I went to see if Molar 18 could be saved by a Root Canal but after taking the CBCT Scan ($200 out…read moreof pocket) and another bitewing PA X-Ray, Dr. Elizabeth Choybowski informed me that the tooth would not be a good candidate for a root canal. She began talking about TMJ which I have never had and made strong suggestions to see a specific TMJ specialist across the street. Actually, Dr. Chybowski should have suggested seeing an ENT (ears, noser and throat doctor) where they could make an accurate diagnosis and do the necessary accurate diagnostic tests and so forth. Also, TMJ is not covered by Medicare and most private employer sponsored health insurance. I appreciated the fact Dr. Chybowski was honest in telling me that my tooth would be better off being extracted which they do not handle. But I did want to speak with Dr. Choyboyski a bit further and she seemed very hurried and left. So I made my own appointment with an Oral Surgeon at Great Midwest Oral Surgery. I asked WI Endodontics-Mayfair to send the CBCT Scan as well as the PA Bitewing for that Molar to them. They did send the CBCT Scan but Greater Midwest Oral Surgery could not open the file and view the CBCT Scan. They also mentioned that they had three other patIents from WI Endodontic-Mayfair that CBCT Scans could not be opened/viewed. I called WI Endo back and told them that. All they could say was the Oral Surgeon's Office did not have the correct software to view this $200 CBCT Scan. No way was I going to pay another $200 for another CBCT at the Oral Surgeon's Office too. The Dr. Groeckermann, Oral Surgeon was kind enough to offer to do it for free given the circumstances. I did some research regarding this and found out in the State of WI, Endodontics are required to send the required software disc along with their CBCT Scan. WI Endodontic-Mayfair did not do this and attempted to place the blame on the Oral Surgeon's system. For the brief time actually speaking with Dr Chybowski and her insistence on TMJ referral, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend WI Endodontics-Mayfair nor Dr. Chybowski. It seems like the CBCT Scan is the money maker and referrals for TMJ aren't far behind. I also believe that Dr. Chybowski could see the amount of decay and placement within the Molar with the PA Bitewing....my own General Dentist could see this on her PA Bitewing of Molar 18. I just wanted to see if WI EndodonticsI could have done a root canal and saved the tooth, but it turned into another stressful, expensive nightmare for me.

My primary dentist referred me to Dr Fergus for a root canal - she did one for me in January and a second last week so yeah, lots of dental fun for me recently. I'd never had a root canal before and to say that I am terrified of doctors and anyone who might stick me with a needle is an understatement. Both Dr Fergus and everyone on staff here went out of their way to put me at ease even though I was a giant baby about the whole thing. And in truth - both root canals were painless. Even after, I really had no discomfort than an ibuprofen couldn't handle. They do offer nitrous gas and my advice is to DO THAT. It helped my overall anxiety and made the procedures way better for everyone involved. I'm finally pain free for the first time in a year (no joke) and I'm immensely grateful to Dr Fergus. If you need a root canal, she's the one you want doing it.

I chose them over my regular dentist for the root canal because they took my dental savings plan and it would be almost half the price of what it would be at my dentist with my dental insurance. After calling them and telling them exactly what plan I had, confirmed with the savings plan they were covered. I had the appt, paid cash after again talking to the person at the desk, the same amount she confirmed with the savings plan cost. Months later I get a bill for the remainder telling me that they don't take that savings plan, the desk person is no longer there and now its my problem to deal with. The new staff I talked to said I had maxed out my insurance which is a lie, its not even half used and I hadn't used it there and they didn't have my insurance info. Lesson learned, I guess I have to have the desk person put it writing that is what they are doing rather than take their word. Unfortunately, it soured me and I am not going back.

AVOID ENDODONTIC SPECIALISTS OF WISCONSIN AT ALL COSTS!…read more Allow me to explain... Approximately 6-weeks ago, my tooth started to hurt. I am extremely busy in my own practice but I decided it had to be checked. I made an appointment with Dr John Korolewski. Dr Korolewski and his staff were fantastic. They took their time with me and explained all of their procedures. Dr. Korolewski referred me to Endodontic Specialists of Wisconsin. The soonest that Endodontic Specialists of Wisconsin could get me in was in two-weeks. Granted, on a scale of "0" being no pain and "10" being the worst pain ever, I was a "20!" All good, I will take antibiotics. Even though Wednesday is a very busy day in our clinic, I cleared my schedule for Wednesday, October 16th. I drove an hour to Sheboygan and I arrived at Endodontic Specialists of Wisconsin 15-minutes early as requested to fill out paperwork. At the appointed time, a staff person took me back to perform an x-ray. I explained to her that I had already had a panoramic view performed at Dr. Korolewski's office and I do not want more radiation and a duplication of service. I told the staff person that it wasn't her that I was upset with but this should have been explained to me BEFORE my appointment. She proceeded to take the film. She then took me back to the treatment room and I told her that I needed to speak to the doctor before we continued. Dr Joshua Davis came in and I told him that I did not want another panoramic view which was additional radiation and a duplication of service. He stated that is was a "different type" of view. I told him that should have been explained to me. I also stated that if we are going to continue, we need to have better communication. This is where it all went south! Davis was EXTREMELY rude and condescending. A pompous jerk is how I would describe him! I have been treating patients since 1983 and THIS is how you treat patients...https://www.ohstemcell.info/testimonials/ Do you see that WALL of patient video testimonials? There are 10x as many because not everyone wants to get on video. Yes, you can joke around with them but only AFTER you have helped them! I have ALWAYS told my staff to follow the Golden Rule and treat patients the way that YOU would like to be treated. Obviously, Davis missed that class in dental school! Next, Davis goes on to tell me that I had moved and they have to re-take the x-ray! Never mind that I followed his staff's instructions to a "T!" NOPE! I am DONE and OUT OF THAT OFFICE! UNLESS you are a masochist and you enjoy being abused, DO NOT GO TO ENDONTIC SPECIALISTS OF WISCONSIN! Dr Michael L. Johnson
