I made an appointment for this morning to get two new tires at the Discount Tire on south Cerillos. Due to an early adjournment at the coffee shop I arrived early and took a seat in the lobby. When I finished business on line I started people watching and was amazed. EVERY Discount Tire employee had perfect interaction with the customers. I've never seen that kind of across the board quality at any other business. I don't doubt it's the same at the north Cerrillos shop. Also a good range of tire prices. read more

The tire service was great - I bought 4 New ones. The store (in Santa Fe, NM) had a door which was stuck open. Outside temp was about 23 degrees F. I like to froze while waiting the 50 minutes required to mount the tires. Never had a worse experience. read more

I took my car in to have 2 new tires put on. I was told to bring my car in and they would fit me in. When I arrived the guy behind the counter told me that it might be 2 & 1/2 hrs, but it could be sooner because "the guys don't wait for late appointments" 2 hrs later, and my car was still sitting in the parking lot. Meanwhile, there was a garage bay that stood empty for 30 min, so I guess they do "wait for late appointments". Besides that, instead of working, many of the guys are standing around talking. They have several guys at once working on changing tires for people and it still takes them over 30 min to change tires. Boy, these guys would NEVER get a job on a Formula One team, where they can change 4 tires in 3 seconds. These guys are a far cry from that. But I blame that on management. Apparently, management doesn't care about a customer's time. I finally told them to cancel my work, which at that point, they suddenly said they could take my car right in. No thanks. Staff was very friendly. Service was way faster than expected. I was on a spare tire, which blew after my regular tire went flat. Was due for an entire new set anyway so I purchased 5 and they replaced the spare immediately and set aside my other 4 so they could put them on as soon as I got the vehicle back there. I expected the entire thing to be expensive, which it was (I have a large truck), but the warranty is good and I can always come back to get them checked etc. Only downside was that they don't do alignments here, so I had to go elsewhere for that. read more

Went there yesterday 11/20. Had originally thought of only buying one tire and rim as was all I thought I could afford. Luckily the tech told me about their Black Friday specials. For about 100 bucks more than I was quoted for the single tire and rim I was able to get 4 tires and the rim. I'm very grateful for that. We took our car in for a routine tire rotation but, because the tire pressure indicator had come on that morning, asked Discount to check the pressures. We were told the pressures were okay, even though the warning light remained lit. A day later I checked the pressures myself and discovered a huge screw in the left front, with a psi about half of what's recommended. We took the car back and they repaired the problem, but would not acknowledge they had broken one of the wheel studs. So it was disappointing and time consuming. read more

Was traveling from out of state and had a leaky tire. Found out tire could not be repaired so Discount ordered a replacement which was good. Had to come back after tire was in the store. So made an appointment for 4:30PM after it came in. Tried to notify the store on 1372 Cerrillos in Santa Fe NM that i was leaving from where i was staying as they ask me to. The app did not work and said journey could not be found. Got to the store at 4:24 and the person who checked me in said it would be a hour beyond my appointment time. When the app notified me is said 5:09 it would be done. At 5:40PM my car was pulled in for tire replacement. The app then said I would be done by 7:43pm. At 6:05 my car was completed less returning my old tire which I had requested to be done which I had to wait another 5 minutes for. The tech who worked on my car was good, The time estimates and scheduling are broken and need a major update. I think giving priority to walk-ins is bumping folks with appointments way out. If you go here add at least 1 1/2 hours to appointment estimate, Some of the people were wait were there over 2 1/2 hrs beyond what they were told. read more

Discount Tire employees in Santa Fe have stripped and broken, so far, 8(ea) 2009 Toyota LandCruiser tire bolts. I bought my tires at Discount Tire in Santa Fe, great tires, but their services is horrible. After their installation of my new tires, I took my LC back to Discount Tire in Santa Fe for rotation and balance, and they broke and stipped 6 lug nut bolts, too much PSI on the torque wrench by my guess, untrained 17 year olds. Then they sent me to a half caulked local mechanic to have the lug bolts replaced. So...did that, and then I took my LC to the other Discount Tire located in Santa Fe, and, of course, their tech trashed another 2 bolts and gave me another waiver to Brake Masters. Blamed it on the Land Cruiser! I'm so pissed that they would allow my to drive to Denver on 4 bolts, outta 5, and suggest I go to brake masters to fix the ISSUE THEY FUCKING CAUSED. Zero stars, lack of training, poor customer service and they blame it on the car manufacturer. RIDICULOUS, my 2009 Toyota Land Cruiser never had a problem until Discount Tire touch it. read more

