Beware of the mirrors. First off, it's incredibly annoying that the fitting rooms don't have their own mirrors (the better to make you go outside where the saleswomen will be waiting/hovering). The mirror by the fitting room is one of those tricky "slimming" mirrors that will make you look amazing in the store, but then you get home and put on the dress and realize it actually looks terrible. But then you're screwed because returns are for store credit only, so they've already got your money. There's some cute stuff to be found here (also some crazy stuff), but I hate how pressured I feel by the sales associates and the awkwardness of trying out these dresses in front of everyone. Also, be prepared upon entering that you will be harassed and followed and basically pressured into buying things. DO NOT SHOP HERE! I needed a red dress last minute for an event and could not decide between two so I bought both and decided I would return the one I did not wear later in the week. When I went back to return the dress I hadn't used, the woman - the owner I believe - told me she would not take the dress because I bought it at "another store" aka the Diva in Forest Hills, accused me of wearing it even though the tag was STILL ON, and the dress was as I got it, and refused to give me store credit. I shop there frequently and know some of the girls but after this, I won't be going back. This place deserves zero stars!!! read more

Clothes are cute, but like others have said, you can find the EXACT same clothes at strawberry, easy pickins, or beverly in jackson heights for at least 10-20 dollars cheaper. The clothes break apart easy AND i found out two neat things: 1. The girls wear the clothes from there, but i mean they wear it for the day and PUT IT BACK ON THE HANGER AT NIGHT. yuck I know when I buy clothes usually someone else has tried it on, but not worn it for 8 hours! 2. They falsify their tags. If they run out of say, a small, they will take a large and place a "SMALL" tag there. The trick to see if its the right size? look on the lower inside of the dress, shirt, whatever. It's usually on the right side and its the tag that says the washing care, it also says the size -- if its cut, its not really a small. two things to look out for when shopping there. read more

Nasty, trashy staff that follow you around. They dress trashy and barely speak English. I really don't need to steal your cheap ass clothes. This place used to have a better selection of clothes. It's been a hit and miss- but mostly a miss nowadays. I always hate coming here because of the staff up my ass. Exactly the same [and similar] clothes here can be found cheaper at other places on Steinway [ex: Easy Pickins]. Plus then you don't have to deal with a tiny dimly lit store and staff who not-so-subtly follow you around to make sure you don't shoplift their trashy club wear. I kid you not when I say I walked in and started looking around and every couple of steps I took further into the store, she followed the same number of steps behind me and stood there pretending to read a piece of paper in her hands. The clothes are cute, but cheap material for the price... which is true what the last reviewer stated (same clothes you find at other boutiques). Their staff is extremely rude, follows you around non-stop and gets an attitude if you don't purchase any. A few years ago, they used to sell so-called "authentic" designer bags. I onced bought a Gucci bag, whom the owner boastfully claimed that his bags are real. After a few months, the zipper broke and I brought it to Gucci in 5th Avenue to replace the zipper. I got a letter after a few weeks... stated that the Gucci bag purchased was a fake with a fake serial #. Don't shop here. read more

I went into the store because I saw a rack for $10. I picked out a few dresses and went to go try them on. The woman behind the counter said wait, called to another women out to look at the dresses. Since the dresses were on sale, they were "final sale" but I couldn't try them on. What a joke, if they are final sale, how will I know they would look good on me if I don't try them on. They said it is store policy that you can't try on final sale items. I won't be going back here since that policy doesn't make any sense. read more

Honestly never had a bad experience here. The staff is actually very nice and helpful. I don't think they are racist at all and every time I go and try on the outfits I pick the ladies give me an honest opinion and give me something better to try if it don't look right. I got my birthday outfit here and a few other things. I like this store a lot. Haven't had a bad experience yet. Keep it up ladies PS they don't seem judgmental at all, I usually go after work in my work uniform and that consists of man pants and baggy shirts bc I work for a city agency and they treat me like anyone else who walks in the store. read more

I love this place! Ok, so yea, you have to sift through some good-lord-i-wouldn't-have-worn-that-even-at-110-lbs.-and-23-years-old..,but the finds are well worth it. Perfect for the in-a-jam going out dress (usually $40 bucks a pop) and the fun tight jeans ($40 for those too). A few cute tops, although the gals here are belt-happy. I love this place because the dresses are cheap- which is good if your the type to buy a dress for one event and barely wear it again or hand it down to a family relative. This place never lets me down, I always find just my size and the type of dress I want for the occasion- whether it be elegant, casual, spring picnic day- whatever. The staff are nice, they help me with whatever I need when I ask them for their help. Most of the time I go in with my BF so they don't really bother me. One thing that is kinda sucky is that they have 2 fitting stalls and a very dim light, and the fact that there is only 2 fitting stalls makes that section of the store very crowded at times- but workable. read more

