So when I brought in 3 video tapes to transfer to digital, I expected the same level of excellence. When I dropped the videos off and asked for a quote, I am absolutely certain the guy told me $20 each. No doubt in my mind whatsoever. But when I picked them up today, the bill was just over $100. This guy insisted that he never told me $20, that's the price for 5 or more videos. He said it's $25 each plus $20 for the flash drive. He absolutely did not tell me about the extra $20 for the flash drive, either. (And how would I know there was even a $20 option if I hadn't heard it from him in the first place?) In the end he dropped the $20 for the flash drive, but I was still stuck paying a lot more than the $60 I expected. He bragged about how this Is still cheaper than some other options. But it's more than I was quoted and I'm feeling ripped off. I have a lot more videos to transfer to digital, but Star Tech will not be the ones to do it. Or anything else I need. If you need videos transferred to digital, check out capture.com where they'll do SD for $20 each plus $15 for the flash drive. Or go to imemories.com for $14.99 each and no charge for the digital drive. Just don't take them to Star Tech. If you do, be sure to get a signed, written estimate.

They are always courteous and professional, and it is always a pleasure to work with them. As an example, we recently reached out to have a PCIe card removed from a Dell server as we did not have any technicians on-hand in the area at the time. They responded quickly, showed up on-time, verified exactly what needed to be done, and the whole thing was taken care of in less than 10 minutes. I highly recommend Computer Doctor, and am looking forward to working with them again.

It took around 3 weeks to get my laptop back. I paid around 300$ for a new battery & installation, with the idea that I would receive an OEM factory battery. After 3 weeks of waiting, I am informed that I can either wait a while longer or take an aftermarket chinese battery. I chose the latter, being completely fed up with waiting. The battery they installed feels extremely cheap, visibly looking like its held together by duct tape. It has a 2 hour battery life, compared to the 6 to 8 hours I got before having my laptop serviced. And the worst part of it all? THEY STOLE MY 1TB INTERNAL HARD DRIVE!!!!! I was shocked to open my laptop casing to see a blank hole where my hard drive once was. I didn't receive any compensation for the massive downgrade in battery quality, nor did they ever even mention that they stole my $100+ internal HDD. i have since learned how to modify and fix my own technology and will never again trust others. This place is a huge overpriced scam center, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

The only issue we had was an attempt to repair an older cell phone; the phone had a cracked screen, but was still working - the screen is still cracked, and the phone now doesn't work at all. I wouldn't recommend them for repairs, but in buying quality refurbished gear, they are great.
