It started off with a cup of vegetable soup that, with the addition of just the right amount of crumbled up Ritz crackers, warmed my soul to the core. Next came a deliciously prepared grilled baloney sandwich with melted cheese on a toasted brioche bun. This sandwich took me back to my youth, much the way Ego was transported when he ate the ratatouille dish created by Rene in the movie. The masterpiece was made even more amazing by perfectly seasoned, fried shoestring potatoes. The climax to the meal was a masterful rendition of cake and ice cream presented in the form of a heavenly piece of devil's food chocolate cake topped with the creamiest of peanut butter frosting that would make a Reese's peanut butter cup weep. All of this was paired with a scoop of spumoni. An amalgamation of the most delicious chocolate, pistachio and cherry ice cream. The likes of which I have never experienced before. My siblings and I visit often. She likes the meals and staff, and is very busy with the activities. She has made a number of friends there - and that was critical after my father passed. They have done a lot of remodeling in the past few years, and the common areas are beautiful and well maintained. There is a fitness center and pool, a pub, a library, a small store and a bank. She is Catholic and attends daily Mass. When my father was in home hospice, the staff was especially attentive and caring. I cannot say enough good things about her experience there - and about what we as family have seen when with her.

They do a mediocre cleaning job on residents' apartments. On multiple occasions, the cleaning supplies I keep in my grandfathers closet (which I have purchased because the apartment never seems very clean), have been stolen. I would never recommend this place or want to live here myself. One positive thing I can say is that the front desk staff and food waitstaff are wonderful and helpful.

The staff is caring, experienced, loving and their communication to family is phenomenal! We can go home at night and sleep well knowing that our loved one is cared for and loved. They have activities all day long for the residents to participate in that keeps them engaged. You don't EVER find nurses/staff congregated together talking or ignoring residents, which is exactly what we saw at other facilities. Their rooms and facility itself are clean and beautifully cared for and decorated. The food makes our loved one feel at home with beautifully prepared meals that she says taste as amazing as they look. If you are looking for a place that will treat your loved one like their own parent, look no further!

Our search for an appropriate memory care for my dad ended when we met the team at Azura. We just…read moreknew this was the right place. There is a positive energy with the team members here and they seem to try as hard as possible. My dad is not always agreeable to getting help with his bathing, medications, changing of clothes, incontinence, etc. but the team tries different interventions and makes every re-attempt at things as comfortable as they can for him. The home is clean, it smells pleasant, and it feels like home away from home. He started in the early memory class but then needed to move in full time when he no longer could participate and it was too difficult for his wife to take care of him at home. We have excellent communication because there are registered nurses, an assistant director and a good medical team that provide the care. The outdoor courtyard is a bonus. I visit once a month for a span of 2 days (living in Chicago), so I eat the meals, watch him in activities, and see how he is cared for.
