Gifted my husband a DATE NIGHT here for VALENTINE'S DAY and we had a blast! DIY BAR had a Watercolor Valentine's Day Cards Event that I reserved online ahead of time, $40 per person. We had expectations of copying the instructor and everyone in the group painting the same design, but to our surprise, they gave us the creative leisure to paint our cards with whatever design we wanted. I only wish we knew this ahead of time so we came prepared with knowing what to paint. There was one main instructor and another assistant who was walking around, giving us tips and answering all of our questions. We learned about some watercolor techniques and played with new materials. They left us alone to paint for the most part during the 2 hours of the class. DIY BAR also has a small selection of beers, wine, and other drinks to choose from. The space is super neat with lots of art materials plastered on the walls. They have other types of arts & crafts kits to choose from. All in all, we had a really good time and we are looking forward to our next date night here.

I've gone to this place like four or five times now and I've loved it every single time. The pricing is straight forward, scheduling is easy and they have booze, what else could you want? Every time I've gone the staff has been friendly, helpful and good at checking in without feeling like they're hovering. They have quite a large selection of crafts, even more color options for string, leather stain, paint and so on. I highly recommend this spot, it's such a fun activity for a couple or a large group!

We had the most incredible time at DIY BAR! Adam, the owner, was so kind, attentive, and helpful during our three-hour experience. We made a Portland, Oregon sign, bottle opener, and custom luggage tags. The space itself is clean, modern, and well-stocked with everything you need to enjoy a DIY experience. As someone who's not crafty at all, I loved experimenting with different paints, paintbrushes, and other crafts supplies. It was a bonus to have delicious drinks available, too, like the lavender honey cider. If you're visiting Portland, this is the perfect place to spend a relaxing afternoon. I'm looking forward to showcasing my handmade souvenirs, and I'd recommend that everyone check out this gem!

Gifted an experience at this place for one of my friend's birthday and we all visited on a Saturday late morning time. Everything is absolutely perfect at this place. Service was amazing with the staff being present all the time around helping us out to get the pieces done perfectly. First we need to select what we would want to do, the items are listed with the amount of time it takes to get them done. We all picked different categories which includes Macrame Wall Art Cement Coasters Leather Luggage Tags (2) Painted sign They ll give the materials and an instruction sheet which is very detailed. Staff is very friendly and helped us with some tips and tricks to help us shape the items beautifully. Cherry on top: If you want to eat something or drink or just relax, there's a very beautiful and amazing cafe right next door which has an entrance from this place. We bought some quick snacks and drinks. Overall, an amazing experience and definitely coming back again. Value: It was worth the value for the experience and service. Perfect place for a group event, romantic event and overall, an amazing experience.

Second time coming here and my husband and I enjoyed our time here. We chose to do the coasters and luggage tags. You can drink while working on your craft, it was such a fun activity to do together! The staff is welcoming and friendly and willing to help if needed! We loved it and wanna make another thing next time!

Went to a work event here and it was so much fun! They don't have a parking lot so you'll have to find street parking. The space is super cute and the staff was very helpful. This is a place for the crafty and the not so crafty to hang out together. They have a bunch of different choices of crafts and options for all skill levels. Do you only have an hour to spare, they have something for you to do. Have a whole afternoon...they got you covered.

Must must must. This place is a must if you are crafty person or not. They have ample of options to choose from - stitch art, mandala art, pot painting, coaster painting and much more. And they give good supplies to let you be as creative as possible. The staff is super friendly and will guide you as much as you need. They give drinks on premises to make best of your recreation time. And best part they are reasonable for the price.

DIY Bar has something for everyone - at and age and skill level. Our team had a work event here and each person chose a craft project which interested them...everything from macrame plant holders, painted coasters and small wallets. The instructions were easily to follow and modify, the staff provided as little or as much help as needed and you can quench your thirst with offerings from the bar. The costs were nominal, a one stop crafty shop. If you were to purchase everything, you'd spend 5x as much and not have as much fun. I'd go back in a heartbeat! What a fun and productive afternoon - everyone was proud of their new creations.

