I've been going to the Pasadena Office of Acuity for my Ophthalmology needs which are many unfortunately. But now I need glasses to watch tv and Pasadena does not have that service anymore. On Monday they made me an appointment to see the optometrist, Dr. Vivian Chow at 4:30pm on Friday. I was so please to get an appointment so close to my house and so soon. When they called me Tuesday to confirm my appointment they offered me 8:30am on Friday and I grabbed it so I didn't have to deal with Friday afternoon rush hour. Upon my arrival at the Lincoln Heights office which to my surprise only took me about 20 minutes to get to I found the very nice clean office and 2 very kind receptionists, Erin & Alex who told me my wait would only be about 5 minutes and that I'd be about one hour total. How nice and true! Dr Vivian Chow was wonderful, nice, informative, thorough and really took the time to help me understand everything about my test results and the prescription numbers for my glasses. The tech who initially saw me, Ray, was also amazing, nice and thorough in his testing skills and explanation of results. The only thing that was not good was the Optician was not there today which made me a bit mad. Receptionist, Alex called Glendale and said their Glendale office is open for walk-ins who called Glendale for me and informed me they're open today, the optician is in and I'm on my way there now. I'M A HAPPY CUSTOMER TODAY!!! I was looking at the one star reviews on yelp before I wrote this above review and the one thing I agree with is Acuity's phone system, it's awful. 2 weeks ago I was possibly going to be late because I was waiting for a repairman to come to my house. I never reached a human being until 10 minutes before my appointment because I tried calling about 10 times and was on hold a total of 3 hours until finally by using every single phone option available. Their call center is awful. But everything else in Pasadena is fine, parking, restrooms, techs, all good, most of the Drs. Are great. Receptionists are great, now. read more

I've been coming to this office for years and have always had positive experiences overall. Dr. Vivian Chan is my doctor and she has always been very kind, patient, and thorough during my visits. She takes the time to answer my questions and address any concerns I have, which I truly appreciate. Unfortunately, during my most recent visit, the woman at checkout named Alejandra had a very bad attitude. She seemed irritated and was not welcoming while assisting me. Since checkout is the last interaction patients have before leaving, it really left a negative impression at the end of my visit. Aside from that interaction, everyone else I encountered was friendly, professional, and helpful. I hope management addresses this because the rest of the team does a great job and clearly cares about their patients. read more

From the support staff to the assistants to the professional and very thorough and helpful Dr Chou, everybody was so friendly, so helpful so knowledgeable so quick and made you feel very comfortable in the process! After going to another eye clinic in Glendale for years, which was always a disappointment, this was wonderful contrasting experience! Very highly recommend this clinic! read more

I had an appointment with the ophthalmologist on 3/3/25, and the entire experience has been a NIGHTMARE from start to finish. First, it was nearly impossible to even make the appointment--I was on hold for close to 4 hours just to get scheduled. When I finally arrived at the office, the receptionist claimed they hadn't received the authorization from my PCP--even though that form was required for me to even book the appointment in the first place. After I had my PCP resend the authorization directly to them, the office then told me my insurance was not valid. As someone who works in HR and processes employee benefits, I knew this made no sense. Because I was in so much pain, I paid upfront just to see the doctor and planned to sort out the insurance later. My insurance claim was processed and paid on 4/11/25, but as of 9/15/25 I still haven't received my refund for the upfront payment. To make matters worse, the reception staff and billing department were extremely rude and unhelpful. I've been calling every two weeks for the past five months, and no one has provided any real updates or resolution. Avoid this place at all costs. Between the unprofessional staff, lack of communication, and failure to issue refunds in a timely manner, this has been one of the worst healthcare experiences I've ever had. read more

The technician who measured my eyes had me in and out within 10 minutes. He was really really good.

The Dr was so informative and went beyond to explain details are explanation of not understanding she went above and beyond

Friendly helpful efficient staff who actually talk to you without you feeling "rushed" through your visit.

They overbooked appointments and are disorganized. At 10:30 they are still calling the multiple 9:30 appointments.

Everything went well aty appointment. From when you walk in the front end staff makes you feel welcome the text in the back and the doctors are all phenomenal people they take their time with you and I never feel rushed. They are starting to do better by introducing theirselves. read more

Prompt friendly service by entire staff. Wait time is minimal and all steps are explained as we go along.

I'm livid. Why was I able to schedule a Wednesday 8AM appointment, only to show up, wait 20 minutes, call the number and get transferred to a call center and be told oh the doctor there only works Mondays and Tuesdays. THEN WHY DID I TAKE OFF WORK FOR A CONFIRMED APPOINTMENT TODAY???? I got an email and text confirming my appointment at this location on Wednesday 8am. It's absolutely disrespectful and I'm livid. Do better. Ridiculous. read more

Michael Rose is an outstanding Opthomolgist. His experience in this medical field makes his recommendations trustworthy with clarification.

Everyone in the office was very nice ans accommodating. Only complaint is that you don't accept cash. If it's legal tender there is 0 reason patients shouldn't be able to use it to pay for services. read more

the nurses the staff was very nice. I will come back again. It was very clean. Very nice place to be.

