However, when things were not going as planned during our stay Central Hills acted as if they could care less. Prior to renting, we spoke with the office several times to make sure our group, who was riding motorcycles would have access to the cabin due to the roads not being paved. Central Hills assured us the road was accessible by motorcycle and that we would have no issues getting to and from the cabin. Well, the problem was during our stay a construction crew started working on the private access road to our cabin, which basically kept us from being able to leave one full afternoon and evening, it also kept us from getting back to the cabin for about twelve hours another day. According to Central Hills they had no idea the work was going to be done during our stay, and they did not seem to concerned about the issue. In my opinion, Kim Benning needs some work on his customer service skills. After two of us called the office and told them we were unable to leave the cabin due to the construction, Kim finally came out to talk with us with his smug upper class like attitude and assured us the issue would be resolved, and then he left. We never heard from him again, and the issue was resolved three days later when the construction crew finished their work on the road. When we returned home I emailed Kim Benning in reference to our group receiving a refund on a portion of our rental fee. Kim Benning replied to me stating he will only deal with the person who's name the property was rented under. No apology, nothing, just a one sentence reply. This should tell you what to expect from Central Hills Real Estate and Kim Benning. I work hard for my money and vacation time as i'm sure you do. Weather you are paying $50.00 a night or $180.00 a night, as we did you should be treated with respect and as a customer, not as a bottom feeder! But if you want to pay top notch rates for bottom notch customer service gamble on staying with Central Hills Real Estate, Hill City , SD. Personally I had better luck with the slots in Deadwood if that tells you anything! If you are a motorcycle rider as we all are, show some respect for your fellow rider and take your hard earned money elsewhere.
