My husband wanted to upgrade my wedding rings for our anniversary. We started at DK jewelers because I had no idea what I actually wanted. Bonnie was awesome, she took the time to let me try on everything and anything. She answered all our questions and gave us the pricing on the pieces we liked. I wanted to go to some other stores and see what they were offering as well so my husband and I did visit three other stores. Once I knew exactly what we wanted my husband and I both agreed we wanted to go back to DK's. No other store compared to the welcoming feeling and down to earth staff. So back we went to DK jewelers. I am sure that all of the positive reviews are warranted IF you are buying from DK or having repairs. And I agree, they were very nice when I was in there. HOWEVER, DO NOT take your jewelry to them if you want to sell it. I had the experience that I found others have had...they'll give you a ridiculous low ball offer that borders on insulting. I took a 1 carat diamond ring, 4 other rings, a pendant/chain, and a couple of earrings to DK. And then waited 2 weeks to finally receive (what I knew to be) an insulting offer. Based on another similar review that I read about DK, I took the advice of the reviewer and took those pieces to the Frederick Coin Exchange. They offered me more for JUST the diamond ring than DK did for all of the pieces. In the end, I got more than twice as much for all the jewelry than DK offered. And BTW, this was all accomplished in less than an hour, not two weeks. So if you are buying or need repairs, I am sure you will be pleased. If you're selling...look elsewhere...or get ripped off. read more

Today I visited DK Jewelers for the first time. I was in awe upon entering. The establishment is very inviting, has great lighting and displays, very clean, has unique items you won't find elsewhere, has wonderful staff that is eager to please and are very knowledgeable, has jeweler on sight, appraisals offered once a month, etc. etc. DK Jewelers is like no other. I will recommend them to anyone. Merri was a wonderful woman to work with to get my custom-made engagement ring created. She was extremely willing to go the extra mile to make sure i was happy! My Fiance said yes, and the first day they were open after the holiday they resized her ring that very day (no 2-week wait like other places we had called). I am sorry to say but with all the glowing remarks I've heard about this jeweler, my experience was less than desirable. I called to see if my repair was ready and was told I would receive a callback shortly. 45 minutes is not what I call shortly. I decided to call back against my own best judgement and was put on hold. What unnerved me the most was when I brought my item in. Although the cost to repair my jewelry was well within an acceptable range, I questioned to myself why they wanted to know the value of the item and of course looked closely to see if the diamond was real or not. Call me paranoid, but I don't trust jewelers for the very reason they can replace your valuable diamonds with something fake. Sorry for the disappointing news but be weary of when people give glowing reviews and it doesn't always turn out to be the way YOU expect! read more
