This is my go to place for beautiful pashmina scarves!…read more I discovered this store a little over a year ago. I was randomly walking around the neighborhood and stumbled across this perfect combination of wholesale stores. I wasn't sure what to expect but I saw this beautiful pashmina scarf in the window. I am so happy that I went into the store because they had such a large selection of beautiful scarves that I have never seen before. All the scarves that I have ever purchased from here are under $5 but I get so many compliments whenever I wear one of the scarves. Just be forewarned that the place is very overwhelming. It is a mess but for some reason it works. I never know what I'll find when I visit but it is always a gem. During one of my recent visits I found 6 unique scarves, that did not match with my other 10 plus scarves, which made me so excited. It seems like everything I visit there is a new style or color scheme that I would never have imagined. I don't think I will ever purchase another full price scarf from a big name store again! I cannot wait to show off my new collection.

It was a rainy and kinda slick trip along LSD but I figured it would be worth it as their reviews seemed favorable. The hours posted on the website were 1-6pm. I was ten minutes early. I parked in front and waited. 1pm. The gates stay closed and locked, the shop lights remained dark. 1:10...1:15...1:30pm and no life was stirring in the shop. I look hard through the continuing downpour at the window and I see paper taped inside. I get out and DAMN! (*see picture attached*) The website made no mention of 'on-line service only'. Now I know. And now YOU know too. Not really gonna trust a shop that keeps their website up leading customers to believe they're open when they know darn well they aren't. Moving on..

They specialize in custom-wear so naturally being a dressy connosier, I took a shot for my cousin's wedding dress being custom made since I have bought numerous leather items from them in the past (but never in clothing). Abe, helped us understand the dress making process; informing us about the different designs, handwork and fabrics. 3 weeks go by and I got the call that the dress has had arrived. I must say I am very much impressed not only with the quality but that I only paid $650 dollars out the door. I wish them success in their new venture and will recommend to anyone in Chicago looking for custom dresses, bridesmaid dresses and even bridal gowns!

When I first met Karna, an organizational celebrity in the Midwest, I was impressed with her positive attitude, her work ethic, and her ability to complete seemingly impossible organizational feats in just a matter of days. Karna Johnson has created a system that works. She is detail oriented, creative, and truly impressive in her transformative capabilities. From achieving the perfect color rainbow, to checking in for "closet fluffs" her visits are always worthwhile. I would also like to applaud Karna's versatility. This applies to both styling the perfect looks for you, to creating the most efficient and productive closet system. Little ideas like "purse purge" and "bastard socks" are cute idioms in which you'll remember Karna's clever touch. My experiences with Karna have mainly been of the organizational category, however, she exudes sophistication. Her taste in outfits and her immediate read on one's personal style make her an excellent professional and cheerleader for personal styling and shopping alike. She always finds a way to incorporate modern trends while keeping them classy. Karna has been a joy to work with, thanks for everything!

If the staff is not already engaged in conversation with another patron they will ask if you need assistance. Never crowded but I've never been in there alone. I believe a large portion of the shirts are printed by a related business, maybe even on site. I should have asked but couldn't find sizes I was looking for in a few styles of shirts. Hopefully they make more room for Sox and Bears items, I'll ask next time for the sizes of the shirts I am looking for. I've been on the hunt for the perfect dress for my daughter's bat mitzvah and it has not been easy…read more After buying out all the dresses from all the local department stores with no luck I decided to check out Janet Mandell's showroom. I was interested in dresses, but also wanted to check out the jewelry, shoes and purses for a maybe dress at home. I made an appointment online (super easy) and paid the $50 fee. I brought along a friend for lunch and shopping since everything is more fun with friends. We showed up a few minutes early for our 2pm appointment and was greeted by the lovely Monika who immediately began pulling dress options for us that fit within the theme/look I was going for. There are so many amazing dresses to choose from, but there's basically only one size of each dress...but I ended up with about 6-10 options. There were a few that looked like ice skating costumes, others that just looked horrible on me and a few good ones as well. I ended up really liking this beautiful white zac pozen dress, but it looked kind of plain on even with the most fabulous pair of borrowed Jimmy Choo sparkly shoes. However, then Monika took us into the jewel/purse room and turned the plain white dress into an amazing option. She was so great at styling the dress that I joked (half serious) that she needed to come home with me to style me daily! The white dress + accessories was an amazing option, but I ultimately decided to stick with my maybe option at home...unless something else really amazing comes along in the next month. I probably need to make yet another appointment at Janet Mandells for accessories and have a feeling I'll be a frequent customer for other events as well. I was a big Rent the Runway fan pre pandemic, but this takes renting dresses and accessories to an entirely new level. And it's hard to swallow the cost of some of these dresses and accessories that I know i'll wear once when I can rent something amazing at a fraction of the cost.
