So, before heading back to the office, I decided to give my hair some TLC and refresh my red hair. I didn't even call beforehand to make an appointment. I walked in and asked if there was a stylist available and the receptionist told me they had a Senior Stylist who was free. She did tell me the rates Senior Stylist compared to the Junior Stylist before I accepted (which I appreciated!). If I was willing it wait, a Junior Stylist could assist me in an hour. Since I didn't have the time and I was really excited just to get my hair colored, I went for the Senior Stylist! As my check-ins have shown, I am a regular at the Piandre branch in Promenade Greenhills. This branch is more spacious than the GH branch. Like all Piandre Salons, they offer you beverages like Iced Tea, Water, and Brewed Coffee while you wait. After meeting with Jerwin, we both went over some pictures on what hair style I want. We decided to go with a shoulder-length bob. For my hair color, they just looked through my records of what hair color they use on my hair at Promenade. So quick and easy... Love it!!! My hair came out looking gorgeous! So happy that my hair was more vibrant and my hair had more volume! Thank you to Jerwin for making me feel beautiful! If I need a quick beauty fix, I will be sure to be back here :)

It becomes a he said/she said scenario. I had to cut off my hair to get rid of the damage done. Too bad theres no FDA equivalent for hair salons. It was very traumatic for me.for the record this basement salon at eastwood mall NOT shangrila, (stefan) is great, should have gone to him instead.

I tried to be cheap but you get what you paid for, right?! This is located by the parking garage or in front of the outside Starbucks store in the Shangri-la Plaza Mall. Very easy to find as it's on the outside of the mall. They have two floors. They offer different services like wax, nails, massage, haircuts and color blends all the way to 7 colors!! I really wanted to color my hair fire red with flames! Hahaha My mom wanted her hair cut and colored white gray (3400 php) to blend with her coming white hair but she had colored her hair previously so Ernie suggested a blend due to her dry hair and because it was colored already. It turned out great!! It was a mixture of brown with silver highlights. Sometimes, in the sun, it looked really gray! It was kind of neat! He was very gentle with her which I liked. I mean he had the patience with her. They always offered us something to drink. While she was getting her hair done, they did her pedi (Judy) and mani (Joy)(750php) at the same time while waiting for the color to set. Many places in the PI do not have professional massage chairs for people to get a mani/pedi like in the States. I wonder why? They like to do all at once and go to where you are to get the job done quicker maybe? I had my hair treated (2800php) for long hair because my hair was getting dry due to the Philippines water. Tess massaged my head, back & shoulders, had my hair washed and curled for my hair treatment service. It turned out great. I also had them change the color of my feet and hand nails for 150 php ea pair; not bad by Beth. Thank goodness they had a big selection of good nail polishes but still limited to the colors I really wanted...but still! The nail polishes were not old! I also had an underarm wax (450php) by Eryl which she used the new gel type wax that smells like wheat. It didn't hurt at all but it takes a few times to finish vs a honey wax. I prefer the honey wax better for some reason as it also lifts the color of your underarms. All in all, if you are looking for great services and options, this is the place to go! I hear this is owned by a older Filipino basketball player turned actor?! Interesting! [15/100]

I stumbled across Felipe and Sons while scrolling through Instagram and I really liked their aesthetic. Their setup in Ortigas is the real deal. Hardwood floors, old-school chairs, full-bar and floor-to-ceiling mirrors. While waiting for my appointment on the dark leather couch, I felt as though I was on a scene of Mad Men or something. Now for the cut. I was a bit apprehensive because the barber that scooped me up wasn't conversastional, like at all. I got a nice hot towel to start though and then he got to work after I explained what I wanted. Luckily my fears were unfounded! What takes 25 minutes at some other salons and barbershops took him nearly an hour--and that's a good thing. This barber (it's a shame I didn't catch his name), took the time to really give me a good fade, thin out my top, and even did a sick job on my sides. You could tell that he had a really, really skilled manner in the way he manipulated the clippers and scissors. I got a shampoo and another hot towel after. Awesome! The arm and neck massage was also super relaxing. He even gave me some good tips about what kind of pomade to use for my cut and how he'd work with what the other barber did wrong apparently from when I got a cut from somewhere else. Definitely worth a try if you're looking for a new place to get a haircut. For only 280 pesos the quality of the cut was amazing. I already scheduled my next haircut.
