When I called CenturyLink, it took me several minutes, at least 30 minutes, just to reach a live representative after going through a cumbersome automated system. The representative did not know what he was doing regarding the transfer of the home phone number to a cellphone, so I told him to just cancel the service and my account. When I asked him to cancel service and close the account, he kept me on for over another 30 minutes trying to keep me as a customer. He finally closed and canceled my account and disconnected the telephone service, after trying to tell me that I would be charged an extra $99 if I didn't return any equipment - there was no equipment to return, as this was an old telephone landline. I tried to cancel the service and account online, but CenturyLink's website was down! This whole process was a nightmare; NO ONE has over an hour to spend with a company that deliberately gives their customers the run-around and desperately tries to keep them by lying to them and deceiving them. I do NOT recommend CenturyLink of Phoenix, Arizona to anyone. Look elsewhere for your telecommunications needs (phone, internet, cable).
