Last time I went my daughter was very ill in hospital. Told them I had to have a working phone for that reason; they just laughed. Now I noticed that spectrum has been charging my account monthly for a tablet and it's service. I don't have a tablet nor have used a tablet. Inorder to cancel that I was required to pay off the tablet and 1 more monthly payment. After letting them know again I don't have one, they just wouldn't cancel until they got $93 more from me. The technicians are knowledgeable but don't even have cable boxes on the trucks - I had to go to Spectrum to pick up my own 22 miles away. The technicians have time limits on how long they can stay - - there is very poor communications between technicians and home office. Our guy spent 2 hours only to realize he was trying to connect us to the wrong type of service. Then another day to connect a box that we were told takes just a few minutes to connect ourselves. The 2 nd tech took 1-1/2 hours to do it . Imagine how long it would take me ? The capabilities are not up to par with other cable company features. This is a prime example of what happens with monopolies

    We had Spectrum for years with very few problems, then we moved to Kingsport and it has been a…read morecircus. First they sent us a modem we didn't need and then wanted us to give them the modem we purchased in exchange. We finally got that straightened out. Then we lost our Internet service because we were told our modem was too old for them to ping. Next we were sent a bill for equipment we didn't return after we were specifically told they did not want their the equipment for their old service back. It had been sitting in our garage for nearly 20 years. Next we relented and agreed to use their modem which it was supposed to activate using the Spectrum app, which of course it does not so in the last three days we have had to call technical support twice and have them get things working. Today it took approximately 45 minutes for the tech to get us back online. The single good thing about Spectrum is once you finally get through the techs on the phone are great. They are extremely patient and give clear instructions. so in the end I guess Spectrum's clown show at least gave us a chance to experience good tech support! The single thing I would suggest is not to waste time with Spectrum's online chats and chat bot responses. They are redundant and circular. Call them on the phone. PS. You will need your account number and security code.

I just moved here and my…read morelandlord has Spectrum I really don't wanna have spectrum because I had it in California and their service is shitty. So I called Spectrum to set up service and they told me that I just have to say that I rent a room and I need a new connection. I told the guy on the phone when I called Spectrum, I want strictly Internet I'm not going to change my phone nor am I going to buy TV. I told him if he kept going on and on I was gonna hang up on him and that's exactly what I did. So I came here in person and told them what I was told, that I would just have to get my own connection And that I would have it set up as I rent a room. She said no you can't make any changes to the account because you're not the account holder. I explained to her that I have nothing to do with my landlord and I would need a new connection. I don't pay his bills he doesn't pay my bills and we are not affiliated. I said that I need a new connection as in a new router. She said she can't do that unless my landlord comes in person with his ID. Screw that. I told her that she should call someone higher than her to verify that this is what I was told and she said she can't do it.

I went back the next morning because the FB page that was coming up was an old one that hasn't been used in years & my old phone had all my passwords stored but couldn't charge. The woman(Darlene,I think that's her name), was extremely RUDE,rolling her eyes,making smart remarks, all because I asked her to recharge my old phone,telling me to go buy a battery,that she couldn't recharge the old phone I explained to her that the Asst.Mgr had charged my old phone the day before,so why couldn't she? Her response was that it was a waste of time,then called her Asst.Mgr,"Wonder Woman" which was rude as well. I don't know who the MGR is,but this woman does NOT need to be working with the public! Then,as I was leaving,she said," I know you're mad,but you have a good day", then smiled & rolled her eyes.i told her," You shouldn't be acting like this to a customer who just bought a phone & you should be ashamed of how you have acted ", she just kept smiling as I left I will NEVER let this evil person wait on me again & management needs to get her straight or fire her!

That service is not good and I don't think it has anything to do with the spectrum people but the development that I live in. I had to add a Bunch of other channels to augment my communities account and for that I have received great help in managing Kathy Moore at store 5666 on Tunnel Road in Asheville, made great headway to help me understand how to get the best experience from my account. I really appreciate that kind of personalized service and for that I give her four stars.
