One thing you have to do while in the area is check out this courthouse, which has a lot of photographic appeal, and there's even a museum you can view for free. The top part is where official things are done, so you will have to go through security to get into the building. This wasn't a big deal, though.

Gorgeous historic monument of Auburn. Here I am for a waste of time restraining order. The gorgeous town of Auburn was worth the wasted time, though. The trees up here are stupendous! Traffic was thick but manageable. Parking was not too difficult. After wasting hours of the petitioner not showing up, I enjoyed a leisure stroll through the free museum the Auburn Court house has to offer. I got to learn more about Auburn in its prime... I feel like these days are not as appreciated as much as they are now. All the hard work that shaped Auburn to what it is today. If you get a chance to check out the courthouse, just know that many years ago, this was my official place of adoption to amazing parents... R.I.P. Dad... Auburn will forever have a special place in my heart.

Update of any comments 1,105 on February 17, 2022. My previous has twenty five votes and has thirty votes. This is a working coutt house. First floor has free admission museum. Second floor is for marraiges and adoptions. That means using example, if I age nineteen unmarried, give my child for adoption, the Adoptive Parents come to second floor to sign any necessary papers and or documents to adopt the child I gave for adoption. Third floor is where prisoners are taken for trial. I really enjoy the museum part.

From my separate City of Auburn review:…read more Auburn is an attractive city, especially Old Town Auburn, which attracts passersby on the highway between Reno and Sacramento with the quaint architecture on a hill flanked by a giant sculpture. Its small-town charm is likely why movies like Rocky and Bullwinkle, Breakdown, Wisdom, and xXx had scenes shot here, but the town relates most to the 1996 John Travolta movie Phinome Phenomin Phenomm Look Who's Talking. The guy who discovered gold here in 1849 was memorialized by Ken Fox with a 45-ton concrete (rebar and wire mesh) statue at the entrance of Old Town. Ken Fox was a dentist able to do this in between teeth cleanings and forcing customers to look at super close-up pictures of their teeth in order to sell "special deep teeth cleaning" by the quadrant. This dentist has more "Great Statues" in the area which you'd likely find ful-"filling". Get it? Anyway, it's right off the highway, so stop there and check out Old Town. Quality/Quantity - What a cool active town, see pictures…read more(and/or their website) of some current events. This might be our new pit stop...? Or a designated location? We usually go to downtown Auburn, so I am glad we came to Old Town this time. Atmosphere - Cool historic town. Lots of locally owned shops. Plenty of places to eat. Walk friendly but not sure if ADA friendly. Dog friendly, at least at the brewery. :) Service - Good, everyone we met was friendly. Price - Depends on where you shop, eat, and drink. Owner Comment - What a great fun town, looking forward to coming back soon when I have more time.

This is for the uninitiated. Hopefully, those reading this review never gets the experience of…read morehaving to visit this center. Except maybe for the mandated jury duty that is. We were here for a traffic violation of the texting variety. Parking was packed even before 9 on a Monday. Got through to security and proceeded to get our service wait tickets via an e-kiosk. It took about 10 minutes before we were registered and told to go to room 30 where the traffic violations were being heard. Upon entering this courtroom, the judge was hearing testimony from a police officer while the "violating" party sat in the table a few chairs from him. Mikes were sensitive enough for testimonies to be heard inside. I figured that those who contested their citations went first as the arresting officer were present during the hearing. This went on for some time, and a 15-minute recess ended the scheduled disputes. It went like a breeze after that as those with petty traffic citations were summoned in batches of three's. I sat with my teen during the proceeding and the judge was thankful for my presence. We luckily got off a forgiveness as this first-time violator was a minor. We spent a total of 2 hrs and 30 minutes overall. Not quite what I planned for a Monday morning, but I'm sure glad it got the result it did.

The courtrooms are a little outdated but the technology is spot on. Staff at metal detectors are friendly and cleaning staff is always super nice. The clerks know what they are doing and it is one of the more enjoyable/modern looking courthouses to visit.
