We're from San Diego and had to plan a long-distance wedding in Carmel. Based on everyone else's recommendations, DJ Willi was our go-to guy for our wedding last weekend and he was beyond amazing. From start to finish, DJ Willi was always on hand to answer any questions or provide any help that he could. We had MAJOR issues with Rocky Point Restaurant which was our venue (see my Yelp review and also TheKnot.com), and DJ Willi even offered to help us find a new venue, should we have needed an emergency last minute change. He is hands down the best DJ for any event. From the pre-ceremony music to the very last song on the dance floor, everything was perfect. He was punctual, outgoing, well-dressed, and so polite to all of our guests. Not only was he beyond professional, but his assistant took some of the best candid photos of the night. Our guests are still raving about how fun he was and how all the music perfectly flowed from one song to the next. From old school motown, throw-back 90's, to current top songs including reggae and tropical house, DJ Willi made sure there was music that suited everyone's age range, all played at the perfect time throughout the day and night. No one wanted to go home and all begged for another hour of dancing. I'm not kidding, there is zero reason to hire anyone else other than DJ Willi. If he were here in San Diego I'd make sure he was hired by anyone and everyone I know. My family used Dj Willi services for a sweet 15 this past weekend. Willi has done a good job in the past but unfortunately he couldn't make it and sent a replacement. WORST DJ EVER!! The replacement was rude, was smoking marijuana and dismiss us when we would go and suggest different music to play. Once I was engaged the one decision I didn't have to make was who would be the DJ. There was no question that we were going with DJ Willi. I have known him for years, going to various events where he has DJ'd and his DJ'ing skills are indisputable. I knew that I didn't have to worry about DJ Willi picking the right type of music, or knowing how to read a crowd. As soon as we booked him for our wedding he sent us documents with templates to help us outline the music for our ceremony and reception. We met with him twice (early in the planning process, then a week or so before the wedding) to review details and MC'ing notes (yes he also MC'd the reception!) We found DJ Willi very late in our wedding planning, but we are both so glad we did! At first, we truly considered just renting equipment and playing an MP3 with our favorite songs. We thought it would save us money. At the last minute we realized this was far more complicated than it appeared, and we starting researching local DJs. I must admit, I truly hated the idea of a DJ, but DJ Willi was so amazing. He met with us in advance, last minute, at the venue, so we could explain everything we wanted and show him the venue. He communicated with us non-stop to assuage my fears. We sent him a list of music we liked, and a list of songs we did not want to hear, and he took all of that into consideration when creating our playlist. We had DJ Willi play our favorite songs during dinner, and he was even able to find some pretty hard to find songs! He kept the music at an appropriate level for ambiance. Then, for our reception, he really made the night. His setup was seamless and fast, before any guests even noticed, the room was ready. He introduced us for our dance, and played the perfect selection of songs for the other first dances. As the party really got started DJ Willy had some great music for the kids to dance to, and took requests to heart for all of our guests. In all, DJ Willi comes highly recommended from us. The cost was certainly not as high as I feared, and he was worth every penny because he takes pride in his work and is a consummate professional. We used DJ Willi's services for a corporate event at an aquarium. We had a complex set up - not only did DJ Willi have to provide the DJ booth in one area, but we needed a keyboard, mixer, microphone and speaker in another area (to work with the venue's projector), and uplights in the third area. When I spoke with him beforehand, he knew exactly what was needed for each of the setups (and did his homework by walking through the venue beforehand). He made the night's AV completely stress free. Because of the venue, the set-up timing was very tight, but he got everything done in time and it worked perfectly. And then there was the dancing. I don't need to say it because all the other reviewers did, but I'll mention he had a large group dancing the whole time and people LOVED his beats.
