I wish I had thought to look up this company on Yelp before I booked a transfer from Cancun to the Isla Mujeres ferry terminal last week. Similar to a few other reviews, we waited for 45 minutes at the airport and they never showed. They don't have a phone number and their "live chat" was non-responsive. Terrible experience! We had to wait for about 1 hour to get our luggage. When we came out of the airport the driver was gonna and he did not answer the phone or replied to messages. Terrible service! We were picked up at the airport and driven to the ferry to go to Isla Mujeres. We ordered and paid in advance for a 6 pk of corona. When I asked about it, he apologized and said they overlooked it. When we got to Isla, there was nobody there to take us to our hotel. It clearly stated on our email that they would be there to take us to Izla Hotel. We had to pay for a taxi, even though we had already paid in advance for this service. Fast forward to the day we are scheduled to leave--our email said they would pick us up at Hotel Izla at 12:29. Nobody showed up. We, once again, had to get a taxi to the ferry. While on the ferry, we got a phone call saying they waited for us in Cancun and had left!! They said they would return to pick us up, but charged us a $75 reschedule fee!!! This is absurd when it was their fault!! He was waiting for us at the ferry and took us to the airport. We were charged $200 for the service (4 passengers), and a $75 reschedule fee, not to mention the beer that we didn't get. Poor business. I would give zero stars but the option isn't there. Rip off!! After arriving in Puerto Vallarta on Oct 11, our party of 5 waited for over an hour, called numerous times and either got a busy signal, no answer, or one time getting a guy who said he would check on the driver's location and call us back....he never did. VIP Services at the airport could not locate ANYONE from this company or help us get through on the phone to reach any representatives. We were stuck in the heat, drenched in sweat, for over an hour, and had to make other arrangements for all 5 of us and all of our luggage to get to our hotel....AND make new arrangements to go back to the airport when we leave. There has been NO response to the emails sent addressing this...or even a response to the auto- email sent to "confirm" our ride back. Absolutely no communication....no thanks, we'll take our business to someone more reliable!!! read more

We booked a private transfer In 2019. We had to cancel do to Covid. They said they would credit my account vs a refund. I have been trying to contact them for 2 months now to schedule/use the credit and no one will help me. I have forwarded them the email and also filled out a help/contact us form. The service is very professional, the vehicle was clean, comfortable, we did not have trouble bringing our kids, they gave us car seats and water. We had a shuttle booked for a 1:30 PM pickup from our hotel in Tulum to Cancun airport. We got a call at 1 pm that our shuttle was 15-20 minutes late. At 1:50, we began calling and no one from the company picked up for the next 30 minutes. No updates. No communication. And at 2:30 we had to grab taxis off the street for over double what we could have booked through any other shuttle company. They eventually sent an email say the driver would arrive "soon", but we were already on our way. And this lack of communication during such a delay is completely unacceptable. We have a friend that may miss her flight now. Do not let this happen to you. Do not book Discovery Mundo for any reason. I do see that Discovery Mundo reads these reviews. If this truly is a rare occurrence and you'd like to make it right, refund us the cost of the two taxis we used - $100 each - instead of the cost of the shuttle (booked by Ash Carr). This would prove that our experience actually was atypical. Otherwise your response and apologies are worthless. For other yelp readers, I will update this post if they actually do make it right by covering our cab fares. read more

We arranged for Discovery Mundo to meet us at the Cancun Airport and drive us to our resort in Playa del Carmen. We also arranged for them to take us back to the airport. This is the company to use! They are waiting for you to arrive outside the airport with your name on a sign. They have nice, clean silver vehicles ready with cold beverages of your choice. The staff are friendly and efficient. They were 10 minutes early for our return ride. I highly recommend Discovery Mundo. They are reliable, safe, friendly and efficient. read more

The driver met us at the Cancun airport.They had emailed all the pickup instructions before our trip. Early on our second day, we had a family emergency back home and had to make fast changes to our return trip. We were about an hour south of the airport. Discovery Mundo responded quickly and had us back to the Cancun airport. I truly appreciate their service and will use them again. read more

