The techs are professional and polite. They take care of the issue while keeping you fully aware of the potential cost. Full disclosure throughout the entire process. I shy away from calling a "major company" but Hometown Hero conducts business like a small town business. I highly recommend getting over any preconceptions you may have of a larger company and put your trust in them. I have not been disappointed.

Recommended by my real estate agent. Fairly new to area. Made appointment on Friday and was told…read morethey could come Wednesday. Was put on list in case there were cancellations. There were not. Planned ahead and took today off from work -- UNPAID. Had several messages the last few days on how I could track my tech, and when the tech would arrive. Also got texts over the weekend from bot wanting the appliance info I'd already given them when I set apptment, which was weird. Was fully expecting tech today. TRUSTED the company. Got message at 8:07 this morning !!!!! that tech had an emergency and wouldn't be coming. They'd randomly rescheduled me for another WEEK -- on a day I'm not available!!!! They apparently have only ONE repair person??? Is that the story? It didn't occur to them to shift around schedules so they could accommodate folks like me who built their work week around the appointment TODAY???? They think it's good customer service to cancel last minute??? I'm already out a ton of cash because I took today off. I don't know whether this place is good or not, but if they can't figure out how to get a repair person out to a job, if they think it's okay to cancel last minute, if they don't have the thinking skills to see how damaging it is to a client when they cancel last minute -- how the heck am I supposed to entrust they've got the thinking skills necessary to repair my appliance?

They have to order the part. Couple of weeks later the same tech is out with the part. He complains to me again about hating to work on Bosch. The tech breaks the part and they have to do another part order. No word from Mr. Appliance for a couple of weeks so I call them and they tell me the part came in that same day (sure, what a coincidence). But they won't get me on the schedule for over a week. Supposed to be out today between 12-2pm. I call at 2:15 to ask if they are coming, owner Dennis tells me yes. They close at 5. I call close to 5 and ask Dennis again, and he goes on a rant about how Bosch won't pay his guy enough to work on a poorly designed dishwasher. That may be true--but it doesn't excuse the lack of ANY customer service at all. Their own website brags saying "Your local appliance repair technician arrives on-time, every time...". I had to call after weeks of no contact about the part. Then had to call after no contact about missing your appointment. Then had to call a 2nd time that day when they STILL hadn't arrived at closing time. And then to have the owner Dennis get snotty with me and then he even complained just like the tech did about Bosch having poor designs. I'd buy a brand new appliance before I'd let this awful company in my door again.

Wouldn't own up to the error, but offered to come fix the right thing for the cost of that repair. I decided to treat it as a $300 life lesson and pass on having them work on it again. My two expensive and hard earned lessons were: 1.) If an appliance breaks or something you own needs repaired, do a little online research and determine what the likely causes are before you call for service. My husband did a quick Google search and said nowhere did it say that the part Metro Appliance replaced was related to that issue, and 2.) Don't use Metro Appliance for repairs. I understand mistakes. I make them. None of us is infallible. But at least own it and make it right.
