No 2 Combo with coconut rice, one tempeh dish, one vegetable dish and one tofu dish - delish!!!

This place is truly a Hidden Gem! I live in Metuchen and I never knew until now that they have a kitchen and serve hot prepared foods! So I've been missing out for these past 3 years since they opened! Not only do they serve food, but they had three vegan options when I went today! They even make their own tempeh from Scratch!!! And it has a really deep and complex flavor - nothing at all like grocery store tempeh. Their food is Amazing. The flavors really pop! All three dishes had their own unique flavor. And the coconut rice was excellent on its own accord! This is literally the best vegan food I've had in NJ. And I've lived in NJ for about 15 years and been vegan longer than that. I would eat here every day if I could.

I was in the market to try something new and I don't think I have ever had Indonesian food before. When I heard about this location I was very intrigued. I stopped by and felt very welcomed. Dita was patient and even asked me questions as she explained what different items available were. It was a place that seemed open to share what they had, which was very pleasant. Their meat was certified halal which is a plus in the area. Once I did order my food, it looked familiar to me and I had an expectation of what it tasted like. It was a surprise. Not bad but different than what I expected. I also purchased this jasmine tea juice box from the fridge which was a welcome addition to my meal. It is worth a try if you are in the area and want to try something new, but it is really up to taste if you'll enjoy it. If you hang around the shop a little, the couple running the business will try to talk to you if its not busy and just reminisce about things, which was very comforting.

This is a small Indonesian market really close to downtown Metuchen. I saw Ditas Market on TikTok and sent the video to my friend who always says there's no authentic Indonesian food in NYC. I've never had Indonesian food so I was ready for the adventure. I am so glad I went here! It's a small, cute building with 3 or 4 parking spots in the back. When we walked in, I noticed all of the cool Indonesian snacks they had! They also had fresh food in the refrigerator anyone can buy. My friend bought so many snacks that we needed another bag to fit everything! In the back of the store, they have fresh food you can order. The menu is rotated everyday. I will say, I was shocked to see that I had a bunch of options to try out! There were 3 vegetarian sides, 3 non vegetarian sides, and 3 rices. I got the Orek Tempe (tempeh curry,) Rendang Jamur (Mushroom curry,) and coconut rice. For the 2 sides and one rice, it was only $11.99! I fell in love with the orek tempe, I have never had tempeh like that! It went so well with the coconut rice too. The rendang jamur was good as well, but I think the orek tempe was my favorite overall. It was such a hearty meal which I was definitely in dire need of. The people who work there are so sweet too, they spoke with my friend in Indonesian and explained what each dish was made of so I could choose what I wanted. I've already made plans with my friend to come back here and try some of their other food. 10/10 would recommend!

Dita's Market is an Indonesian market with an on site kitchen offering pre-cooked food and groceries available. It's a welcoming addition to the neighborhood where previously Indonesian goods was only available at Toko Balindo in Colonia or in Philadelphia. Only 3 mins away from Lotte Market! They have a food court-like stand where you can choose what pre-cooked food you'd like to bring home. We had their half size rendang ($7.50) and sapi garo ($7.00) for dinner at home. Very flavorful paired and well with their sambal ijo. Credit cards are accepted but there are discounts offered if you pay by cash. Parking available at the back of the building. Looking forward to trying more of their entrees in the future!

This place is the real deal! You will find tasty, authentic Indonesian food here. It's a lovely, small market with a kitchen in the back - so you can come here, shop, and take home a meal to eat. We tried two chicken dishes, and it was very good. We also had the pandan jelly pudding for dessert, and we were not disappointed.

This market is the only restaurant offering authentic homemade, cooked-on-premise Indonesian dishes in Central NJ (the other store such as Balindo in Colonia only offers pre-cooked catered packaged meals). The restaurant/grocery store combo is packed in a cute little house a few blocks from the Metuchen train station, away from the bustling main downtown. It also offers delish side snacks and drinks (also homemade) and a fair variety of Indonesian packaged snacks. The food?? It's a definite must try! They're deeeelicious, authentic, and yet, compared to the more typical Indonesian cooking, more thoughtful in salt and oil that I felt that they might've taken a healthier-food approach to Indonesian cooking. You can choose a 2-side ($11.50) or 3-side ($13.99) meal with rice. The menu selection changes often, and on the day I visited they have 8 choices from the more standard Indonesian fare like Rendang (spicy braised beef) and Gulai Sayur (collard greens cooked in coconut curry), to the more region-specific delights from Manado (North Sulawesi) such as Sapi Garo (marinated beef cubes that serve a delicious spicy punch), and Ayam Woku (spicy chicken immersed in lemngrass sauce). I tried the 2 above and the less "dangerous" (i.e., spicy) but equally delicious Sayur Nangka (jackfruit in coconut broth). You can add accent to your selection with the sambal ijo (green chili paste) or merah (red chili) and you can own an epic exotic dinner at an really competitive cost. To add flavor to (any) meal I have at home, I also ordered the amazingly delicious Abon Ikan (shredded fish cooked and dried) that were just recently made. There are other snacks and drinks (pictured) that I have to restrain myself from getting this time (will try some other time). Parking at the back lot. Super friendly ladies serving with smiles.