I would recommend this eye clinic to family and friend. very professional and kind, treat patients well and excellent, professional atmosphere read more

Had an eye infection one day after having an ophthalmology procedure done here. Called their office a few days later to get a prescription for antibiotics and was told that I would need to come back in. Since it's a two hour round-trip drive for me to get there and then back home, I asked if they could just call in a prescription. They would not do that or even let me speak to the ophthalmologist. I just hope this eye infection will go away on its own. I cannot recommend this office. read more

I never got far enough to see a doctor. I tried to make an appointment as a new patient, and the process was a nightmare. I pressed the "new patient" option on the phone tree, and spent ten minutes clarifying my information with a woman who thought I was an existing patient. The connection was poor and I could barely understand her. She wanted my insurance information, and I explained that my Medicare Supplement Plan doesn't cover vision, but she wanted the plan number anyway. Then she put me on hold for ten minutes, after which the call was terminated. All in all, almost a half hour of my time spent for nothing. read more

My mom needed cataract surgery in both eyes. I'd researched doctors for their experience and whether they participated in continuing certification and came to find Dr. Chen. He's very caring, informative and thorough. He takes the time to explain everything to you and answer any questions you may have. During my mom's procedure he explained what he was doing at all times. She had both eyes done and she's had no issues or complications. Couldn't have asked for a better doctor. My mom is happy with him as am I. The office visits will take you at least an hour but they were pretty streamlined with how they move you through an eye exam. The office people are great. Just know they don't answer phones during their lunch break so if you're calling at that time (I think between 12 and 1) you're not going to get anyone. Better to call them when they open I've noticed. Make a note to yourself that if you need cataract surgery and you're diabetic you will need to be under a certain blood sugar reading which I think is under 200. They also check your BMI because if it's too high you can't go to their surgery center. You'll have to go through a hospital I believe so do be mindful of that. With all this being said I'd recommend Dr. Chen and Acuity Eye Group to anyone that needs cataract surgery. read more

Everyone there is really nice. I felt comfortable and would recommend this place to anyone in need of an eye doctor

The best place to go for an eye exam. 2nd time coming to this place. Everyone has great communication skills. The staff explained well every step of the way. They are very friendl. Dr. Jennifer Dang is the nicest and sweetest ophthalmologist I've had the pleasure to meet. She explained everything she was doing in detail and answered all the questions I had. Dr. Dang made me feel comfortable and was really easy to talk to. I definitely recommend coming to Acuity. I've been to other Optometrics for myself and my mother, and the ophthalmologist are very short when speaking to the patient, rude and easily annoyed if english isn't the first language. I'm very glad my insurance referred me to Acuity Eye Group. read more

Finally someone got back to me ! It only took a horrible review to get their attention. BUT I will say if it wasn't for Michelle and Kevin, I would not be updating this review. Michelle was professional, understood my frustration and made sure I got what I needed (my contacts) to hold me over in the mean time. She also reassured me that my bill was paid in full and to disregard the letter I got in the mail. THANK YOU for clarifying the confusion. Kevin was extremely helpful, reliable and extraordinarily professional. It was refreshing. He deserves a raise! I came in today to pick up my pair of contacts and he was clearly overwhelmed and extremely busy as he was the only one there in the front trying to help over 10 people in the waiting area. For someone to be that overwhelmed and still provide quick, amazing service, professionalism and patience is very rare and once again REFRESHING. THANK YOU ! They both understand how to truly take care and help patients. I can't say the same for the rest but If I could give these two a raise and 5 stars, I would ! Michelle and Kevin are the two reasons for the additional two stars to this review. Although this time around was a way better experience, Unfortunately I will not be coming back to acuity again. Thank you both for making sure I finally got what I needed. read more

I went here for an appointment as a new patient so front desk took my ID and drivers license to copy and forgot to give it back and I forgot to pick them up. After few days, while at bank , I noted I didn't have my drivers license with me. you'd think someone From the office would call to let me know but no. I had to make three phone calls through their call center to get someone to call me back which again didn't happen. So I had to drive 25 minutes to their office and get attitude by the front desk because I didn't have a mask on to get my cards. NEVER GO THERE!! read more

Had an appointment today, show up to the place and its closed. The security guard informed me that they had no drs so they closed. Upset that they could not make time to call patients to inform them, came all the way from Santa Clarita rushing to make it to the appointment in time only to find out they were closed. Very unprofessional I will be filing a complaint tomorrow if and when they decide to open read more

Friendly staff, and on time for appointment , great doctor , convenient location, and a lot of parking , definitely recommended

I was taken after about a ten or fifteen minute wait: the last time had been almost an hour wait!

Dr. Rose is a great doctor. Very professional and friendly. It was pleasant visit with his assistant Hana too.

DO NOT GO HERE. The front desk/ glasses service ladies are so rude. One of them insulted me twice by making fun of how much money I make and then said I didn't pay for my appointment (I did and I had a reciept). I waited over TWO HOURS just to be told they can't see me that day. They could have told me that over the phone and not wasted my time or my money. Don't waste YOUR time. Go somewhere that will help you and not insult you. read more
