Unfortunately, I was very disappointed by the billing experience. During the consultation, Dr. Namazie examined the inside of my daughter's nose. I later received a bill for a separately billed nasal endoscopy, which I had no idea was being performed during the consultation. The paperwork I signed stated that there could be an additional charge if a nasal endoscopy was performed. However, I did not understand that the routine examination taking place during the consultation would be considered a separately billable procedure. At no point during the visit was it explained that a separate procedure was about to be performed or that it would result in an additional charge. I've taken my daughter to several other rhinoplasty consultations with surgeons in Los Angeles and have never been charged either a consultation fee or a separate procedural fee for the examination. Because of those prior experiences, I reasonably assumed that examining the inside and outside of her nose was simply part of the consultation. I contacted the office afterward to explain the misunderstanding, but I was told that because I had signed the consent form, I was responsible for the charge. While I understand their position, I wish there had been clearer communication before the procedure was performed so I could have made an informed decision. I was also hoping to see before-and-after photos of the surgeon's rhinoplasty patients, as every other consultation we attended included them. None were shown during our visit, which made it more difficult to evaluate whether this was the right surgeon for my daughter. I'm sharing this experience so other patients know to ask whether any examination performed during a consultation will be billed as a separate procedure and whether there will be any additional out-of-pocket costs before consenting.

I called and spoke to one of the girls in the office. The lady I spoke to went out of her way to get me in the very next day in between appointments. I am very grateful to her. I've had three visits since. First we got rid of the infection. Once the infection was gone, Dr. Armin was able clarify how big the rupture was. My last visit we did a hearing test My hearing is get better. Lastly, they took my medicare, which is great. After the first location was cancelled, oddly enough this location booked me for a more recent appointment than West Hills. Intake was quick. I am an MD and this is the mark of a physician who practices true patient advocacy. I am not a listed patient of the clinic and called the office because I was trying to get an emergency appointment because I had sudden loss of hearing in my right ear. Even though I am not a paying patient, my message was passed on to Dr. Cecilio who had the staff immediately call me to send me to the right clinic that handles emergency hearing loss. That clinic scheduled me for visit within 1 hour and they discovered that the hearing my right ear is very seriously diminished with a combination of both conductive and middle ear pathology. I am an MD and know how busy the practice must be. I incredibly grateful to Dr. Cecilio for taking the time to review the case details I left her in a message and direct me immediately to the care that I needed. She was payed nothing for this action and shows herself to be a true advocate. As an MD who does not even know her, I look at the reviews and disagree with them. She has to charge for her visits and it is a brave MD who tells people that they don't need surgery right away if other medications can be tried first. Also, not all surgeries are successful with any doctor, especially ones who will be brave enough to take on harder cases. The way you treat a patient that is not even payable is the true mark of her professionalism and ability to identify clinical urgency, which is the true showing of her character.