small p lot but good they have a p lot. main Street can be busy

Dita's is part specialty market for Indonesian packaged food, part takeout restaurant. I've never purchased any of the market items because from the moment I walk in the door, the delicious smell of the prepared food grabs ahold of me and I'm drawn to the back of the store. There are several prepared foods available, and it changes up each day. There are always several vegetarian items available. I love that the food is hot and ready because it makes it so easy to pick something up on the way home from work. I always get the rice and 3 veggie combo so I can try different things. The portions are very generous, enough for 2 people to share or leftovers the next day. I've only tried the veggie options at Dita's, but everything I've tried has been absolutely delicious, with so many layers of flavor. It's not the comfort food I grew up with, but it hits the same spot in my soul and makes me so happy when I eat it. I don't think I could pick a favorite dish, but I highly recommend getting anything they do with tempeh. Even if you think you don't like tempeh, the ways they prepare it here will make you change your mind! Their kale in coconut curry is sure to convert anyone who thinks they hate kale! Do yourself a favor and try this place, you'll regret not going sooner.

Left over from Nasi Campur (Mixed Rice). It's mixed of everything they have that day. Rendang, Ayam suwir, Ayam Waku, Tempe, etc.

The food is delicious. Went there with my family for lunch. You can sit down to eat but its more like a take out restaurant vibe. The menu changes so make sure to call before you go. I definitely will come back with my family for meal.

** Great Selection and Fresh Produce!**…read more Lotte Market is one of the better Asian grocery stores around--definitely a go-to if you're looking for a wide variety of Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and Southeast Asian ingredients under one roof. The store is clean, well-organized, and the produce section is surprisingly fresh with lots of options you don't usually find in regular supermarkets. The seafood section is a standout--plenty of fresh fish and shellfish, and they even clean or cut it for you on request. The meat section is also well-stocked with cuts popular in Asian cuisine. You'll find everything from marinated bulgogi to hotpot essentials. There's a great range of snacks, noodles, sauces, frozen dumplings, and ready-to-eat meals. The in-store bakery and food court are added bonuses--try the Korean fried chicken or fresh buns! Parking is usually decent, but weekends can get crowded. Prices are a little on the higher side compared to smaller ethnic stores, but the convenience and variety make up for it. Service and billing slower at times Still, highly recommended for any Asian grocery shopping needs!

The least crowded of the newer Asian markets…read more They're a little more out of the way and not as trendy and fun to shop in as H Mart but there isn't the same congestion and chaos here. Sometimes H Mart feels like it was purposefully designed to have that chaos in mind, like you're meant to get overwhelmed by the sheer amount and variety of goods they offer, to meander through their tighter layout to discover something. Adds to the bustling atmosphere. Kind of like Costco and Trader Joe's. You're always going to leave buying something you never intended to. H Mart tends to cost more than the other Asian markets and caters more towards the youth. Lotte has the cleanliness of H Mart with nearly as much ethnic goods as them, if not more in the South and Southeast Asian department. Their overall design and layout is simpler so it's easier and faster to find what you need. They have pretty consistent sales to boot. Peace and quiet, great for elders and families. Lotte remains to be the most balanced and the IDEAL in terms of shopping experience, variety, quality, and value of all of the Asian markets. Go to the back past 6pm for 30-50% off discounted prepared food. I personally find some of their items, like kimbap, to be better than H Mart's. Food court is also significantly less busy than H Mart's.

After a sobering visitation for a beloved family member within New Jersey state, we patronized Kam Man Food to pass time while waiting for a cafe to open for the day. There is a free parking lot shared with neighboring businesses. Kam Man Food sits at 511 Old Post Road shopping complex. There is baked goods and a prepared pre-cooked Dim Sum items, a fish market, and some Chinese bamboo plants. My party found Kam Man Food extortionate high priced for a lot of items. Chinese vegetable, bok choy is $4.99 per pound where I can purchase this for $3.26 per pound key market price also in Queens, NYC. One whole red snapper fish, the display signage was $12.00 per piece where this same fish in Queens, NYC would be $10.50. Looking back, our sales receipt honestly state an utter disdain extortionate $15.07 for one whole red snapper fish!! Oh! This business practice price gouging where price is exorbitant high. We suffered from intense buyer's remorse. Cashiers appeared disgruntled with an melancholy indifferent attitude, as noted by a Yelper. Respectfully, I was not impressed with this Asian supermarket and neither was my party. Sales receipts are physically printed in English and Traditional Chinese. There is a small seating area with tables near the exit. Store policy: No refund. "Fish, meat, bread, produce, and refrigerated/frozen items may be exchanged within 2 hours of purchase w/ receipt. Other items within 7 days w/ receipt." Nota Bene: Effective May 4, 2022, New Jersey implemented one of the nation's strictest bag bans which prohibits single-use plastic bags and paper bags at large grocery stores. Bring your own re-useable shopping bags.
