Believe it or not, it takes far more trips to the barbershop in order to look scruffy. Because civilized society will still insist on hygiene even if the point of the look is to appear unkempt, and sadly facial hair will not tame itself. And no, this level of manscaping is not something I can do to and by myself. It takes special tools, precision, training and experience. I have taken more trips to the barber ever since I'd decided to keep my scruff as opposed to when I kept my face clean and a daily date with my Mach 3 every morning did the trick. If in the past I only had to have my hair trimmed around once every 2 months, now I have to visit the barber once a week lest I turn into a barbarian. And no, I am not willing to take deliberate trips to out-of-the-way salons just to get this done. The affair is far too frequent and I, far too lazy. (Besides, I would like to believe that I am a busy person and busy people don't like doing anything else other than what they are already busy with.)
This is why I need Divas N Gents in my life. It is the salon-cum-barbershop just outside the gate of the village outside my village. And just alongside the Titas of the community, it's where I have myself groomed, whether before I go to work, or strategically squeezed in between a TV marathon during a lazy Saturday afternoon without having to change my shirt. And for only 120 pesos plus tip, the labaha shave comes with that nice kanto-type massage only a true barber can administer. Divas N Gents: enter a Gent, come out a Diva. read more
