As an OCD bride you can imagine how much I wanted to control and direct how I wanted things done for our big day. Fortunately enough I didn't need to give direction to AJ because he knows his 'ISH!! Whether is was email, phone, or in person communication with us.. he was amazing through the entire process, his song lists and mixing SUPERB, and on the actual day he delivered MUCH more better than expected!!!! Music was HUGE thing for our wedding and he kept our guests on their feet from start to finish. Old school R&B, 90s, 00s, top 40s, cha cha, dance, hyphy Music lol the list goes on.. From cocktail hour to the last song of the night - every one of our guests (young and old) mentioned how amazing he was! Our own venue even told us they NEVER seen the dance floor that PACKED with guests dancing! Let's not forget to mention his MC skills - we had a huge wedding party! He went above and beyond and had the patience to help us coordinate our grand entrance and tailoring each song for each couple, he also made the order of our events of the reception seamless, and created a dope atmosphere the whole night. Lastly, I want to mention is his equipment. Our up-lights and GOBO was requested super last minute, but AJ was accommodating and put together an amazing setup! After communicating with Jose, I provided him the exact services we wanted. He was very responsive, which I appreciated. He was able to give me a quote for way less. Based on some of the work he posted here on Yelp and on his website, I felt comfortable with the product and services that he was offering. Him and I worked entirely through email, but he was very professional and made sure to let me know the status of my inquiries. After taking this all into consideration, I decided to hire him for our event. We managed to get everything we needed at much more reasonable cost. It made a huge impact to know that he did his very best to meet our expectations. From the sound, to the perfect shade of up-lighting, to the great job collaborating with our team members and entertainers and his attention to detail. He was very responsive. I appreciate his suggestion and honesty when I had questions about if a backdrop on the stage would work when the band of 16 people would come in later the night of. He checked in with me throughout the whole process and made sure I didn't forget to pick the lighting color. The day of our wedding he even arrived early and left late to adjust our change of time for contract. All of our guest were happy with the music play list and the look of how the uplighting gave the hall a different look. To start with the pre-planning, Paul is extremely experienced and does a great job of guiding you through what wedding entertainment looks like, while also asking about your wants/ thoughts and making sure to take special requests into consideration. He comes prepared with a sample timeline, suggestions for less personal music selections (like pre-ceremony or dinner background music) and is extremely detail oriented, down to asking what our officiant would be wearing to make sure he had the right kind of mic for him. He was great at communicating, and confirmed every single detail down to practicing all our bridal party's names for the bridal party entrance and making sure he had the exact timing of our songs right. Day of, Paul was amazing. The wedding ran 100% smoothly with seamless transitions and clear announcements and instructions for every event. He worked amazingly with our caterer and day of coordinators to produce a flawless event. And most importantly, the music was amazing! Having a fun reception was my husband and my number one priority and Paul kept the party going all night long. He was amazing at reading the crowd, pumped up the crowd without being overbearing, and made sure to play every single song we requested. Throughout both planning and the wedding day itself Paul was incredibly professional, accommodating, personable, and friendly. Last but not least, pricing: Paul was not be cheapest of our DJ options, but of everybody we looked at he was in the top 3 most affordable, with the best value of what he offered. He was responsive right out of the gate, he impressed me with his Soundcloud mixes (that I may have listened to obsessively for weeks on end) and he also impressed us both with how sweet he was when we met IRL. The day of the wedding, the dude has his work cut out for him. Not only did he have to drive 2+ hours North of his home base, but he had to set up two dj stations (one for the ceremony and one for the reception) IN A HEAT WAVE. The first time I set eyes on him on the day of the wedding he was drenched in sweat, I felt terrible, but he was there -- smiling and joking with me. :) He then proceeded to DJ the HELL out of our wedding. He helped me pull off a special surprise processional song for my husband (it worked!) and he helped us by playing all of our themed songs that released every table for dinner. And then I don't think the dance floor was ever empty once the reception really kicked off. And our guests are still going "who was that guy!? He was awesome!!!" What stood out about MVMNT DJs was that we didn't have to compromise--they love music, are detail-oriented, and know logistics, while keeping people on the dance floor. I worked with Mat early on to organize details (thankfully they already knew my venue), and he paired us with DJ Mike Ramirez based on our music taste and bilingual needs. Mike was spectacular--he read the crowd effortlessly and blended our Spanish and English party songs seamlessly. He even handled guest requests that didn't fit the vibe with tact. We also had a full dancefloor all nightttt! Beyond vibe curation, Mike and Mat went above and beyond on all of the little things, like making sure the ceremony audio was loud enough and working with our wedding planner. They also made our bridal party entrance unforgettable. We wanted the 1997 Chicago Bulls lineup intro for our bridal party with each member of our party entering coinciding with a specific player, but the YouTube audio was terrible--so they recorded it themselves and even sent us a copy afterward!