Online booking was super easy and flawless. Upon arriving at Cancun airport, there was confusion about my reservation as one of the guy's had my name on his list and the other didn't, so that stalled my departure to my destination while having to stand around in the very hot weather waiting for it to be sorted out for 10+ minutes. My trip back to the airport at the end of my vacation was perfect -- I arrived 15 minutes early and my transportation was already there and ready to go! I booked our RT from Cancun to Ultamar Ferry AND RT tickets for the ferry to Isla Mujeres. No issues being picked up at the airport...only had to wait a few minutes for the driver. He was not very friendly but not a big deal. We arrive at the ferry terminal, get our luggage, he takes our picture holding the sign, and tries to leave. We ask him about the ferry tickets and he motions for us to get in line...he doesn't have them. We go to the line and present our "Tour" paperwork and the ladies at the desk have no clue what it is. THE DRIVER WAS SUPPOSE TO HAVE OUR TICKETS. We tried for over 30 minutes to get ahold of someone with DiscoveryMundo by calling the phone number they provided AND the email...I finally used What's App and received a response of "Ok, I'm going to issue a refund. Please buy them at the ferry terminal." and "I'm sorry this happened to you. I will talk to manager and ask for a compensation for you."....here we are 5 days later and still NO REFUND or response to any of my emails to customercare@discoverymundo.com. We ended up purchasing RT tickets directly from Ultramar and getting on the ferry an hour later. Thankfully, we had no issues getting picked up on the return trip and being taken to the airport with plenty of time to get thru the check-in line, security, eating, and finding our gate. I was excited to find Discovery Mundo online and make my transportation ahead of time for my trip to Cancun (Isla Mujeres). I booked the transportation and tour package that covered ferry transportation to the Island. I called before I booked and asked what if I am delayed and was told no problem. The flight I booked was forced to make an emergency landing and I was rebooked on a flight that arrived 3 hours later. When Discovery was called they said sorry not coming to pick you up. When I got to the ferry they refused the ticket provided with the tour portion I purchased and I was forced to buy another ticket. Returning I got an email saying they would pick me up at a 11:45pm when the correct time was 11:45AM. I sent an email the evening before but did not receive a reply until I was already headed home. Now they refuse to refund money even though none of the services were provided. read more

*UPDATE* Since leaving my original review, Discoverymundo encouraged me to use them again, this time, on them. My fiancé and I recently came back from a vacation to an all inclusive resort in Cancun, and I took Discoverymundo up on their offer. They definitely went out of their way to make things right. The drivers were very courteous when we arrived at the airport (and easy to find in the sea of taxis and other transportation companies), and they took us an a very comfortable (and aptly air-conditioned) van, offering us cold bottled water on the drive to the hotel. The pickup service was even easier, we saw him arrive at the hotel early, and he waited and greeted us at the entrance to our hotel. The entire experience was totally different than I had encountered in my original review, and if what they say is true (they are no longer using 3rd party drivers/vans/etc), I would use them again. Horrible service upon arrival there was nobody waiting for me another person from a different company was trying to help us find out what happen we waited for an hour trying to figure out what to do this man asked his dad to give us a ride! I called the customer service number and it was no longer in service. Then they have the nerve to send me an email saying they have cancelled my ride back and issued a full refund. Everything started of well with the booking and the organization leading up to our pickup in Cozumel. We were told to expect someone with a sign with our name, nope, had to go around asking different people who was picking us up. Next, they said that someone would come to our hotel to give us our return voucher for the trip back from our hotel for a fully paid trip that we already received a voucher. Their rep in Cozumel didn't show up at the promised time and we finally had to call them. When they did arrive, they were supposed to ask us if we wanted to partake of other tours. They then proceeded to give us a taxi voucher for the ride back. Mind you, we booked a private car transfer and not a taxi ride. They then proceed to email us and text us to confirm a pick up time for our return trip to the airport when they had already given us a taxi voucher and told to use it when we were ready to leave for the airport!!! First negative review ever. Extremely disappointing service. I had used Discovery Mundo previously and had a great experience. However, on this occasion, our driver never showed up. We had already paid for service. Our flight was on time and we looked for our driver many times, per the instructions in the e-mail. After not locating our driver, we made multiple phone calls, per Discovery Mundo's instructions, and when no one answered, left a voicemail and e-mail. After about an hour we secured alternative transportation to our hotel. We did not receive a response from Discovery Mundo until we arrived at our hotel. When I requested a refund for the no show driver, I did not receive any response until I followed up 5 days later. At that time they indicated that the driver had waited for two hours and could not issue a refund until they figured out "what happened" despite my detailed explanation, complete with phone and e-mail records showing our attempt to contact them. I still have not received any reply from Discovery Mundo regarding whether they will issue a refund. It is a shame that they are willing to sacrifice a previously satisfied customer, and frequent traveler, for $40. read more
