Had an appointment for first thing in the morning and didn't have my car pulled in until 30 minutes after. They threw my key across the shop and broke it. ...and I had to deal with a third party insurance for two weeks just to get it and now the programming isn't right on the car. They also lost one of my nicer valve stem caps that I've got to pay for now. Discount tire isn't worth it any more. They tear everything up and waste my time. read more

Do not make an appointment, better to just walk in. They take walk ins first regardless of an appointment to maximize profit for the manager for their bonus. I had an appointment, arrived an hour early and still it went past the time. I asked the manager when my car would be next and he stated in another car or two. I made an appointment for rotation and balancing. I was immediately greeted outside of the place which I told him I was not going to buy tires today, but I could already tell the salesman had thought otherwise (making jokes like I look younger than I am among other things to flatter me). COMPLETELY INAPPROPRIATE AND GROSS!!! I felt as a female a hard-core press on sales with my vehicle tires. I do understand that they have requirements in order to rotate the tires out but no excuse to hard sell me on just about everything you could possibly do to my car, including credit cards, certificate, warranties, have to pay again for alignment. Etc. just went on and on...I am proud of myself for not falling for it even though I left in tears because I was not comfortable (mind you all these conversations about prices and sales are in front of other people in the waiting room). So I went to a small family business that does good work as far as I could see in reviews. And they took the time to take the tires off show me the tread. And In fact I don't need four tires. Always busy so it was suggested when I called that we make appointment. We did that. They had all our vehicles information ready and we got our tires rotated and balanced. We hadn't be there in a while and we loved that tires weren't displayed in the waiting lobby. The tire smell can be overwhelming for those with breathing problems. There were plug/ports available for recharging phones or plug in devises. We were updated along the way. The restrooms were the best we've seen and appreciated the handicapped bars - no touch sink water and the absents of fragrant plug ins because it was so clean and fresh they aren't needed. We watched the young men change tires through a large window where we were sitting. Efficient - knows what they are doing and it was a symphony of coordination to get the jobs done. I was amazed at the experience I received on 3.4.25! I had a tire with a nail & losing air badly. When I arrived they were very busy. I was helped promptly and they estimated more than an hour wait. And here is the amazing part...I am about to have knee replacement surgery later this week. I am having trouble walking & cannot bend my knee to sit or get up from sitting in a low chair. I told them I'd stand to wait - although in obvious pain. They quietly came back to me in minutes & said they would take my car now. I did not ask for special treatment. I came into have my TPMS check. The salesman told me it would be two hours before the could get to me and that I could leave and come back, which I did. After waiting 45 minutes, I found out they had not even started on my car. I got a refund and left. I am a big fan of Discount Tire and have never had anything but kudos for them, but I will never come back to this location again. They schedule to much at the same time. I bought tires online 12/10/24. I scheduled an appointment for installation of four tires for 1pm on 12/20. I arrived at 1:02 and was greeted by a guy who took measurements of treadwear and got the mileage of my vehicle. I know it only takes about 30 minutes to install tires. I was quoted an hour wait time at 1:06. At 2:08, I saw the technician pull my vehicle into the bay. At 2:28, he came to tell me that my tires were installed and that I was ready to go. No apology or explanation given. I usually buy tires from Costco but gave Discount Tire a chance. I will go back to Costco. The appointment at Discount Tire was meaningless. The cost of tires and guarantee are basically the same but the service is better at Costco. read more

I had an appointment for a tire rotation and let them know when I arrived that I only had a little over an hour. They told me they would let me know if they would not be able to get it done in that time. They did not let me know. After an hour, I went up to the desk and was told they had not even started on my car. They schedule too many appointments and do not leave slots for walk-in customers. Yet, they continue to take walk-ins and delay the times for customers with appointments. Scheduling is not rocket science; they need to do better. It's not as if the waiting room is a comfortable experience. The chairs are uncomfortable and there aren't any tables by the chairs to lay your things down and no amenities. They do not do the free pressure check anymore. The gear is out there but on 3 occasions, I have waited upto 15 minutes and no one comes. BEWARE: In anycase they were using the free pressure check to sell new tires even when they are not needed. One time they told me that I needed new tires. Those tires had been installed by them 2 years prior and had 6000 miles on them & were perfectly fine. I reported this to the manager who did seem to care. read more

