At worst vegan onigiri can be bland rice balls with a measly piece of picked plum, but here the dish is elevated to new heights. The seasoning of the shiso-avocado variety makes even a bite of plain rice an absolute pleasure. The Cali onigiri packs more of a flavor punch with a vegetable medley, and of course the classic ume has a pleasant tartness at its core. Must try!!