We booked here for an afternoon on our girls weekend in Portland, and it was a definite highlight of our trip! Hannah greeted us and was really helpful for the 3 hours we were here, which FLEW by! She explained the different craft projects available to do, and took our drink orders (wine, draft beers, cider). It was hard to choose because the string art and the macrame and the jewelry and everything all seem like fun and the finished products are great! We decided to do leatherwork projects including a cozy, passport cover, and luggage tags. When you pick your craft, they bring you all of the tools and materials you need in a cute tote bag, with a set of super clear instructions to follow step-by-step. Highly recommend even if you think you're not crafty, you will have fun and take home something cute!

DIY Bar PDX is the perfect date spot or birthday gift if you're in the Portland area. The staff and owner really make it feel like home and will answer any questions you may have about your session. You have to book the session in advance with your credit card information but don't charge you until after the session. There will be cancelation fees if you don't cancel within 48 hours of your session. You can pick through a variety of projects ($39 and $45) which includes add ons. The drinks do not come with the session but the mimosa's are half off Saturday and Sunday which should come out to be $3.50 if you're coming in at around lunch time. The owner of DIY Bar also comes around and checks to see if you have questions about the project your working on or if you need help. Some of the projects are a bit confusing but him and his staff comes around consistently throughout your session to help out if you're stuck on a step. This is a perfect place to take your friends, spouse, or family for a crafting session with drinks available for purchase. I would absolutely come back to try out their other projects.

You HAVE to come here. Not only are the car rafts super fun, but the staff are also super welcoming and patient, and the drinks are delicious and strong. I stumbled across the DIY bar while searching for fun things to do on my solo trip while I was in PDX and I def have to say this was one of the highlights of my trip and I even got to take a souvenir home with me. There wasn't a design I liked, so I decided to create my own. The staff were so welcoming and friendly - they helped print my design and create a stencil for me to use. They even wrapped up my art so I can take it on the plane. Thank you for the best hospitality DIY bar, I had SUCH a great time!

Omg this was so much fun! My friend and I went for the first time and Alby was so kind and funny right off the bat. They made us feel so welcome and always gave us a good laugh when they stopped by to help us out or poured us another drink. Thank you Alby for your guidance and hospitality! Im sure we will be back again!

One of the most unique(ly Portland) bar experiences in Portland! I brought my fiancee here for her birthday last year, as a part of a multi-layered surprise party (this gave the other partiers two hours to get things set up at the next location), and we were so engrossed in our craft projects that the time flew by in an instant! Workspaces can be a little tight, and the brews on tap, ranging from microbrews to ciders and even mead, are a fairly standard array of Portland offerings. People don't come here for the beer, they come for the hands-on experience; getting a little tipsy enhances this experience and creates a communal vibe with the neighbors with whom you will be regularly bumping elbows. My fiancee and I both selected the string art project, using the provided plastic stencils to create our birth states (WA and CA), which now adorn the walls of our home. We will be back, after our wedding, to work together to create a third, for the state that brought us together (OR). Looking forward to coming back!

We had a 19 year old with us 2 weeks ago. They even have beverage options for them too.

Is it one person per craft or can 2 people work on a craft together?

Due to limited space, we prefer that all that have reserved do a craft, but two people doing one craft is ok.

Can someone come and ONLY drink without doing a project?

And also gives one the freedom to browse at their leisure with no pressure to purchase, which is my preference. We visited on MLK Day and were there specifically to see what Oliveve handbags were available since I had recently come across this brand while shopping at the House of Lolo in Palm Desert. Kayla immediately recognized my Jasper bag! The Oliveve bags have a modern design, clean lines, and my bag is made of neutral colored pebbled leather. It's the perfect bag to use while shopping as it is a cross body style yet as large as a tote and holds a lot. That day there was only one Olivevebag available, a black handbag with tan wrapped handles, and my friend immediately claimed it! I'll have to go online (Oliveve.com) to buy my next one, the black oiled Italian leather Eva bag, which I've had my eye on for a few months.
