I have had Ditech for the entire length of my mortgage. Never once had a late payment. 100% on time and even paid some principal ahead of time. Did not notice the $36.00 yes just $36.00 difference in escrow payments monthly. Ditech not only charged me a $83.90 fee more than double what I missed on the statement, but also refused to allow me to speak to any manager, get a phone number to anyone minus the person who said and I quote because I recorded the call "I am lead here, there is no one else that can take your call. We do not have external email addresses, the best I can give you is fax # and you can address your grievance to Stacy and Tiffany" . NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT and one little error and they are charging my more than double how much was missed. Even though they said I understand it was an error ..."but our company policy is to NEVER waive a fee, even on the first time it is issued" Worst customer service... I too have had issues where I am allegedly late, but when they send me the documents to marry up my payments with their schedule, surprise surprise: I am on time! Now, I got a letter that I am being forced to have an escrow account, yet has a high percentage of equity owned, and have been paying my insurance and taxes ON MY OWN FOR YEARS. By far the worst mortgage company I have ever encountered. Truly a disappointment. And like always, my words will not be heard and no one at DiTech will do anything about this until 4-6 months in and only after people need to get aggressive. I just want to make my monthly payment and be left alone. read more

Customer Service at this company is extremely poor. Emails and faxes to them with new documents are not processed on time. If you call they will say it takes 48 hrs for them to get a fax or email located. However after you call them when that 48hrs has passed they will say: "we can't find it, attachments get lost, can you fax again"? Who uses fax and loses email attachments in 2019? If you ask for an escalation to management, they will say: "no one is available right now". This company is very incompetent and terrible to work with. read more

Very disappointed Ditech customer. I rarely get on this platform but feel slided by this company and want to share. I have been attempting to remove my PMI (mortgage insurance) as I have over 20% equity in my home. Ditech Financial strung me along for 5 weeks before telling me that my loan requires 25% equity which Ditech contacted me about regarding refinancing from another loan I had with them on my home. After 5 weeks of consistent follow up, Ditech advised me I have to be in my loan for at least 5 years or have 25% equity in the home in order for mortgage insurance to fall off. I decided not to refinance with another company as I expected my PMI to fall off after following their protocol. Ditech's response was, "I apologize that our representative did not advise you about needing 25% equity in order for you mortgage insurance to drop off." Completely INCOMPETENT customer service department...they simply CANNOT fix even the smallest issue that THEY CAUSED. Writing to them is also hopeless as you will have to wait more than a month to receive a generic form letter telling you that they will review the information and "get back to you" within 30 days....at which time you will receive yet another generic form letter telling you that they cannot find anything and you should call them instead....which is also a complete waste of time as the person on the phone will be clueless. Awful customer service. Worst financial institution I have ever dealt with. If you need to contact them for anything set aside an entire day or two as the wait times over the phone are outrageous. My family home had broken lines and the damage was over a certain dollar amount which required us to send the insurance check to Ditech and deal with their claims department. We have had a house in pieces waiting to receive our check back so we can proceed with the required repairs. Avoid this institution altogether. read more
