I went here for lunch for the first time with some co-workers. I can say it truly was a mixed customer base...from minorities to MAGA hats (which disgusts me but the MAGA hat patrol gotta eat too I guess.) Their menu is southern fare, very good lunch specials, very tasty with good portion sizes; I had the taco salad. Service was very sweet, very prompt. I really wish I could give five stars. Waitress was extremely nice didn't have to wait hardly at all to sit down or to order. But when the waitress brings your food and the check at the same time you know you're not gonna see her again, which is what happened. She never checked on her food asked if we wanted refills. Went by this place many times and always saw a ton of cars and finally had the chance to try it out. It was a great mom and pop spot off orange ave close to airport area if you want to grab some home style cooking before you leave Orlando. Blows any chain restaurant out of the water. This is one place I have been wanting to visit for awhile now. Dixie Belle's Café is a drive for me, so it is not like I get over to this side of town that often. Being out of town for a week, I awoke to a empty refrigerator. Other than condiments and a lonely tomato, I really needed to do some grocery shopping! So I may as well go somewhere and have a hearty breakfast before I go grocery shopping. Which gave me a good reason to come here. And I am glad I did. It was a late breakfast, so I was able to get a table immediately. I ordered the Farmer John's Plate. Home fries smothered in sausage gravy, two eggs, and two sausage patties/applewood smoked bacon with toast. I went with the sausage patties. A filling breakfast that was delicious! If you do not want the sausage gravy, you can get the home fries smothered in cheese. As I said, it was late for breakfast when I arrived, but I came at a great time. As I was finishing my breakfast and getting my check, the early lunch crowd was staring to arrive. And by the time I paid my check and left, the dining room was starting to fill up. And so was the parking lot! If you see a full parking lot in front of a restaurant/café/diner, then you know the food id great. The dining room is clean and comfortable. And spacious. The tables are not spaced close together, unlike other restaurants I have been to. It makes for a nice, quiet meal. A couple seated at the next table were able to have a nice conversation while enjoying their breakfast, and I was able to sit at my table and enjoy my breakfast. I hate having to eat while someone at the next table is having an argument with their significant other on their cellphone. Anyway, there are also several televisions around the dining room. So if you like watching the news while having breakfast, you are in luck. And the servers are friendly. My order arrived in a timely manner, although my waitress had to look for my side of toast! Which they were able to find and bring out shortly afterwards. And Dixie Belle's Café is now serving dinner on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. A cute basic diner with a huge hug and a pat on the back that leaves you planning your next visit right as you barely sat down. Driving down South Orange Ave among warehouses, auto shops, carwashes, and gas stations to name a few this place suddenly pops up attracting passerby's attention with its yellow and red signs. After a quick glance at my fellow yelpers reviews I asked a family in the parking lot if the place really lives to its hype or because it is the only breakfast place nearby. The hey quickly answered "Don't ask us. We are here daily". I walked in being the only stranger in an almost full hall of regulars. The servers were quick to tell everyone to seat ourselves and just as quickly were at the table explaining the menu and options. The menu is full of your regular breakfast options with no surprises other than no turkey and no chicken visible. Beef us inly available in the form of strip steak served in an omelette platter. The eggs were fried to order and they did a good job. The hash browns were ordered crispy and came as such. The pancake was huge and nicely presented. I enjoyed myself and would consider it again if the road gets me this far from my usual routes this early in the day. read more

YUM!! Southern Breakfast with a side a carbs please!! We discovered this joint as a second pick. We were originally going to The Diner, however when we pulled up to that place, huge line going outside, so I wandered in to see how long of a wait only to be informed "45-60 mins"...UH NOPE! So back to searching Yelp it was. So this place pulls up and I click the pics only to see some REALLY good looking eats. Back on the freeway we go. Took us about 15-20mins to get here (Well worth it, even if it took an hour). Now Dixie Belle's seems a little out of the way, but that's just fine. We parked in the crowded lot, I go in while the wife stays in the car (she was talking to her brother on the phone) and mosey inside and give the young lady my name. I see her write it down (6 names down) and think "shit, this is going to take some time"....NOPE, only had to wait 15min. We get seated and a very smiley cheerful Heather B. takes our drink order and lets us decide what we're going to have. When she comes back, she kindly takes my wife's order, Veggie Omelet, Grits and white hime made biscuit...then it's my turn "I'm not sure if I want the Barnyard aka "Manly meal" or the chicken and waffles...Well, she informs me that I can get the Manly meal with fried chix breast (house made) in lieu of Chix fried steak (frozen)...so I said "Deal!". Before I tell you how amazballs this was, let me describe it to you...it's layered with the bottom layer being homemade biscuits, then tatertots (you can get those, house fries or hashbrowns) then the delicious fried chicken, then homemade sausage gravy (with fresh ground sausage..OMG) then two eggs (mine were over-medium)...So, this southern heavenly breakfast dish arrives and my mouth starts to leak with drool. Bite after amazing-gutfilling bite I am oh so pleased. I stuff the living bejesus outta myself. I conquered this dish and am sure any southern Mama would have been proud of her boy. I must eat here again before leaving back to Vegas. All in all...one of the BEST breakfasts I've had. Yes, it was very calorie loaded, but with most southern style places, you won't find Avocado Toast, Egg whites and sprouts with a side of vegan-glutten free-tofu based meat substitute. Such a cute little place! Great for family. Reminds me of being back in Tennessee. I got the half order gravy and biscuits with an extra sweet potato biscuit and it was to die for! Such a good deal too. The half order included two biscuits. There was a bit of a wait on a Sunday morning, but we enjoyed the free coffee and newspapers. This place is pretty spacious for a mom and pop restaurant and they bring in a crowd, especially on the weekends! They're a breakfast and lunch restaurant and they're friendly with they're portions! I came in today with an appetite thankfully, because I ordered a huge entreè called; "The Barnyard King" which was a country fried on an open biscuit layered with a choice of potatoes, eggs cooked your style, and smothered in their famous sausage gravy. You do have the option to have a smoked sausage instead of the country fried steak. I ordered mine with hash browns and had my eggs over easy along with their new sweet potato biscuits. The entreè was literally and properly layered! I couldn't even see the steak or biscuit, I'm not big on presentation anyway. The sweet potato biscuit was soft and smelled and tasted like a sweet potato, but I wouldn't order it again, I'll try their plain biscuits the next time. Three of us had breakfast. It was well prepared, and tasted good. The pancakes were fluffy and the scrambled eggs were perfectly cooked. The bacon was just slightly too crispy but still tasted great. Overall I would recommend Dixie Belle Cafe for breakfast anytime. read more

