It was important to us to find a "non-cheesy" DJ that really "got us." And that's what we found with Eric. He was recommended by our photographer, and our photographer also "got us," so his referral was taken to heart. I took pride in finding the best vendors for my husband and I's special day because I feel like the team around you really make your day as special as you envision. When we talked to Eric initially and we said our few key words and artists we liked, he expressed the same interest, so I knew this would be a great fit. I just felt he was easy going and ultimately wanted to do what we wanted to do, still giving some good suggestions based on our interests. The planning process was so easy with Eric and he went above and beyond with figuring out set up at our venue that wasn't as straight forward as plugging into a hotel ballroom - we had outdoor and indoor set up and everything went off without a hitch. As requested, he did a few standard announcements but essentially just played great music that appealed to all my guests from beginning to end -- all the way from toddlers to tweens to parents and grandparents. It was just a FUN TIME! I highly recommend Eric to any couple for weddings, but I also know he would do a great job for any event where good music should be played. During that interview, we were told a couple had booked our date and we could not book with The Get Down. We were later informed the couple had selected a different date, and that we were ensured we had no competition for our date anymore. We next had a phone interview to confirm our date appointment. We had a verbally agreed to contract. We were sent an incorrect contract after that meeting, and had asked for the contract to be corrected. Instead, we were informed that the same initial couple had booked our same date after we were ensured we had no competition. Words cannot express our heartbreak. This could not have been handled worse, as their error in the contract handling resulted in our inability to book our dream plans with the singular most important experience in our lives. This company is extremely unorganized, unprofessional, and will not deviate from ruining your dream day. What a horrible way to handle a situation. I cannot believe someone would handle such a monumental moment in someone's life this way.

I called him to inquire further about his behavior which resulted in him screaming at me from the top of his lungs. I never post any reviews anywhere but decided this should be a PSA to NOT hire this guy. And if anyone is wondering if it's made up I have both email and recorded proof of our conversations. Hate that you have to leave a star when this company deserves less than zero.
