If I was rating on check in alone, it would be 1 Star! I'll get to that in a minute. But the rooms were clean, staff friendly, easy walk or shuttle bus to the train/park and good food at the saloon made it a little better.
The walk from the park is about 20 minutes, that's with a 4 year old. So not bad. The shuttle came both times right away and that was only 5 minutes to the park.
We arrived on a Friday to the hotel around 2:45pm. First had to figure out where to go - we walked and so walked into the middle of the old west and had no idea where to go. Finally arrived at main building and I had to wait in line, got to the front and received paperwork to fill out - paperwork asking for all guests name and email etc seemed like a waste. Got back into line after filling out a paper for EVERY guest and only 2 people were in front of me so I was like score! NOPE. Took FOREVER. And they had 5 people checking people in. I waited AN HOUR! At one point three people were helping one person. I FINALLY got up to the front and the guy seemed confused kept asking me questions about reservation, etc maybe that's why, they are all confused? Nice, but confused.
Rooms were fine, we went in February so not hot or cold. Bed was not comfortable ... yikes - the pull out was better. Housekeeping did a real nice job!
Ate in the saloon one night, good pizza.
Dropped luggage at luggage check on last day so we could go to park.
I mean it's one of the cheaper ones - but did it's job. I may splurge a bit next time and stay at a nicer little bit closer one. read more
