I filled out a very, very appreciative and detailed review and 'posted' it (per the 'post' button on the form) but it evidently wasn't received there. Was it supposed to go straight to my Medstar or some other part of the organization? No matter what, my review was as to the quality care I received in every way - concern, attention, care of my injury, and all around wonderful treatment. Other than a computer glitch, which I doiubt since all I had to do was click the 'post' button, I don't know what happened to it.. I have sent reviews whenever I went to Urgent Care. They are the best of the best on every level. I am sorry you didn't receive my post because it was a bit more detailed, but my words recognized what I mention above. It's been ~6 hours since the visit, no call, no results. Logged into their site - no after visit summary, no treatment recommendation. The clinic has no pager, no voicemail to get a follow up from the doctor or staff after hours and only a typical message to call 911 in emergecy. Result: no diagnosis, no prescription, no visit summary, like she hasn't been there.

**** Update**** I have decided to update this review after…read morethe manager reach out to me to clear up the situation. As I mentioned in my original review it was truly a shocking moment to me that I refused to believe had happened considering how long I have been a patient of NWNP. Northwest Nurse Practitioner Associates to me represented everything that a family practice should embody and that is now missing in the health care system : empathy, compassion, knowledge, detailed-oriented, patience, confidence, trust, passion. I found all of the above qualities visiting Erin every years for the past 7 years and that last encounter (over the phone) with the manager was the complete opposite of what I was accustomed to hence my disbelief. I have the utmost respect for her and what she has built over the years and my decision to update my review is solely based on those 7 years. I do not believe that one incident should erase the consistent positive interactions and great care I have received from NWNP over the years. I want to believe that there was a miscommunication between me and the manager and it was not his intend to make me feel unheard. I appreciate him taking the time to reach out and write an apology email.

And that was true during that time. But something changed significantly as she transitioned to a sort of direct primary care practice and functional medicine practice. The practice seemed more impersonal. For example she tried to direct me away from monitoring my liver scores when I started taking statins. Although she had previously had the position that medications always have risks in promoting alternative medicine considerations and I had told her of my brother's death from non alcoholic cirrhosis due unmonitored prescription of cholesterol medication she tried to talk me out of the monitoring. At one point I had told her I didn't want to die from cirrhosis her reply was that there were worse ways to die.

A nurse passing by told me they had been closed for months. But my confirmation, their website and google all have same address. I've been about a handful of times now, every time I get sick and need help because riding it out is no longer an option. I really love this place. Its a hidden gem for me, rather than going to Medstar in Hyattsville where they warn you about wait times ahead of your appt. Customer service is always great, Nurses are friendly. It's a one man operation, Dr. Lartevi. Sometimes you get lucky and theres no wait, sometimes you will wait, but not too long. It just depends how many people are there due to walk ins. It's still worth it to me because it feels a bit personal, rather than a white box you sit and wait in. There are personal touches to the office that makes it feel a little homey. Theres always good music playing and a cute record collection in the waiting room w record players and dvd's. Bob Ross on the tv. I always have great experience with Dr.Lartevi, good bedside manner, will talk to you with respect, always listens and he always says, "if you dont feel better after ____, call me".....Recently one of the numbers I had for this office wasnt working and I thought the office shut down, I got SO SAD, thats how much I know I love this place. It's not closed, one of the numbers I had was just wonky. WHEW.

The nurse took my vitals and then told me to give a urine sample; I had to tell her that this was not a urine test. Then at 11:15, 45 minutes after my appointment and 2 hours after I called to make the appointment, they told me all their test kits that I needed were expired and that I should go to the other Medics USA. They claimed they would call that location to let them know I was coming, but as far as I could tell that did no good, as I still waited over 90 minutes at the second location (where service was even worse, will write a separate review).

I really cannot stand this doctors office but the only reason I've continued to come back is…read morebecause it's right down the street from my house and I haven't yet found a new primary. I can count on every time I come in getting seen at least 45 minutes after my appointment time despite the place never appearing busy. The male nurse does not know how to take blood properly and not only hit a nerve causing my whole arm to become sore (which never happens if taken properly), but I became extremely sick and light headed because of that and because it was so hot in the office. After I was left with a huge bruise on my arm. The male doctor (I'm bad with names) is one of those doctors that start by naming all the most serious conditions that could possibly be related to your issue first to freak you out and then ends with "or it could be a lab error or fluke". Says you need to come back so he can run a full battery of tests, but then when you do he claims the issue is actually not remotely related to what he originally freaked you out about in the first place. In my case it went from you could possibly have Hepititus C to "Oh it's because you're drinking too much vegan protein powder", but let's take more blood to confirm. All in all I wouldn't recommend this place unless you are in dire need or have no other options.
