Horrible office and Horrible service. Took my mom for an eye exam. Her appointment was at 10:45am, I'm posting this review at 1:05pm! They have everyone waiting in the lobby for HOURS! I inquired about her long wait and was just told that others are waiting before her. There's people sleeping in the lobby because the wait is so long. They seriously need to improve their efficiency and waiting times. Please DO NOT USE THIS OFFICE unless you're willing to suffer through HOURS of waiting. DLP, DO BETTER!!!!!! read more

The staff is generally courteous and accommodating, although they could show greater attentiveness to older patients who may have difficulty hearing. Additionally, if DLP Eye Group expects patients to arrive on time for their appointments, it's only fair for patients to expect timely care in return. Unfortunately, we've frequently arrived on time--or even early--only to wait 30 minutes to an hour before being seen. There also appears to be a pattern of billing for repeated basic exams, such as routine eye chart tests, that may not be necessary for the specific reason for the visit. This raises questions about the motivation behind these practices. Profit, perhaps? Lastly, despite repeated concerns raised by patients, DLP has not addressed these issues in any noticeable way. read more

Wow, I've never had an experience like this at a medical office before. When I arrived to check in, the guy in front of me was explaining to the front desk that he'd been waiting an hour and a half for his appointment. That should have been my first red flag. When I checked in, I noticed they were taking up to 15 minutes to check in each patient--most of whom, I overheard, had appointments. I couldn't understand how it could take that long. When I checked in for my uncle's procedure, they didn't ask who was driving him, didn't take a phone number, nothing. When I asked how long the procedure would take, they told me about an hour and a half. He was called in right away, so I thought things were moving smoothly. But an hour later, I went to wash my hands in the restroom and barely had enough water to rinse. As I left, I ran into my uncle, who still hadn't been called. I told him I'd go grab lunch. When I came back, nearly 4 hours had passed since my uncle checked in. The front desk said he was still in the procedure, with no explanation for the delay--just repeated apologies in a tone that felt very condescending. The whole place seemed disorganized, with staff standing around in the hallway doing nothing. There are two waiting rooms, and just when you think you're about to be called, you're sent to the second one instead. Communication here is seriously lacking. I live in LA, so I'm used to wait times, but what was frustrating was the complete lack of transparency. They should've communicated clearly with us so we could plan our day accordingly. I had to ask them to take down my number just so they could call me when the procedure was over--something that should be standard practice in any medical office. Heck, even restaurants do that! Also, the chairs felt like they were 20 years old. Considering people are waiting for hours, you'd think they'd invest in better accommodations. This place gets 2 stars because of the friendly front staff. HOWEVER, Evelyn Perez, O.D., is an unprofessional person. My mother came here hoping for the best based on the commercials she saw. But once she was being seen by the Dr. Perez, she felt so belittled! Dr. Perez was rude and used a demeaning tone. She didn't want to explain anything and kept yelling at my mom without patience. Maybe the place is TOO full and the staff is overworked and cranky. If that is the case, this business would benefit from having FEWER customer. Do not come here! read more

Horrible customer service. Never answers phone calls. Gave me an appt for the following day and they said they were going to send a message as a reminder. Received the message completely wrong day and time. Ended up missing my appointment because they didn't enter it correctly. When I called to confirm the time they would not see me and wanted to schedule me for another 2 months. Im currently a postpartum mom and need new lenses ASAP. Never recommending this clinic ALL DLP matter of fact. They hate doing their jobs. read more

they were so nice! went from the el monte location to this one since it's much larger. the location was renovated 14 mnths ago, i asked the nurse. everyone was so caring and sweet. i was called in quickly and saw Dr. Perez so quick. the nurse who attended to me was so awesome. Dr Perez really listened and cared for my eye health. it was nice to not feel rushed as i have in other places. She gave me the space to explain my symptoms and genuinely cared. one similarity between the el monte and montebello clinics are that they have great front office staff. everyone was so nice and speedy. i do like this location though because everything was nice and the renovation makes the place really fresh. i enjoyed my visit and hope to continue coming here for my eye needs read more

Medical staff are so unprofessional. I was there today for bison exams and the nurse was busy taking abojt locations she would like to work at. Completely disregarded the importance of these test. People vision results are depending on the results. But there medical staff are too busy talking away. At one point, I couldn't see the symbol on test and the nurse snapped her fingers at me, like "over here." I held my composure not to blow up on her . I do not recommend this place , they don't take your care serious at all!! read more

First of all, you have an appointment, you arrive on time. They make you wait 1 hour to be seen then you wait another hour because they dilate your eyes. If by chance you have a reaction with the prescription the doctor prescribed you, and need a follow up appointment, they charge you $170 for the consultation, mind you, they charged $185 for the first visit. By the way, good luck if you want to speak with the doctor, they make u wait the whole day before someone from their office calls you. The worst of the worst ophthalmologist in Montebello, I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! read more

My wife went to this doctor De La Peña for contact lenses and the lady Doctor ended up giving her eyeglasses prescription. My wife didn't know until she went to Costco to get her contacts. When she went back to de la Peña and told them about their mistake they would not apologize instead they told that she had to pay again for another visit. very unprofessional both the staff and that Doctors. If you people value your eyesight this is definitely NOT the place to go read more

My mom had gotten an appointment at 7:30am and yet the Eye Group doesn't even open until 8am? Why would you tell me to come in so early if the appointment is not going to happen at the designated time. Not only was I made but it made no sense to make my mom and I 30 extra minutes. read more

The worst experience in getting a person to talk to on the phone! Once they get your business that's it! I've been waiting for my lenses since February of 2023, I was on hold for 45 min today after asking them to please answer my questions and don't put me on hold! Biggest mistake I made going to them for service. The Doctor is fine but after that we'll still waiting to get my contact lenses If you need to speak to anyone at that place you have to take time off work to go in person. This place is one of the worst medical facilities I have ever had the misfortune of coming to. I brought my father here for an eye appointment. The room is stuffed with people waiting for an appointment. They claimed to be short staffed but no appointments were moved around or cancelled. The staff is rude and don't seem care that the majority of the patients are elderly and in no condition to be sitting here waiting for so long. Avoid this place at all cost unless you want to be here all day! I took my mom for her follow-up appointment and had to wait for over 2 hours to see the doctor. They had over 50 patients booked and only three doctors. Her surgery was scheduled at 10, and they did not operate on her until 3pm. Terrible service! Appt for 1pm and it takes 2hrs plus to be called, then you still have to wait even more in the other wait room inside. No caution for social distancing. The waiting room is over packed with patients. This location needs to learn how to schedule patients where they do not excessively overlap! There are so many workers and yet service is super slow! Either get more efficient staff or a better scheduling sytem. Do not recommend. read more
