A million thanks to Alyssa at counter number 1 for her 5 Star Outstanding customer Service. My friend Franny and I drove from Reno to Auburn, to turn in my CA License Plates, get an application for a refund since I moved to Reno, Nevada and also get the form to cancel my CA registration. I wanted to do this important transaction in person and I had the pleasure to work with Alyssa in Line number 1. She was kind and professional and her service was outstanding. Having her help me today was worth the 2.5 hour drive over the mountain from Reno. Thank you again Alyssa, I'm so glad I got in line number one, and you helped with my very important CA DMV cancellations with style. Great Job. Julie A read more

Never waited more than 20 mins. Easy parking and so far so good. Best DMV of more than 10 cities I've lived in.

Most of the employees at this location are very friendly and helpful. There are a few who can come across as rude and don't interact as well with customers, but overall our experiences have been positive. This location is efficient, usually with quick service and low wait times, which we really appreciate. We also love the "appointment" or "get in line" feature on the website--it makes visits so much easier and more convenient. read more

So much better than Sacramento ,San Francisco , even grass valley...I mean DMV is known for migraines but AUBURN can be cake.

Wait time wasn't terribly long, very helpful in getting my license renewed since the website wouldn't allow me to do it online. Make sure to have a phone you can scan the check in with as that is how they give you your number now! read more

Best experience I've ever had at the DMV. The staff here were friendly and organized. I got there before opening and did not have an appointment. They give everyone in line a number and then they text you so you can see your place in line. Without an appointment on a Wednesday morning, it took about an hour and a half waiting. Would recommend this location based on the kindness, patience, and organization this office demonstrates. read more

Clearly the staff here must be unhappy based on their gross attitude toward everyone. Way to be a stereotypical DMV Bummer for my daughter who worked so hard to take her permit test just for the manager to say it is not a right to drive. All of this because they didn't specify on MY-DMV that you cannot use a copy of a BC. Even though the wedsite accepted it. Love when grown adults act like petty children. read more

Fast service.. not crowded... Was able to take drivers test and get in and out in under an hour..

I Went there because I had to renew my Real ID . Best service I had with DMV so far. Super friendly from check in to processing my new real ID. Everything went smoothly. I Didn't even had to wait for a long time as a walk in without appointment. I waited maybe 15 minutes and I was done with everything. Highly recommended read more

Quickest DMV in the West!! I appreciate their professionalism and ability to help in complicated DMV/ State issues with ease. They are humans who help make the process easy. Nikki is fantastic! read more

The dmv should have to reimburse us with tax credits for the painful time spent waiting, The wait at these places is ridiculous. If you're gonna have the highest registration, smog fees etc etc in the country, this place should be streamlined, immaculate and no headache. Typical State Ran business. read more

So I took a day off work to register my truck, all I had left to do was get a vin check. Lo and behold, they refuse to do it because it's raining!! I was told they do not do vin checks when it's raining outside. Have they heard of an umbrella not to mention it would only take 30 seconds! read more

Knowledgeable staff and relatively fast service. I came in for a Real ID appointment and left within the hour.

I forgot paperwork needed to get my new ID, but fortunately, I didn't live far away. The clerk put me in as an appointment so when I came back I wouldn't have to wait in line all over again. That was so helpful as my time to get back to work was limited. When I got back, I was called up right away. The nice clerk (know to wear great hats) actually discovered that my middle name was spelled differently than on my birth certificate. I NEVER NOTICED. He was really great at getting my process finished quickly. I know there may be some bad days, but not today! read more

Great location, but it is not open at 7:00am, they open at 8:00am. Save yourself, it was too late for me and the eight other people there a hour early. read more

Tina was very friendly & helpful! Positive experience for me which I was not expecting. The wait was a little over an hour, but they helped a lot of people! read more

Super fast the people are friendly- better than any DMV I've been in CA. I would recommend if you need to do something quick to book appointments here. read more

My hubby went after making a reservation on line. He went in stood in line for five minutes and was in and out in 15 minutes! That's terrific!!! It's unheard of in the Bay Area. Usually times at DMV's are an hour to an hour and a half, if lucky. So kudos to Auburn's DMV for rocking the appointment! read more

I've never had a bad day. In and out. Even if I didn't have appointment. Just can't say enough about them they are so helpful. Thanks guy's for your hard work making easier for me. Thanks Appreciate Lucy. read more

Pretty fast DMV compared to Sac or Roseville. Instead of waiting 3 hours, my sessions was about 30-40 to complete a driving test.

