I made an online appointment at Discount Tire on Tanque Verde Road in Tucson. The appointment process is very easy and their texts keep you informed along the way. I was about 15 minutes early but Jon came out to greet me and assured me he would take care of everything. He is very friendly and fun to be around, more like an old friend than a guy trying to sell you a bunch of stuff. The Discount Tire website is fabulous. It enabled me to quickly identify and select tires for my 2024 BMW X1. It also allowed me to place my order, put in my Veteran identification via ID.me, and set up an appointment. Today we showed up and there was a placard announcing the appointment and personnel quickly arrived at our car before my wife got out of the car. We were welcomed and as we walked into the facility our car was already in the bay with 3-4 technicians ready to work. We were told it might take about 25 minutes but the technicians, which checked in with us as they were finishing up, beat that estimate. Overall it was the best experience and we have decided that we will only buy our tires from Discount Tires for all of our cars. read more

Downside waiting 15 minutes standing in line to begin paperwork . To consider with 3 or 4 agents have one during busy times to handle those whose tire orders were pre-purchased, rather than waiting while agents going the process of selling and answering phone sales calls . An unfamiliar icon appeared on my car's dash, and my hub immediately identified it as a tire problem. He checked the air pressure and determined the right rear tire was ten pounds down. He pumped it up and drove to Discount Tire on Tanque Verde. When my hub returned home, my car was all better and he had nothing but praise for his experience at Discount. The employees were incredibly friendly and competent. They found and removed the offending nail in the tire and repaired the tire. They aired all the tires and balanced the repaired one. They checked my windshield wipers and cleared the electronic warning from the dash. The car was finished when promised, and all this at NO CHARGE! read more

I booked an appointment online for a late afternoon tire rotation and balance on a Monday. There was a little bit of a line but I'm glad I made the appointment. Tip#1: Make the appointment online and when you get there it will cut you to the front of the queue. Tip#2: Arrive 15-20 min before your appointment because they will also need to inspect your tire's tread depth and car mileage for their records. They also inspect the wear on your tires. In fact they found a nail stuck on my tire and fixed that too. Tip#3: bring your smartphone with you because they give you a link to track the status of your car. I went for a walk while waiting. The person I worked with was courteous and polite. I felt like I was treated well and service was excellent. The car was done before the estimated time of completion so I walked back to the store and picked up my car. Easy, peasy, and smooth. If you buy your tires through Discount tire or their associated website at tirerack.com, you get free rotations and inspections. That's a good value and peace of mind. read more

I'm really disappointed with my experience at Discount Tire. I went in for a simple tire service, and they broke one of my lug nut studs -- without mentioning it at all. I later took my car to a different tire shop, and they found that another stud had been stripped as well. When I called Discount Tire to discuss it, they told me it was "impossible" for their machines to cause that kind of damage, which is simply not true. Instead of taking responsibility, they tried to dismiss the issue entirely. I ended up going to uTires, and they were the complete opposite. They quoted me less than half the price and finished the repair in a fraction of the time it normally takes at Discount Tire. The experience was night and day. I definitely won't be returning to Discount Tire, and I'd strongly recommend checking out uTires instead. (I paid $350 for all 4 tires) read more

