At first I didn't think I needed a Day Coordinator and I almost messed up big time by not booking her services. There were mishaps that happened the day of my wedding but I didn't deal with any of them. She took care of it all and even went to bat for me when a vendor messed up big time. I am so thankful for her and Jake. Speaking of Jake, he killed it with the music. I had a very particular vibe we wanted and the selection of music was going through eras as the night progressed. He pulled it off flawlessly. If you're reading this and debating on them over others just pull the trigger with these two. You will be glad you did when all is said and done.

I was originally only looking for a DJ at the time when I found Jake and Jenn and I can honestly say I couldn't have done it without either of them! Jenn is so sweet, smart, and very responsive! Mike was a big part of that. He worked well with me on the music selection before and during the dancing and he took requests from all the guests and we had a lot of people dancing all night who didn't want to leave. He worked great with our coordinator and all the transitions in our wedding went very smoothly. His emcee skills were excellent and he had charisma, excitement and confidence in his announcements. Note: If you are having a wedding, hire a coordinator, or designate a friend of family member with a well put together plan. Don't expect the DJ to be your wedding coordinator and then blame him for your own lack of preparedness like another review here did. Mike is highly detail oriented, which is very important for a wedding. It does mean he's going to ask you a lot of questions beforehand and make you aware of a lot of things you probably had no idea mattered, but they really do. You don't want to have some clown who doesn't know how things work and sells you on the illusion that this is an easy job and all you need to do is find the lowest bidder. Then they go and screw up something special like your toast because there's a bunch of people not paying attention and the sound is too low. Happens all the time when you skimp on your DJ. Take my advice, it's one of the most important days of your life. Pay for a DJ with a lot of experience and knows what they are doing. I'm really glad we went with Mike rather than try and save money by getting some kid or cheap DJ service.

Music By Robert

I am thoroughly disappointed with Music by Robert and most definitely do not recommend him. He was…read morevery rude, gossiped about my wedding to other vendors, didn't follow through with any promises (including playing only 4 songs we requested, and then didn't play them at the right time), and didn't follow the schedule that was provided. He caused drama, and numerous guests complained about his work. Unless you'd like your wedding almost ruined, don't hire him. I would give him 0 stars if I could. If you'd like more details, keep reading... When he arrived at the wedding venue, he was grouchy and rude. The venue employee instructed him to park in a small parking lot that was near the ceremony location, but Robert and his wife, Jessica, insisted on having a permit before parking there, despite the fact that the employee approved them for the space and assured them she would not have them towed. Because of this obstinance, my mother-in-law had to walk back to the reception site to get the permit and move her car so they could have her spot, leaving the rest of us to wait for further pictures, which set us behind schedule. Robert and Jessica also didn't have enough extension cords for the wireless microphone because they never looked at the venue beforehand to see what they'd need. Robert was incredibly grumpy about his own lack of planning, and made my other mother-in-law go get some extra cords we had on hand. While he was waiting for cords, he told my officiant "Out of 1,100 weddings I've done, this one is the worst." Not only had the wedding not even started, the only reason there was drama was because of him. His comment was extremely unprofessional. He told my officiant because he believed him to be another "vendor", but he is actually my dearest friend. Robert didn't intend on this comment getting back to me, which makes me wonder what else he said about me or my wedding. Once inside for the reception, he played songs meant for dancing during dinner, and vice versa. I emailed him about this beforehand, noting which group of songs was for which time slot, along with the link to the walk down the aisle song, but apparently he only saw the link (or chose to ignore my requests). During multiple phone conversations, he promised to play every song we requested before playing his own choices. He played 4 of our nearly 50 requests. Instead, he went around each table and asked my guests what it would take to get them on the dance floor. Guests complained that they couldn't understand anything he was saying on the mic system because he was far too close to it. He was responsible for announcing tables to go get dinner, and caused more drama as some tables got seconds before some tables got firsts because of his terrible ability to properly use a microphone. Immediately after our first dance, he announced cake cutting despite the fact that his schedule said it wasn't due for another hour. Not only were people still eating because of the chaos he created during the dinner line process, but the ones that had actually gotten food on time weren't ready for dessert yet (hence the proper timing on the provided schedule). My groom and I decided to follow his incorrect instructions because half of our guests were watching us and we wanted to avoid the embarrassment of appearing unorganized at our own wedding. The other half of our guests couldn't understand him, so they missed our cake cut. They only realized it was cake time when they saw the guest cake brought out to the tables. On my way over to the cake cut, Jessica acted as messenger between Robert and myself, and stopped me to ask what I was doing. She claimed that he just "needed to know what was going on", even though she had the provided schedule printed out in her hand! I still don't understand why I was asked what was happening when we were following the cue her husband gave. It seemed they were the ones that didn't know what was going on. I highly suggest you don't hire Music by Robert, but if you do, get all of his promises in writing. He pushes for phone conversations, and now I see why. There's little proof of his promises because he knows phone conversations aren't recorded like text is. He did whatever he wanted, which was as the exact opposite of what I was promised. He even went so far as to find me during dinner and say, "I'm playing exactly what you asked for!", which is an outright lie. I wish I could get my money back. Robert and Jessica were a nightmare. I was promised that they'd do whatever I wanted to make my day as special as I'd envisioned it, but instead they brought drama, difficulty, chaos, confusion, and an almost disastrous night. If it wasn't for my photographer, they would have successfully ruined the wedding. Many of my guests not only complained about him, but actually asked for his name so they could know to never hire him. One guest said, "I don't know where you found that DJ, but he was awful." Let that quote be the summary!

Robert was always available (and called me back promtply when not) to answer question or concerns I had, or even just to express my feelings about something completely unrelated regarding my wedding. Robert became a great friend and anytime I need something (like lowering vocals on a certain song to enhance the instrumentals or finding a purely instrumental version of another song) he was always very eager to help me out. Robert was already scheduled the day of our event so Randy was our DJ and was extremely receptive to our musical tastes, wants, and not-wants. I was a very particular bride (not bridezilla but had some definite desires) and both were understanding an receptive. For example, my husband & I wrote our own vows and I wanted a particular song to fade in at a precise moment of our ceremony, so it would be "just perfect" when were were announced as husband/wife and walked down the aisle. Randy only required an hour or so notice -- I gave him a copy of the vows and wrote it where the music should begin to fade in -- of this and he did it PERFECTLY. The image of our officient ending a lovely, moving quote then announcing us as man & wife while the music slowly faded in for our guests to hear (one not overpowering the other) still gives me that 'lump in the throat'! I highly recommend "Music By Robert" for any and all events where a DJ is needed!