I love the flexibility of visiting different locations based my schedule; no matter where you go, everyone at Discount Tire is respectful and professional. I recommend making an appointment before visiting Discount Tire. I like to get in and out as soon as I can, and making appointment does not take much time. Due to Covid-19, you will be waiting in your car until it's time to get your car to get serviced. You will drive your car into the shop area and will sit in the car while the employees are taking care of your car. This was nice knowing that no one is getting inside of my car in the middle of pandemic! Prior to Covid-19, it was similar experience with check in, but you would wait in the lobby instead of you car. Discount Tire will not upsell anything - They tell you how it is! :) They show you how your tires are doing based on a poster they have inside. When it's dangerous to drive your car, they will let you know that it's time for new tires. Once you buy tires from Discount Tire, they take care of them for their life time. I was greeted and helped immediately around 9:57 am today. I had a tire that kept losing air pressure the last couple of days on my 2021 ram. There was a wire in it that caused a slow leak and they patched it up. The man who greeted me also advised I had wiper blades that are in pretty bad shape. I'm a cheap guy so I passed but he did a great job getting me checked in quickly. Your team is always awesome and I've never had a bad experience. Was told it would take about an hour for my tire to be fixed. 6 individuals came in starting about 20 min after I got there and all had vehicles serviced, all but one were all walk ins without appointments. I saw more employees walking and standing around then actually working. I sat for over two hours for a screw to be corrected. Probably the worst experience I've ever had at any kind of car shop. I ordered 2 tires online and set up an appointment which was extremely easy. My initial interaction at the shop was great, i got all set up and sat down to wait on my car. Within 5 minutes of waiting a very upbeat sales man came to talk to me telling me "You know you need all 4 tires replaced right?" then proceeded to show me some red zone and yellow zone chart saying my tires were dipping into the red zone. I'm not an idiot and i know cars. My 2 back tires had plenty of tread on them. I declined saying i couldn't afford all 4 right now and he mentioned their financing options. I again declined. After receiving my car back i checked if they had put the new tires on the back of my car like anyone who knows cars knows you should... of course they didn't. When i went in to ask about it the sales man tried to sell me some BS story about how if they took off my tires and saw some kind of wear on the inner wall they would HAVE to be replaced so he was actually saving me money. Then he pressured me again to get new tires (that i don't need). Word of advice: don't treat women like we don't know anything about cars and don't try to take advantage of people. And that's where Discount Tire comes into the picture. Don't worry about the name, Discount Tire carries all the major brands and does it for a good price. Yes, I've also used Tire Rack online but Discount Tire will special order any rubber you want and will also include free rotations and a 3-year replacement guarantee for some additional dollars. I called ahead to see what they had in stock and lo and behold, the exact tires I wanted! My 3pm appointment was right on time and I was in and out in about an hour. Service is always super polite here and once they even fixed a tire for free for me. Seriously, it wasn't even theirs and they patched it after I picked up a nail. So yeah, you know I was coming back for my next set of tires. So first lesson my friends is don't go cheap on your tires, buy some good ones for safety and performance reasons. Second is seriously consider Discount Tire because they do a great job at a good price and they're honest. You can't ask for much more than that so check em out the next time you need some new tires or wheels! read more

I had an appointment to get my tire patched up after I saw a nail in it. It was holding air for the most part, but i wanted it to be repaired before it went completely flat. Discount tire placed the patch on a Friday and it took about 1.5 hours. They assured me everything went fine and that it was patched up. The next morning, I went out to my car to find the tire now completely flat. Really disappointing considering it just had been "repaired." I called and left a nice message about the situation and never got a call back. I ended up going to another place to get it repaired correctly and they directly told me that they had placed a patch that was too small and that's why it wasn't holding air. I ended up getting it properly repaired at that place. It seems like discount tire really just wants the money and for me to buy an entirely new tire. They are extremely efficient if you take a second to request an appointment...most of the time you'll get a call saying they can get you in before then if you can. Prices are very competitive. They actually ran out of the tires I ordered this last time and instead of canceling or trying to up sell me, they went ahead and installed a better quality tire all the way around without charging me any extra. On a recent Wednesday night, I came out of work only to discover I had a flat tire. Husband came and sprayed something in there that enabled me to get to Discount Tire only to discover that they had already closed! (it was about 6:15 and they close at 6...who knew?) Anyway, that didn't stop John (hope I'm remembering his name correctly!) from selling me all four tires that I did indeed need (it was actually a good thing that I had a flat tire...might have saved me from other potential disasters). This is my third or fourth time buying tires from Discount Tire, and they never fail to impress. The folks seem to be nice at any of the locations, and they are good --and fast-- at what they do. I needed new tires for my little convertible, so I found a couple possible sets on their website, printed the price quote and took it with me to the store this morning without an appointment (though I could have made one online). They had the tires I wanted in stock, and I spent about 45 minutes at the Borders bookstore across the parking lot while they were installed. They called me, as promised, when finished and I strolled back across the lot and drove her away -- what a difference! The price was great -- I chose a nice tire with good grip and way-reduced road noise, and I also opted for the TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) rebuild as well as the replacement certificates. Now, normally I don't buy those "warranty" types of things; however, in 15 years (YEARS!!) of living in Charlotte I only picked up one nail in my tires. I've lived in Raleigh for only 15 months (MONTHS!!), and have already picked up TWO!! So, to me it's worth it. I still got out of there for less than $700 -- tires, installation, TPMS rebuild kit, certificates, NC-required disposal fees, NC sales tax, etc. They do free rotating and balancing for life while you own the car. Additionally, they will rotate the tires of your family and friends just because you're their customer. And that's for any Discount Tire location in America, not only where you bought the tires.