Sent my 16yo daughter in to get tires balanced on her car because another mechanic indicated it was the cause of car shaking at 40+ mph. They up sold her over $300 with of tire pressure sensors, including on the spare without explaining it had nothing to do with why she brought the car in. They indicated is was "super important" so she thought it was critical. A hard lesson for a young kid, but also felt unethical. When I called to share this with the store, they just laughed and said well the tire pressure light will be off now. Two thumbs down - believe the associate's name was Jacob. My son was in the step down ward of the hospital when I walked outside and found out I had a flat tire. This was hands down the most terrifying experience of my life. I have a little Mazda MX3 and put the donut tire on. I honestly needed a tow truck but I made it there. The service was wonderful. I knew I needed all 4 tires when I got there and was expecting it to cost me money. Lies again! My dear friend brought her car in because of a low air pressure warning light on the dashboard. Instead of just filling her tires, they unecessarily sold her 4 new tires. The ones they removed had just 19,000 miles and were kept garaged, out of sunlight. They took advantage of an innocent little old lady that went in for an air fill. I have to blame myself for succumbing to high pressure sales tactics at the Tanque Verde location. Not sure why I was stupid that day. But they slipped in $94.20 worth of "certificates" for the tires I bought! They did not ask if I wanted to buy the certificates. Just added it on. I've been going to other Discount Tire locations for about 10 years. Never bought the certificates, but was always asked if I wanted them. I actually had gone in that store to get a plug in a tire. After explaining for about 40 minutes that that was all I wanted, I was told it would be 1 1/2 hours to get the tire repaired. Why I didn't just leave and get the repair elsewhere, I can't explain. Somehow, my common sense had abandoned me that day. I ended up replacing two perfectly good tires that would have lasted for a few years more. I know that I am the idiot here. I'm going to schedule an appointment with a neurologist to find out why my brain wasn't working and I allowed myself to become 'putty in their hands'. It's not every day someone has the day off and Discount Tire doesn't take that into consideration for walk-ins, only appointments. I need to severely update my review. I was in a car accident 2 years ago and I got new tires/rims put on. I asked for some that would fit without modifications and they showed me some options. I got my SUV repaired and then those installed. I was so happy to fix my vehicle and get her looking beautiful again. Then I take a turn and my bumper almost rips off!!! It's hanging on, but completely separated. Not a good look for a $40k SUV! The WORST PART is the wheel threads/studs weren't long enough for the new rims and they put it on KNOWING that they weren't on correctly and quite literally could have broke off at any moment and I would have potentially rolled over and DIED. Then the manager says they just need to CUT off something from my wheel well. WHAT! NO! Then asks to pay for a modulation to fix it. I agreed to this because it was cheaper for them and it was a mistake. We get the mod done, and they said they needed to wait to finish the claim to fix the bumper and they will update me. THEY GHOST ME! The manager is never to see seen heard from again. I find out TODAY the claim was NEVER SUBMITTED. Now 2 years later the Regional VP is involved with this mess. I have been a customer with discount tire for 10 years. This is the 4th car I've brought in with them. Today I had the worst customer service experience with Cisco. He had a snarky attitude and it seemed he was trying to be passive aggressive from the moment I got there. Instead of trying to make the experience of getting a new tire better, I felt he was trying to make it more difficult and uncomfortable for me. He insinuated we bought a tire fraudulently online because my fiancé ordered the tire online when we made the appointment on Sunday, when the store was closed. He said anyone could use anyone's credit card and he needed a picture of the card. I've never been asked for this except for at hotels? Cisco also pulled me up in the system and he could see I've bought tires there since 2012. I guess he didn't care about that. I felt that because I was a woman, he talked down on me and made sly remarks multiple times. I'm very disappointed. read more

After 3 decades of using Discount Tire, I am leaving. Its service has always been superb but its prices can no longer compete with Costco. Today, I dropped more than $1,300 on four tires. After learning Discount changed the terms of its road hazard insurance add-on, I did research and realized it was no longer worth buying. So I went online and compared prices. Discount's tire prices are competitive with anyone. But their fees are not. Some of their add-on fees were twice that of Costco. And Discount charged for installation where Costco did not. Costco's price was more than $100 less than Discount. The only reason I went to Discount and not Costco today was because I am leaving for Mexico and wanted tires that Costco could not provide for another week. I like Discount a lot but not $100 times 3 cars a lot. read more

Fantastic experience. Frank took amazing care of me. Had a tire leak. Frank got me scheduled efficiently. I think had to come in earlier than scheduled to drop the car off to accommodate the kids' naps. He said no problem. Met me outside, didn't try to upsell me anything, and then they got the work done early. Picked it up without issue. I was emailed a quote before I even got home and was texted as soon as it was ready. Their COVID precautions are excellent. They meet you outside in your car to coordinate things and handle your keys through transference in a plastic bag. I was so impressed with their efficiency and professionalism. I am done with this Discount Tire location (E Tanque Verde). I scheduled an appointment for a Tire Rotation & Balance at 4:45 PM. I arrived at 4:40 PM. I checked at 5:00 PM and my car was still sitting in the parking space. I will say when the car was brought into the bay, the service was performed quickly. One of the front counter staff came and informed me my car was ready. My son and I went outside to wait for it to be brought up. The counter person, who notified me the car was ready, backed the car out of the bay so fast, I thought he was going to hit the car behind my car. He then punched it going right past my son and me before hitting the brakes to stop the vehicle. I don't drive my car is such a reckless manner and I certainly was not happy to witness him doing so. When he handed me the receipt, it showed the appointment time as 5:00 PM, which was a lie! On 2 other occasions at this same location had under inflated the tires, causing me to have to return to get more air in the tires. I will continue to support Discount Tires, but not at this location. read more

While they put a new tire on me wheel very fast, they didn't actually put it on my car. They said that something was broken and they couldn't get the spare off, and told me to go to some other store they recommended. When I asked for a discount because they only did half the labor, they came up with some BS about how I paid for the tool usage. I suspect they were the ones who broke whatever it was in my spare. They also blatantly lied to my face about the rest of my tires needing to be replaced. I also suspect they recommended some shop a buddy works at so they get more money.
