While some of the repairs were completed, the most important issue, which was repairing the trailer lights, remained unresolved. Jerry explained that he could not repair the trailer lights because he believed there were issues with my truck that prevented him from connecting the lights. Despite discussing and arguing with him about the trailer light connection, he did not resolve the problem. Billing and Outcome: After this unsatisfactory interaction, I decided to leave the business. I was presented with an invoice totaling $600.00 for approximately three hours of labor, which I felt was excessive given that my main concern was not fixed. I paid the invoice, but I was left dissatisfied with the service provided. Resolution at a Different Business: I then visited another business, where the main issue with my trailer lights was successfully resolved in less than 30 minutes. They gave me a quote of $100 total to install a trailor hitch for up to 2 hours of labor at $50/hr when I initially called. Then when I went there it was increased to $100/hr for labor. When I had the installation they said it took 1.8 hours to install a class 1 hitch with no wiring on a camry, which is absurd for professionals to take that long. It would normally take at most 30 minutes to an hour. I do not recommend this place. They're not trustworthy. read more

Stopped in here today for some propane parts on my pop up camper. The gentleman who helped me is Turkish and I told him about my trips to Turkey when I was in the Navy. Anyway, the guy helped me with what I needed and was very friendly. This place is about the size of a convenience store and looks like an RV general store inside. I have a small boat trailer I was rebuilding, tried going to Northern Tool, and everything was a mess, disorganized, etc. Finally someone wandered into the area and I asked for a pair of 24" leaf springs they had listed as in-stock online at the store, but he couldn't find them either. There was a pair of 26" hanging in the 24" spot, thankfully I noticed before I would have brought them all the way home. Then he suggested Dixie Trailer, thankfully. There was a nice lady behind the counter that had me in and out in 5 minutes. They have everything there in-stock, hubs, lights, tires, bearings, neat, organized, and friendly. The Cook family is pleased to announce that our business has been purchased by a very nice family. Ward has retired to his beloved cabin in NY. Nancy will stay on for a bit to help in the transition with the new owners. She will remain here in Ft Lauderdale next to her daughter and grandchildren. The older man running the shop is rude and doesn't seem to want to be bothered. He sold me a hub and bearing set that the seals weren't the right size. Went back and explained what was going on and resold me the same seals, wasn't pleasant and questioned me like I didn't know what i was doing. Went back again, now the third visit, and miraculously he had different diameter seals that fit the hub I bought, only by me asking. So if he was listening to the issue or cared enough to offer buying different sized seals I might of been able to complete the job on my trailer weeks ago. These are $5 seals we are taking here! They have a lot of supplies, but as a person who runs a shop, how did it take me asking if the seals came in a few sizes and why didn't he not recommend this to me for $5 options in size so I didn't have to come back 3 times?! Never doing business here. Customer service? Nope. Third visit he didn't even acknowledge me standing next to him and when I asked him a question I was brushed off. I'll gladly drive farther to do business at Ames trailer shop and bypass this D bag and his shop. read more
