Being from Florida i had expected to find many places to shop abayas from but i was surprised to…read morefind from people there were just 2 or 3. However the one name most recommended was Diana's fashion n i must say i wasn't disappointed. The one good thing was it was open Sunday. That was the only day i could go bfr catching my flight back. The owner greeted me , asked me if There was anything particular i was looking for, n to let them know if i needed help. It took a while to realize most of their sizes were towards plus, n that for me size 1 or 2 would be good. However i did find a couple of racks with those. They ddnt have any objection to trying as many as i liked. The lady showed me a few popular designs that i liked. This with a few scarves, pins n arm covers totally satisfied my modest wear needs for the time being. My friends liked them & i have recommended the place to those visiting Chicago. Also looking forward to drop by again on my next visit coming week.

He was not friendly and rude. Every price we asked he had doubled (we went to another place that sold us scarves for half the price he was charging). Not sure how the help and service is when the other owners are there - but I'm not coming back or recommending this place unless of course you are Arab and maybe they won't jack up prices and discriminate against you.

So I consider myself a fashionista. I love fashion and I love to 'create' outfits…read more Akira is a place I would highly recommend to any fashionista or stylist. They have really cute clothes. I saw several items in store I would have purchased if, during my shopping trip I wasn't on a tight budget. That being said, if you are on a tight budget, this isn't the place for you. But if you have loads of cash to spare, this is a great place to go. I also like that you can look on their website prior to visiting and most of the things are also in store. That was pretty helpful. I enjoyed going here and "window shopping" and trying on clothes. Again, I highly recommend them if you have loads of cash to spare.

While there trying to return a damaged item purchased as new, the music that blared from the speakers was beyond anything I have ever experienced at any shopping establishment. The N word was repeated more than 20 times in one song. As if that wasn't enough, the sales people sang along with it. N*#@+ ??? I had my 9 year old niece with me and I couldn't remove her from this place fast enough. If rap lyrics come with warnings on their labels WHY WOULD YOU PLAY THEM IN A STORE??? I will NEVER shop at any Akira again. I found similar music in the Hyde Park store, only I was alone that time. I love their styles, but I will not be subject to horrific words and music while trying to put an outfit together. Shame on Akira for not being better than this.

Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more I was recommended this place to buy my daughter's dress, and a couple of months ago, we went to see what options they had. When we arrived, the only person in the store at that moment was busy with three women at the counter. She saw us walk in, but didn't acknowledge us, not even a simple "I'll be with you in a moment" or "Please give me a few minutes." We overlooked this because she was the only one working, and we understood she was attending to customers. However, what followed was humiliating. About five minutes later, the women she was helping left, and instead of addressing us, she chose to ignore us, arrange things on the counter, and then head to the back of the store without saying a single word. No "Excuse me" or "I'll be right with you." It felt like she thought that if she ignored us, we would just leave. Since we stayed because we wanted to see dresses, another five minutes passed before my sister had to go find her in the back. When she finally came out, instead of apologizing, she gave us attitude, and the very first thing she asked before even offering any help was, "What's your budget? So I can see if I have something," in an arrogant and dismissive tone. To this day, I don't understand why she was bothered by our presence or why she treated us that way. The moral of the story: give your business to those who treat you well. We ended up buying the dress at Peaches. I had to drive to the city, but the service we received there was outstanding--and, ironically, we were helped by young ladies, not by a woman over 40 who should know better. If I could give this place negative five stars, I would. My intention was to support a local business, but in the end, driving farther to the city was absolutely worth it for the professionalism and respect we received elsewhere.

Hey fellow Yelpers! I've been to this Ross location so many times and found so many good deals…read more Friendly staff, great inventory, & prices you just can't beat. I've been to other Ross locations and I'd have to say this is my favorite one. Customer Service: The staff are always friendly and welcoming. I always get greeted when I walk in and it feels nice. Keep up the amazing work! From time to time, I'll have returns and the associates are always patient with me whether it's me trying to find the paper receipt on my pocket or purse. The line to check out tends to be really long on the weekend, so I'd suggest maybe at least 2-3 cashiers on the register on the weekends at least to reduce the waiting time in line and a smooth & fast checkout experience. Bathroom: The bathroom is located in the back of the store. To use the bathroom, you have to notify the security or an associate since the door is locked by a pin pad. I'm assuming this is to prevent someone from stealing which is good, but interesting that the Marshalls in the same plaza isn't locked. Merchandise: This Ross location has great inventory. I'm not sure how often they restock their merchandise, but I feel like every time I come, I see something new or there's a different set up especially if a holiday is coming up like Valentine's Day, Christmas, etc. they have a dedicated seasonal section where they have items based on the season. I have a pair of UGG boots, Nike shoes, Puma shoes, and more from Ross. You can also find some good cologne/perfume here. My boyfriend is plus size and unfortunately their plus size inventory is very limited, so you are definitely better off at Burlington. Kind of random, but they sell Funko pops and DBZ figures. Overall Experience: Overall, I always have a great shopping experience at Ross at the Chicago Ridge location. The staff are friendly, great inventory, & affordable prices. I hope this review helps Ross in the Chicago Ridge location, Ross in general, & its current and future customers. Have an amazing day!
