My now husband and I met with Queen City DJs as they're the preferred DJ for our venue. Our first…read moremeeting went well and we booked with Brad, the owner, because he gave an impression of professionalism and the tools he uses seemed like they would avoid miscommunications in song selection, timeline and general flow of the party. We are extremely dissatisfied with the service we received the day of our wedding. The problems began before our wedding which we planned with all vendors on starting at 2:15pm. As we were getting ready our day-of coordinator told us Brad said "I'm not going to start then because I have 2:30 on the schedule and I wasn't paid for that time." Our coordinator came to us and explained this so we tried to make the best of it by getting more photos before. After the fact, we confirmed that our DJ contract said 2pm-8pm. Brad denies ever saying those words to our coordinator. We know that the day after our final meeting with the venue, Brad had a meeting with them to go over their upcoming weddings, ours included. We met with Brad after that. If there was a time discrepancy why was nothing said to us to avoid the whole issue? Next, my husband and I had a custom song made for our aisle music, a beautiful Studio Ghibli medley that is long enough for the entire processional with a specific section of the song meant for the bride to walk at 3 minutes 45 seconds. We had a link to this song in 3 separate sections on the Vibo App, including the timestamp, months prior to our final meeting. On our big day I was rushed down the aisle to the wrong section of the song. I noticed it right away and honestly it took away the magical feeling I was looking forward to for so long. No bride should ever have to feel this way on their wedding day, they should get to enter their wedding the way they dreamed. The utter disappointment we feel, even a week later, still brings us to tears. When we confronted Brad about it, he said he should have jumped to that section of the song and that he didn't know the venue was going to open the doors to my reveal. The venue and our wedding coordinator both said that Brad gave them the cue to send me down the aisle and that neither had heard from him that there was a specific cue for me. Brad denies that he gave the cue and shifted blame to our coordinator and venue. He also expressed that typically people have separate songs for parents, bridesmaids and groomsmen, and for the bride. So it also felt like he was blaming us for not following the norm, despite never expressing that our music would be a problem. We wouldn't have booked with him if we knew he couldn't handle the request. Finally he said he did no wrong because he played the correct song. Lastly we were in utter shock when our best woman and man and nearby guests told us what the DJ had said when telling them how to use the microphone for the dinner toasts. They told us Brad said to hold the microphone like you're giving a "blow job." This is extremely unprofessional and we do not take it lightly how uncomfortable it made our guests feel. When confronting Brad, he denied he said that saying he holds himself to the utmost professionalism. He can claim they are twisting or mishearing his words but we had several individuals tell us this unprompted. Despite some positives, like accommodating changes to other song requests and announcements made in the final week, these actions didn't make up for the major issues. We're unsure how all our last minute requests were met but things that were communicated months prior were missed. Brad deflected accountability and pointed out that we seemed to be enjoying ourselves but we didn't want to argue with him that day as we were trying to be good hosts to our guests and not further sour our own day. In all, we are extremely disappointed with Brad's services. We are writing this review so that no other couples have to experience what we did. Again no bride should ever have to hear about such unprofessionalism from their DJ or feel like they can't have the aisle music they dreamt of.

We booked The Music Concierge in October of 2022 (and paid in full) for our wedding in April 2023. We were assigned a DJ named Matt, and were excited because of all the services offered, along with "unlimited phone consultations". We waited for some time to hear from Matt, and didn't think much of it because we had so much time. However, a couple months before our event, we started reaching out to our DJ Matt and never heard anything back - multiple emails and phone calls went unanswered. We finally managed to reach out to William, the owner of the company, who was apparently as mystified as we were and had no idea Matt had not been communicating with us (great oversight!) and informed me that this particular DJ is a singer in a band that was on tour... cool story. William said all the right words and apologies, but we got the feeling that he really couldn't care less. He halfheartedly suggested a competitor and tried to connect us with them, but this suggested person has done 3 weddings in the past (according to the guy's Facebook), so suffice it to say we didn't trust The Music Concierge, William, or anyone he recommended (especially someone so new). This was a WEEK before our wedding date. A. WEEK. OUT. We ended up reaching out to some friends and our wedding coordinator, who managed to find us a very reputable replacement for only a couple bucks more. We booked, had the contract, and paid in the space of 24 hours (and on a Saturday!). The best part of the interaction with William and The Music Concierge was how fast he issued our full refund. I know good companies can make mistakes like this, but we were completely let down by these folks, and didn't feel they really wanted to make it right. Will never use or recommend this company ever again, and if you are in the market for a DJ, I would give some serious second thoughts before booking with The Music Concierge. They put us in a really bad position, and there are many other reputable companies out there.