I went to Diva on Steinway Street because I had my job's holiday party. I must say that the manager at this store is passionate at what she does and of course business oriented. I picked a black dress with a way to open front (for my job) but I fell in love with the dress. She gave me a few suggestions on how I could wear it for my holiday party and also at a different occasion aka night out. I ended up buying the dress and additional clothing to make my look even better. I definitely suggest you guys to go to the store in Steinway. The manager will help, will not harass you and will help you improve your look. But most of all, she's is so sweet. I have been to all three stores in Forest Hills, Jackson Heights, and Steinway and although I dealt with nasty judgmental staff in the past, I most say that because of people like the manager in Steinway, I continue shopping here. read more

I am not an annoying, high maintenance shopper.... but I was both horrified and outraged by the way I was treated at this place. If I could give zero stars, I would. I only ended up at this DIVA botique because I was looking for some sleezy, fun, over the top outfit for my pin-up bachelorette party. The clothes here are very over priced, for being no better than a "Rainbow" store quality. Cheap and everything is made in China. The saleswomen here are very pushy, and insisted on helping but when I told them what I was looking for, they couldn't help me and repeatedly tried to get me to buy things I didn't like. However, I relented and bought 2 items for my party and figured that I would RETURN what I didn't wear. When I went to return the clothes with the recepit and tags in place without a deordrant stain on either garment. The place said I was one day late and they wouldn't provide me with store credit or an exchange... even though only ONE week had passed. Then the manager tried to make me feel stupid by saying we have a sign (that is the size of a brochure and posted sneakily far to the left of the cashier. Not one person made it clear that the clothing was not refundable or returnable after one week. Not to mention they don't do returns EVER... and we aren't talking about sale items. If I buy something and decide I don't like it the next hour, I can't get my money back. Needless to say, I'm reporting them to consumer affairs. read more

August 30, 2016 I was in the forest hill location cause my daughter was sick I took her to urgent care as I was waiting for her prescription we was walking as we approach divas boutique I notice a white jumper one piece displayed in the window my older daughter dragged me in to try it on since I had to wait 30 mins for the meds. There was only two workers (female) there I tryed it on in a large it fit all in the right places. the zipper was broke I ask if they had another the young lady said no but we can order you another one and it will be sent to the store I told her if you ordering it ship it to my house cause I was throwing a all white retirement party for my mom. She said they don't ship to the house so I ask is there a website so I can do it myself she reply no. So I left and came back cause it was forty nine dollars so I placed my order using my chase card and I was told it will be there within 2 weeks as they took my name and number down in a notebook in the front. Three week went by I noticed no phone call nor text so I called them to find out did they have it or forgot to place the order they said we have it , it's a small right I said no I ordered a large. The worker told she will call the Astoria store cause that where it was coming from then they will call me the next day. I haven't received no call no text no apology. Now it one week until my event I called them like I was a bill collector the manager stated she has my jumper with their part of the receipt. i told her I have ID and my bank statement cause I could find my receipt. There only two divas store in NYC but my statement says divas forest hill she tells me she can't give me my merchandise without a receipt. Now I spoke to the manager she was very rude and arrogant she didn't even let me explain anything she told me she has to speak with the cooperate office and they will get back to me plus they don't see they part of the receipt she did she it the other day cause someone already picked it up I said so you gave it it away cause don't you need a receipt I know they kept it for themselves I'm not crazy, but I didn't have time for the bullshit they was pulling cause I was days away now. Cause now they know I didn't have my receipt so they made a excuse now that it not there so I had to do a pop up on them I had my passport , driver license bank statement social security care proof of address and same bank card I originally used they said no they couldn't accept without a receipt so I ask for her to call the manager she state that she just left she saw how upset I was and suggest I buy another one they was holding in the back stock room. So now they double charging me for one item. One of the worker informed me that this happened to several customers and to call my bank and dispute the claim as she rang up the jumper she gave me 20% off I called my bank explain what just happened they immediately cancel my card credit my money.
