Worst experience with a DJ I have ever had, and unfortunately, this was for my wedding. Prior to my two day wedding events, I met with DJ Vic and explained to him everything I wanted for my wedding and the henna night (one of the events prior to the wedding day Indians celebrate). Closer to the wedding, we had spoken on the phone and I had emailed him everything I wanted, being vey specific. Everything was fine until the hour before my henna night. An hour before my event started, DJ Vic called me, and told me that I would have to pay extra "as per contract" states if equipment has to be carried up and down stairs, I have to pay extra. Mind you, there was NEVER a contract, and this had never been brought to my attention during our physical meet up, phone conversations, and/or emails. I had let him know the venue a good couple of months before the event, and he even stated that he had done events in this venue, so he should have known he would have to carry equipment, and had he let me know about the extra payment, it would have been fine. When he told me about this one hour before my event started, I informed him there was never a contract and I had never been informed about this, to which he apologized and admitted it was his fault. When the equipment was brought and he was preparing, he was yelling and cursing at who I assume was his assistant. It was so bad that the people who run the venue came to me in the makeup room and asked me if I wanted him out because his foul language and hostility was not welcomed. My makeup artist, who happened to know him, had to go out and talk to him for him to calm down. During the entire event, he was rude, made rude remarks to my guests (ex: "I have been doing this for eight years, I know what songs to play"), he was unhelpful, and the songs he was playing were TERRIBLE. Even the entrance song I had spoke to him about I wanted he played the wrong version. My guests came to me the next day and told me how rude he was to them and he is the worst DJ and asked me why I hired him. Unfortunately, I had already hired him for my wedding and since it was the next day, I was not able to replace him.
The next day I spoke to him and asked him what happened, to which he responded "If five people come to me and ask me to play five different genres of music, what am I supposed to do?" Um, excuse me, aren't you the DJ? It is your job to take requests and to enable the guests to feel comfortable to request songs and to set the mood to have a good time. I also told him he played the wrong version for my entrance to which he denied it, I showed him the email that clearly stated the song and played and even showed him a video of my entrance a family member took, he immediately became defensive and told me he does not need the money and doesn't have to be the MC. Not ONE guest gave a positive review about him He is arrogant, rude, disrespectful, and really lousy at pumping up the crowd because his attitude kills the mood. I feel bad for the people who work with him who have to put up with his condescending, sour personality. I hired him because he was one of the few available DJs during the time for my wedding and I really regret it and wish I had gone with another DJ. If you want to have a good time, want your guests to feel comfortable and want a PROFESSIONAL to do their job, steer away from DJ Vic. read more