They were by far the most professional and personable in the initial meetings, and although they were a little pricier than we were hoping to spend it ended up being worth every penny. Once signing the contract we were immediately given access to an app called Vibo which was our one stop planning shop! In the app we answered somewhere around 100 questions about our wedding day. I know it sounds excessive, but it really helped us in our planning to think about things that wouldn't have come up naturally and also ensured we could give a complete and total picture of the day to our DJ. We were also able to input song choices for all the special moments in the app, as well as share a link to enable guests to add their requests which was fun! We were assigned Alex Eveslage as our DJ and he was AMAZING! We met about a week prior to the wedding and discussed the details from A to Z including timeline and outline for the night. Alex ensured that the whole evening flowed smoothly and perfectly matched the vibe of our crowd. Our dance floor was packed the entire time open dancing was going on and our guests couldn't stop raving about how much fun our wedding was! Alex continued to check in with us throughout the night to ensure everything was going well, and he even indulged a ridiculous special request from me. Can't recommend PartyPleasers enough - make sure to ask for Alex when you book!

I initially worked with Jeff Heidelberg, and unfortunately, communication was very frustrating. Multiple calls and emails went unanswered, and with the wedding getting closer--about a month out--it definitely added unnecessary stress. Thankfully, everything turned around at the right time. During a meeting at Manor House, I found out Party Pleasers was onsite and had the opportunity to connect with Tasha. She was wonderful from the moment we spoke--responsive, professional, and genuinely invested in understanding our vision. She followed through on everything she said she would do and took the time to meet with me to ensure we were aligned. The results reflected that care. The atrium looked exactly like the vision we had provided--it was beautifully executed. The head table was also done very nicely and fit the overall look perfectly. While I don't believe the uplighting was fully in place as expected, what was done still looked good and added to the ambiance. The photo settee wasn't quite what we originally envisioned, but it still worked well in the space. The large repurposed floral pieces from Robin Wood Flowers really helped bring that area together and created a beautiful effect. Overall, while the beginning was stressful, Tasha truly turned the experience around and made sure the final outcome was something we could be happy with.

Greg is exactly the kind of person you want to be part of your big day. I booked him about a year out from our wedding, so make sure to plan ahead when you're booking with DJ Butlers! We had a timeline run-through meeting about a month out from the big day, where we also discussed what songs we liked/didn't like for different parts of the reception. My husband is a very big music guy, and Greg really impressed him with some of his recommendations and industry knowledge. We had a live band playing during the ceremony and cocktail hour, but Greg still made sure to arrive a few hours before the ceremony to ensure everything was set up and ready to go -- and even to provide a microphone for our minister. During the reception, not only was Greg rocking it with the tunes -- but he also made sure to check in with my husband and me periodically to see if we needed another drink, or anything else. Greg also really knows how to work a crowd -- with a careful balance between staying on schedule and making sure everyone is enjoying themselves. We truly believe Greg was a perfect addition to our team of vendors -- and he really was so much more than a DJ. We cannot recommend him enough -- and can't thank him enough for all of the hard work and attention to detail he put into our special day.

The owner Fred Caldwell was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly with our first phone call! He gave us his whole rundown of what to expect and what they do. He assigned Jemal Potter to be our DJ, and Jemal was INCREDIBLE! I 100% believe I got the best Dj they offer! He kept it exciting and lively the whole time! He was hilarious, extremely friendly and attentive! If we asked for anything he would do it immediately with pleasure! Everyone still, 2 weeks later, tells me how amazing he was! If we have any future events I WILL be hiring him again! He's stuck with us! So, thank you DJ Butlers, Fred, and of course Jemal for being our entertainment for our wedding day! I was then a mean girl because I was trying to figure out who was responsible for a lost hour of the night, "a mean girl who was trying to extort money" even though I hadn't asked for a refund, I was just trying to figure out if the DJ or Venue was responsible. During the prep phase, Mark did a great job setting our expectations for how the reception was going to go, incorporating the things we wanted, and giving us some honest feedback about some of our song choices. I had a song I had written which I wanted to sing and play on the guitar as a surprise for my wife. Mark went out of his way to find a time that we could meet at the venue without her knowing, to figure out how I could plug in to the sound system and do a sound check. On our wedding day, Mark was very present, making sure we were in sync on what was happening during the ceremony. He got everybody's name right during the entrances (surprising how many DJ's I've seen get that wrong!), and the performance of my song went off without a hitch. He kept the energy high throughout the reception, and kept people on the dance floor right up until the end. The sound system sounded amazing. Overall, we had a great time, and would highly recommend McFadden, especially if you're getting married at the Syndicate.
