT DAY in South Carolina" WORTHLESS DMV. You can NOT get thru on the phone. My mother now lives in a different state and good luck to me trying to get the title switched over! Finally today after bring on hold forever I spoke with TARA. RUDE! RUDE! RUDE! After 43 minutes on the phone I am no farther ahead because she "can not tell me what to put on a title application." NO KIDDING! But the transition on the title from my deceased father to my dementia mother will not process because NO ONE from DMV will help me with the problems I have dealt with. I emailed-NO ONE responds! I call-can not get thru! No live chat. Just fill out the form and roll the dice AGAIN. And the DMV wonders why people are all sitting in their offices pissed off?????? Now I am sitting waiting for a manager to call me back within 72 hours...when HELL freezes over!