The portions here are HUGE. I ordered the biscuits with sausage gravy and could only eat half of it. The gravy was good, but needed more flavor. I tried to spice it up with some hot sauce but it didn't mesh well. Thankfully we went at a time where there was lunch and breakfast so we got to order from both menus. We ordered an extra dozen biscuits to go and one sweet potato biscuit to try. Even though they are "famous" for their sweet potato biscuit it was gummy and raw and tasted more like a muffin. 4 stars for a solid breakfast spot. My wife and I were in the mood for breakfast the other day, so we looked on Yelp and found Dixie Belle's. Located on South Orange (down in the industrial area), Dixie Belle's is an old school restaurant the understands what it is: a classic breakfast cafe. We arrived at Dixie Belle's (which was next to a car wash that I used after our meal) and took a seat at an outside table. While the metal table wasn't anything fancy, it was nice to be outside and it got the job done. The waitress brought out some menus and we put in our drink order (my wife got coffee while I got some hot chocolate). The menu is fairly large and has lots of options. While it doesn't have the creativity that some other breakfast spots have in Downtown Orlando, it contains lots of solid options. I decided to order an open fact omelet with some tater tots and cinnamon raisin toast. While it took a little bit due to the restaurant being packed, our food came out and looked fantastic. My omelet (as you can see in the picture) was full of tasty sausage and cheese (american beneath and Parmesan on top) and made for a very satisfying meal. Overall, Dixie Belle's is a good spot that knows how to cook a good breakfast. If you are in the mood for a tasty classic breakfast, you should check this place out. read more

Me and my coworkers decided to go out for breakfast. One of my co workers mentioned this place. We decided to try them out being that they had a bigger breakfast selection. The parking is small and they do get busy so just keep note of that. The place is nice and big a very open place. They have a lot of decorations like roosters and different funny signs. They also have all of the military flags which I loved because my son is in the military. I decided to try the country fried steak, eggs over easy, potatoes and white toast. So I REALLY wanted to love this place because it felt some homey. One thing is that I like my food hot but the country fried steak was just Luke warm, my over easy eggs were a bit on the runny side like just a sunny side up egg my potatoes had no flavor and they were both cold and sadly my toast was burnt. Again I REALLY wanted to love this place. I had tried the sweet potato biscuit in the past so I know those are yummy! There were 9 of us and the food all came out together so that could be why my food wasn't hot. I will definitely try them out for lunch because it looked like they had a big selection for lunch as well. This is a no-frills breakfast & lunch restaurant with basic tables and decorations. Even on a weekday, this place can get quite busy and crowded and the parking lot fills up quickly. They serve good breakfast food and fair, moderate portions for the price. The banana nut pancakes were a highlight for us, but overall the breakfast food was nothing to write home about. Unfortunately, our waitress provided poor service during our visit. There were several mistakes with our orders, and our food took over 30 minutes to be delivered to us. She only checked up on us once until it was time for the check, despite the fact that I was vigorously waving at her trying to get her attention for 5 minutes. We came half an hour before closing and was warmly welcomed and never rushed. The waitress took time to chat with us, even though we were just tourists passing through. You can tell that most of the clientele are locals as the waitress knew a large number by name. The sweet potato biscuit is like a sugared muffin and was absolutely amazing. We had the most tender fried chicken and waffles ever. I'd recommend a side of the sausage gravy if you don't like the sweet stuff. The Barnyard King was the the most food we've ever seen on a single plate, and my teenage son was unable to finish the massive combination of hash browns, gravy, country friend steak, and eggs. The Eggs Benedict is delicious and rich. You get two heaping portions instead of the one at fru fru restaurants. All the sauces here are freshly made and you can definitely tell the difference in every bite. They even have healthy options like egg white veggie omelets for my wife. Every dish was under $10. Parking is limited in the lot, but it was only half full when we arrived. Highly recommended. It is worth the extra 20 minute drive from hotels in the Orlando area. We will definitely be back should we travel through Orlando again. read more
