Booked DJ Sun 4 months before a 50th birthday celebration. He responded immediately and I scheduled a call to discuss what was needed. He was extremely personable and I could tell he had a lot of experience in the industry. Forward to two weeks before the event and he had prepared questions to make sure the day went smoothly. I provided several playlists for him the day of the event. Sun showed up to set up about 2 hours before the event to make sure his equipment was up and running. His system sounded amazing! During the event, he was able to read the room and adjust the music to the mood of the party and played all of the songs I recommended. More mellow tunes for the dinner portion of the party and was able to facilitate the crowd. His assistant was amazing too! They were open to any suggestions and took requests from guests. They kept the vibe and had everyone on the dance floor, including the kids! Bonus was a group photo that they took so we could have an incredible memory of the night. We got SOOOO many compliments about the music, the job Sun did MC'ing the speeches and general evening, and, of course, the bongos!! Sun was a pleasure to get to know in the months leading up to our wedding day, and he did an amazing job of running with our suggestions to make for an amazing dance party!! Multiple people in our video guest book referenced how amazing the music was, as did folks throughout the night and in the days after. He played every one of our "Must Plays" and kept the energy going the entire evening -- from the moment he kicked off the dance party after calling everyone up for a group photos, all the way through the end of the night. He also seamlessly transitioned from "hits for all ages" to start the evening to music catered more toward folks in their 20's & 30's as the night went on. About a week before the event we realized we needed the music to start half an hour earlier than anticipated, and he adjusted his schedule at no extra charge. Sun was hands down the best part of my dad's 70th birthday party! From start to finish, the music was spot on for the vibe we wanted. He mixed in all the classics from the 60s and 70s with some newer songs that even got the younger crowd dancing with the older folks --and trust me, that's not easy with my family. My dad couldn't stop smiling hearing his favorite songs, and even my super shy cousins ended up on the dance floor somehow. I've hired Sun for many events and venues over the past 7 years. I've hired him as a DJ and also as a percussion player and he is really awesome at both! So on top of being a professional DJ that knows how to read the crowd and keep people dancing all night he also is an amazing musician who plays percussion over the beats which adds an extra cool element to the event and keep the crowd entertained.
