Preston is the BEST out there!!! From our first conversation, he was incredibly kind, professional, and patient--answering my millions of questions with total ease. He is super organized and has even the tiniest details thought out ahead of time, which made us feel so confident going into the big day. Our wedding itself was absolutely incredible. Preston kept everything running smoothly and made sure the timeline stayed on track without ever feeling rushed or forced. When it came to the reception, he kept the energy up, the dance floor packed, and the vibes so good all night long. He's also super flexible--here's just one example: the morning of the wedding, my dad asked if we could switch the father-daughter dance song to something different than we'd originally planned. I texted Preston and he instantly reassured me we could make it happen. My dad was so surprised and touched to hear the new song--it meant the world to us. We also changed around a few elements of the reception last-minute, and Preston rolled with it without missing a beat. He also provided a photobooth for our wedding, which our guests absolutely loved! It came with unlimited prints, a full table of fun real props (not just paper on sticks), and at the end, we received everything--gifs, photos, and prints--all neatly organized and separated. Such a fun bonus that made the night even more memorable. I can't recommend him highly enough for weddings or any event where you want the music and energy to shine. A quick note to other brides: one of the best things we did--and something I highly recommend--is adding a dedicated table for your vendors. It's such a small gesture, but it makes a huge impact. These incredible people (like Preston!) are on their feet for hours making sure your day goes perfectly, and giving them a seat and a real meal is a thoughtful way to say thank you. Preston was an amazing DJ!! As someone who takes great pride in music (I am always the one curating playlists and DJ-ing for road trips/parties), I was really particular about who we hired for our wedding DJ. Our photographer (Allie Lindsey) recommended Preston and we could not have been happier. He handled audio from ceremony to reception, and it was seamless. Preston sent us a Google Doc a few months before our wedding, which was very detailed and asked us what music we'd like for events like walking down the aisle, cake cutting, and also dancing. Preston was always very patient with me (and trust me, I had a lot of requests and questions). I have a lot of opinions on what music is played, so I listed a bunch of must-play songs but told Preston to remix and play whatever other songs would fit our vibe. And he did that perfectly!! We can honestly say we have never been to a wedding where the dance floor was packed start to finish the entire time, but happy to report that ours officially broke that streak! We have gotten so many compliments on how amazing the DJ was. Music was on point all night and he was able to perfectly read the crowd to keep the party going! Preston was an amazing DJ! Music was so important to us for our wedding. It's a big part of who we are and I personally love to dance, so we needed someone that could keep the party going with our music aesthetic, more dance remix/EDM. Preston did not disappoint! The music was so spot on for every part of the wedding and people came up to us and told us how awesome the music had been throughout. Even the staff at the venue who has worked a lot of weddings told us it was the best music they had experienced. He was able to play a wide variety of music genres. Our ceremony was all indie/folk, cocktail time was old jazz like Ella Fitzgerald/Louis Armstrong and reception was dance remix/EDM. It was PERFECT and really showcased the music we love as a couple best. He also surprised us with special lighting that made the barrels look so cool! It was so incredibly thoughtful and unexpected! Lastly, Preston was our MC too and did a great job at making sure the event kept to schedule and announced things with such class/taste. I feel like that has to be noted because I'm sure we've all experienced MCs that make it about them, are cheesy, etc., and I just think it's important to point out because he was perfect. Our wedding coordinator even came up to tell us how professional and wonderful he was to work with and how he was so on top of it on our wedding day. She had never worked with him before but now he's on her preferred vendor list! Also, I want to note how incredible Preston was leading up to the event. Before we even booked him and were just getting quotes, he asked to schedule a call with us to get a feel for who we are, what we were looking for, etc. This felt so much more personal than just emails I received from other DJs or DJ groups that sent you a quote and a request for booking. When we chatted with him on the phone, we immediately felt like he understood us and what we wanted to achieve at our wedding. He was super responsive in all of our correspondence and a few weeks before our wedding, we even met up with him at the venue, did a walk-through with him for set-up and chatted more about what the timeline looked like, our plans, vision, etc. We really appreciated that he went out of his way to make sure he was as prepared as possible and that we felt super comfortable for our wedding day. We cannot recommend Preston enough! Your DJ is one of the most important vendors for your wedding day (or any big event!) and you want to ensure that you have someone you can trust and that can create the right vibe. So wedding planning is a new level of hell you never knew existed. I was lucky enough to be referred to Preston by my lovely wedding planner Hannah Smith. I met up with Preston & he dropped this knowledge bomb on me, "it's your wedding, you can do whatever you want." MIND BLOWN. That said, he's not going to let you flail about and have some sort of musical disaster, but if you don't want a money dance, there's no money dance. He was highly recommended by our wedding photographer, who said he knows how to get a crowd going on the dancefloor and keep it up the entire night, and she wasn't lying. There were a couple of things that were really important to my husband and me while looking for DJ's -- we wanted someone who wasn't a 'cheesy' MC who would be on the mic the entire night, and also someone who knows how to mix both Persian and American music. Preston knocked both out of the park. He was absolutely one of the best decisions we could have made for our wedding. I wish we had partied longer! I was so wrong about the music selection and it's not easy for a bride to admit that but it's the truth. Preston introduced me to idea of a "do not play" list which I didn't even knew existed! It was awesome! He also took record of songs we did want to hear whenever I thought of them. The list got longer as the wedding date came closer and then the day was here. My heritage is Mexican with family in California and my husbands is Irish/Norwegian from Boston. It's an eclectic bunch. During dinner and first dance he was very commutative that we were able to read our signals and thumbs up. Preston was getting the requests and he kindly let them know songs that are boycott or he would play requests at the appropriate time. Eventually I had to surrender my request to not play Spanish music which I originally did so to keep the wedding neutral and simple. I ask Preston if we could take requests from only two relatives and I asked them to not over abuse him. I took a quick bathroom break and when I returned everyone was jammin' to Cumbia. It was just amazing how everyone including my husbands side of family came together on the dance floor. Preston DJ'd our wedding at the La Jolla Woman's Club earlier this month, and we couldn't have been more pleased with the job he did. Throughout the wedding planning process, Preston was responsive and pleasant. He gave us a very clear sense of his DJ style in our initial conversation that turned out to be very accurate (and exactly what we were looking for). He was clear that if we wanted an over-the-top corny DJ to hog the microphone, he probably wasn't our guy, but that he would keep the party going and would be as involved as we wanted him to be. True to his word, Preston did an awesome job of playing the style of music we wanted without being hokey. Preston reduced the stress of wedding planning. He didn't push for any specific songs, but did make some helpful suggestions that ended up being better than our initial ideas. Example: our initial choice for grand entrance song was bad, and Preston suggested a few others that would likely be better from the list of songs we had given him. I appreciate that he was willing to weigh in without being pushy.