When I got to the store at 2:30 in the afternoon with a warrantied flat tire the man that helped me said at the very latest I would be out by 5:30 pm. I informed him that I could not drive at night due to my limited vision and he assured me that they may be able to get me out even sooner. So I felt that I was heard and it was taken into consideration. It is now after six pm and I have been here over 3 1/2 hours and when I went up to the desk, another man was really rude. Like how dare I come up and check to see when a REALISTIC time of completion might be. I assumed they would know that much. Yes I am irritated that it is more important for them to keep me and my vehicle here well after the time that I said I could safely drive. I would have made other arrangements to tow the car and get it fixed elsewhere. I was not given that opportunity and as a result I have to drive at night which I am not supposed to do. These guys are the BEST! I called on a Friday for tires. There were a few options, Brandon told me one of the less expensive options was as good as the most expensive option. They would have the tires in on Monday, but I scheduled for a Tuesday. They took me right in and in 45 minutes I was out the door. They were so communicative, I received a text when my car was ready. Six stars! I was traveling through Santa Fe for a few weeks and had a slow leak in one of my tires. I made an appointment to have them look at it, but first they offered a free tire pressure check and inflation. Already a wonderful service. I dropped off my car and was notified when it was ready, right on time. The man behind the counter handed me my invoice. It said $0. I said, there must be some mistake? He said, "We want you to be safe on the road. Remember us the next time you need tires." You can be sure that I will. I'm literally speechless at what a wonderful experience I had. I've had good experiences here with the friendly guys who work here. But the communication and promises made of when a car will be ready was dishonest. Whats worse is when we called to check on the car someone picked up the phone and just put it down without saying anything helpful like "we'll be right with you". Had a family death while visiting Santa Fe. Needed one trailer tire which was due to arrive on Monday. As things go the tire didn't arrive. The staff asked if I wanted to use a different which really didn't want to do. Knowing circumstances and knowing I didn't want to mix brands the staff then mounted and balanced the different brand tire so I could get on the road. The next part is amazing they provided the tire, mounting and balancing for no charge to get me going. I lived in New Mexico for many years and Discount Tire was my go to spot for tires for all of our Ranch vehicles. These people provide tremendous but also caring and kind service. My Wife & I have purchased many sets of tires from this store (actually the old store, which is now closed - they built a new building) This new building has a fire lane (red curb labeled no parking) I had a nail in a tire, with a slow leak. Another vehicle was parked in front, at the red curb in front of showroom, so I followed-suit, and parked behind that vehicle. Now I know, 2 wrongs don't make it right, but I was concerned that my tire would soon be flat, so I did the wrong thing, I parked behind the other guy :/ I went inside the showroom. In a few moments, one of the salespersons looked over to me, and said "okay - What are we doing" I said I have a nail in my tire, with a slow leak, it's that truck out front. The salesperson (911) (that's the sales person's # on the invoice Discount Tire emailed me) Anyway, that sales person pulled up my info on their computer. I handed him my key, and we went out to my truck. On the way out the door, I said to the salesperson; I have the tire marked. Let me show you where the nail is. I walked over to the front passenger side to show him the nail. The salesperson got in my truck, and started it up. With that I slapped on the hood, and told the salesperson to shut it off, and come over and look at the tire with me. He did. Since the nail was ~ an inch from the sidewall, I asked the salesperson if he thought it could be plugged. The salesperson said; I don't know, that's up to the technician. With that, the salesperson got back in my truck, started it up, and drove (aggressively) to the parking lot, located a fair distance from the showroom. Now I'm upset. As I walked to the parking lot (way out yonder way) I thought to myself; Why didn't the salesperson simply say; I see the nail, go ahead and move your truck to the parking lot where the sign says "Showroom". We All have Bad Days. I know that, but as a Customer, that behavior doesn't set well with me. After thinking about it, I had my Wife drive me back to Discount Tire. I went inside, and explained that I would not be doing business there, and got my key back. As I was leaving, another Discount Tire employee asked me what the issue was. I explained the situation (with some Choice Words) As I was making my way back out the the showroom parking lot (way out yonder way) the store manager (Deven) (sp?) approached me and asked what the problem was. Again, I went-on to say, what I experienced. I told the store manager that Discount Tire has lost two customers. The manager apologized for salesperson (911) and asked me what he could do to make things right. I said; Better Signage in front of store would help. They told me to make an appointment, and I asked them to call me to notify me that the tires were in before I came down. Well that was a month ago. Each time I called to check, they promised me that the tires were coming "in three days," "tomorrow," "very soon." FedEx got held up. The dog ate their homework. I took my vehicle to have all my tires balanced, rotated, and have one tire replaced. All this work was specified on the worksheet. I watched the work done and saw the technician just replace one tire and didn't balance it. The balance and rotation was never completed. I have bought new tires there and was shocked to see this. 02/29 Getting to work was stressful and my tires weren't holding up. I got there and sales men by the name of Cody assisted me. I left my car there to return during my lunch hour. Marcos the tech worked on my car and I got a message about an 40 minutes later that my car was already done. No one was available to take me so I walked about four blocks to get my car. I wanted to have my snow tires mounted on wheels and installed on my Mazda today. There were no appointments on line, so I called and was told they always take walk ins and that the wait was probably about an hour. So I got there and was told to wait in my car for a sales person. It would take about 10-15 minutes. After 15 minutes, I walked into the shop and Miguel said he could help me right away. He found four wheels for me at a reasonable price. They were very busy . It took 90 minutes rather than 60 minutes to install. overall, I think this store is very customer friendly and efficient. read more
