( with Emily in June) For the one row move up I was quoted $150 which is more than I paid for in big city life of seattle but I figured I would give it a shot. NORMAL routine for a move up. 1. Remove the row 2. Wash the clients hair and the extensions 2. Separate the wefts 3. Reinstall one at a time in a continuous process of course 4. Dry the Client's hair 5. Style. What I received? The row removed and reinstalled poorly. When I asked if she was going to wash my hair or separate the wefts she said it wasn't necessary . I don't know if this is Standard protocol there or if she was just being lazy. I've never received this poor of service for a move up. When I finally went to a different salon to have it moved up, her service was not only top-notch but she pointed out that my move up was not even done properly. Which I kind of had a feeling because the way that the row started to slip in certain areas and the corners started to lift. Not sure if this was an individual stylist issue or that is their protocol. But I'm so glad I found someone who did it right elsewhere! Lastly, I had a friend who went in for a money piece coloring on a short Bob and paid $75! That seems astronomical but maybe they just have a minimum. ‍

Here was my mistake, I took her to a home stylist (that I had been to a few times before for layers added to my hair), I went in assuming she knew what she was doing....don't ever assume! After telling her what she was wanting and showing her an inspo pic, she ended up with an extremely uneven cut and awful yellow chunky highlights on the top few layers of hair. $200 later and my daughter was extremely unhappy. Not only did her color look ridiculous but she was left with uneven hair and length taken off in just parts. She specifically said she did not want length taken off except for the reasonable amount when trimming ends. She was also given layers and did not ask for those either. I was there to listen and witness what my daughter asked for. I am so thankful to have come across Kayla, she turned a mess into something my daughter is really happy with. Although she's missing some length and now has layers, Kayla turned that chop shop mess into something my daughter was happy with. Let's talk about color...I genuinely don't know how the stylist thought what she did was remotely close to the inspo pic. Not to mention she applied lightener so unevenly, which you can see in the photos. Kayla was able to correct the mess and created soft dimension throughout her hair, not just the top. I reached out to Kayla on messenger around 9am the morning after her hair was messed up. She responded immediately and asked if we were able to come in at 11:30 that day. By the way, Kayla was off that day but she didn't hesitate to offer to come in and correct this mess for my daughter. Kayla's knowledge for color was very impressive and she explains things to you up front. Our experience with Kayla in a nutshell...she was a hair savior with wonderful friendly communication with above and beyond service. She mentioned she trains all her stylists, so who ever you end up booking with I'm thinking you're in very good hands. It was a pretty extensive day at the salon, but I must say it didn't feel like we spent as much time there as we did. It was a pleasant experience and we walked out with my daughter having a huge smile on her face vs the tears she had the day before. Chloe styled her hair once Kayla was done doing her magic. That girl can create a beautiful soft curl! Unfortunately I wasted $200 to have my kids hair royally screwed up. But the positive outcome of all this was we found our hair girl and we all know how big of a deal that is! Also to add, Kayla reached out to me later that evening to check in and see if my daughter was still happy. I have also reached out to Kayla a couple times with some questions regarding what products to use. She has responded right away and has no problem answering any questions you may have. Honestly I feel like I'm texting with a friend, that's how friendly and comfortable she is. We appreciate her so much and won't hesitate to suggest Kayla and her salon! The pictures I've included are of the inspo pic that was shown to previous stylist, then what she did. The last pictures are of Kayla's correction.

I had a much needed haircut a few weeks ago, when salons were allowed to open again during the pandemic. I actually waited two weeks before reaching out to her because I knew here calendar would fill fast. My hair was shaggy and dry and way too long for my taste and I felt gross. I got in to see Jody within a week and was a bit nervous about the virus. There was no need however, because Jody wore a full on face shield the entire time. I didn't wear a mask because she was fully covered. I felt very good about the level of care she went to for her clients. I left with a pile of hair gone and it felt so, so good. My hair is back to tip-top condition again and I'm very pleased.

If you're thinking about booking with Abby Craig, I would genuinely think twice. From the SECOND I…read moresat down in her chair, I did not understand what her issue was with me. I was extremely polite to her, partly because I was honestly in shock at how I was being treated. I had barely even interacted with this woman and somehow already felt like she had an issue with me. She was rude, dismissive, did not want to understand or do what I was asking for with MY hair, and trying to over price me. She was also extremely rough while brushing my hair. She was brushing from the top toward my head and coming down aggressively that I could physically feel where the brush had hit afterward. I was in shock. I genuinely did not feel comfortable having her continue touching my hair. She tried to make a point of bringing up that I had previously paid around $210 with a senior stylist, but that $210 was for THREE separate services. Abby wanted to charge me $175 for ONE service. Those are not comparable. She also told me that the prices listed on THEIR OWN WEBSITE were wrong when I questioned the pricing. I could afford what she was charging me. I simply did not want to pay that amount to someone who had already made me this uncomfortable and didn't even seem interested in working with me on what I wanted. I want to make clear just how uncomfortable I actually was sitting there. I wasn't simply annoyed about a price or unhappy with a consultation. my heart was genuinely racing and I didn't know what to do in the moment. I was so shocked by how I was being treated when I had done absolutely nothing to her that I found it difficult to even speak up for myself. I stayed polite and left politely because I just wanted out of the situation. And Abby, if you're reading this, I want to make something VERY clear: I did NOTHING to you. Genuinely, nothing happened between us. There was no argument, no previous issue, nothing. I sat down, I was polite to you, I explained what I wanted for MY hair, and I asked questions about pricing. That was it. I don't know what your issue with me was or what happened before I sat in your chair, but I did not deserve to be treated that way. I cannot imagine being such a bitter fake person. please go back to being a receptionist like you were for the last five years. For reference this girl JUST became a stylist, and the only reason I know this is because I have been a loyal customer to the salon. but I won't be ever be back. I called the manager, Savannah, afterward because I genuinely thought she would care that a client had left feeling this uncomfortable. Savannah told me that they had discussed my encounter after I left, which made how dismissive she was toward me on the phone even more disappointing. Shame on management for hearing that a client felt this uncomfortable and still making her feel like her experience didn't matter. I'm not someone who enjoys leaving reviews like this. I genuinely loved coming to this salon before this happened. Kory and Natalie have ALWAYS been kind to me and made me feel comfortable, which is part of why this experience was so shocking and disappointing. Maybe Abby will choose to be perfectly nice to you. She wasn't to me. And that's exactly why I'm writing this. You shouldn't have to sit in someone's chair and wonder what you possibly did to deserve being treated like that when you did absolutely nothing. I'm tired of people thinking they can treat someone however they want and simply get away with it. I wish I had spoken up more in the moment, but I was genuinely shocked and uncomfortable. I'm speaking up now because people deserve to know who they're trusting with their hair before they sit in that chair. Think about whether the person doing your hair is actually going to listen to you, be considerate of you as a client, handle you with care, and make you feel comfortable. I did not feel any of that with Abby.