Best DMV I have seen. Very polite, efficient and fast. My appointment was for 10:50 a.m.. was at the window at 10:51 a.m.. Walked out after renewing my DL at 11:05 a.m.. read more

This is literally the best DMV in CA. Every appointment I've had (when I book an appointment online) has been less than 10 minutes. Efficient and fast, staff are very helpful. read more

I just needed to change my address. Went online and the website log in was broken. One month later....still broken. I go in person and was told to go online even though they know the website is broken. This is the worst kind of customer service. read more

This is an EXCELLENT DVM office. The three employees we dealt with were extremely friendly and efficient. They really seemed to enjoy working with the public. It was well worth the drive from Sacramento for registering our new travel trailer. read more

The staff and everything about this place was amazing! I scheduled an appointment to come here to get my REALID done. Walked right in to a lady sitting in a chair by a table asking for my info and check me I to my appointment. Right from there she let me know that Brandon at window 8 was ready to see me. Brandon was such a pleasure to deal with. Big smile along with his side kick Chuck! These two have a sense of humor and made my appointment the most pleasurable visit I've ever had at a DMV. Please note, I live in Elk Grove, and work out here which is why I selected this location. But man o man was I thrilled I did! Best decision ever! read more

Don't ever go to the Auburn DMV they are extremely predjice and disrespectful they picked us out of a crowd and got really disrespectful when i defended myself the lady and supervisor turned away my paperwork even after making us wait to get a ok so i didn't feel comfortable read more

Coming into the DMV with an appointment, you think you would be out within 15 minutes of checking in. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I arrived early for my check in at 1 p.m. The line for appointments was about six or seven people long. That alone took 20 minutes just to check in. After finally checking in at 1:15 p.m., it was over an hour wait. I know that the DMV is never a quick stop, and now I know it's not even quick with an appointment. However, let's look at it from the non-appointment view. The line to check-in was over an hour long... by the time you get to the front to check in with the reason you were there, you are faced with up to a 3 hour or longer wait. You're never going to run into happy people at the DMV... The office was clean, the back wall behind the technicians was decorated with license plates with clever sayings. They had a TV going with ads for entertainment. They were informational facts, movie trailers... and in the bottom right corner your number would pop up. There's no telling how far behind you are as far as the wait goes. This DMV calls your number in a different way. When your number is called it was your first and last initial and some number. I think I like the system better where you can tell how much farther away your number is, vs. the first and last initial with random numbers. All I can suggest is to have your paperwork ready when you get to the check-in desk. If you're updating your ID, renewing your ID, driver's license... Be sure to fill out the correct paperwork before you get to the front. There are forms available to do that. They also computers against the wall to fill out your information. With the lines that long, I would suggest bringing along a clipboard so you can fill your information out while you're in line to minimize your time as much as possible. If you fill your information out on their computers, and I saw it take one particular person 10 minutes to get back in line, you will still have to get into the non-appointment check-in line to receive your number. So have your identification ready, your paperwork ready, and lots of patience. Appointment or non appointment, you'll still have to wait in line for your turn. read more

Great helpful staff. They explained details to me and aided in my dilemma. Barely a wait time and nice to have a service for a state issue

Nice DMV! Hands down the best DMV I've ever been to. Well staffed. Well organized. Nice people. I haven't had to stand in lines or wait a long time. read more

Know why it's called DMV? Because no one would believe 'A', 'B' or 'C' and 'F' would be too pedestrian and vulgar no matter the accuracy. So 'D' to the M flippin V it is. Gotta love the Absolute Irony - not to mention humor - found in THE Tech State of The Globe possessing THE worst poorly tested, bug filled technology and processes driving our mobility. Such a Goatscrew on the information super highway. This place needs an enema. read more

Best DMV experience I've ever had! Did not have an appointment. Went in on a Tuesday in late November. Was in and out in ten minutes to renew my license. Had the friendliest guy helping me. Don't know his name but was mid 30's, backwards baseball cap. read more

Alyssa, at Auburn DMV is the nicest most helpful person I've ever met at any DMV office! I previously made 4 trips to apply for Veteran/disabled plates. Each previous trip resulted in incomplete or incorrect information. Fortunately, on my last trip Michelle ensured I had all the information needed. Michelle is the kind of person you hope for at DMV but never get! Rob read more

I'd give no stars if I could. Everytime I go in here the employees are really rude. I'll be going to a different DMV from here on out.

Maybe I shouldn't let our little secret out...Very surprising how fast and efficient these folks are in Auburn (for a DMV).

I've had one visit and as much as I was dreading it, I have to say I was wrong and very impressed. I went in for Real ID, and to pay a tag, and I was in and out in about twenty minutes. That includes the time it took for me to fill out the web form. I had an appointment for the ID, so maybe that helped. Service was fast and friendly. I received my ID nine days later. It's real easy to find things to criticize, but we should also take the time and give praise when it's due. It's due for my experience. read more

The girl that attended me had an attitude since she saw me, racist towards Latino insinuating I wasn't legal when I am. Basically had to pay the double because she had an attitude and did her work wrong . Told me the money would be back in 2-3 days and nothing they just took my money . Was still mad at me even though she was the one doing her job wrong . The manager it's great but not some of the employees . She didn't even try to call her manager to try and fix the situation . She made me come the next day and still was having an attitude with me when she was the one doing her job wrong . Basically made me pay 65 dollars for a California id when it's really 35 plus taxes. read more

I live down in Sacramento so I normally use the local DMV's. I have always heard this DMV was quicker than most but I have never had a chance to see for myself. Fortunately I had a errand that brought me up to auburn so I decided to swing by and see if they lived up to the hype. O.M.G. I WILL NEVER GO TO A DIFFERENT DMV EVER AGAIN. I was in & out in 20 minuets... TWENTY MINUTES. It would of been quicker if I already filled out the form to get a new license so having to fill that form out added 5ish minutes to my visit. I will make that short drive to save all that time. Also, the lady who helped me might of been the most attractive woman I have ever met. Well dressed, dark hair & a sick arm sleeve. read more
