Incredibly efficient, incredibly professional I am usually a big supporter of buying from the local mom and pop shops. That said, I went Big Chain and I want to share my experience this morning with Discount Tire in Martinsburg. I looked around, read reviews on Consumer Reports for tires and tires stores, considered the local shop we have used since they opened 5 or 6 years ago... I decided to replace kind with kind. I got the same tires the car came with new. Michelin Primacy A/S. I figured they were good enough for Ford to spec on the car... I also decided on Discount Tire. They are Consumer Reports third highest rated chain and the only one of the top chains in the Martinsburg area. HOLY COW!!! I did the ordering online on Thursday and set up the appointment for 8:00 AM Saturday. Thursday: Email and text confirming the order. Friday: Email and text confirming the tires had been delivered and confirming the 8:00 AM Saturday appointment. This morning I arrived at the location at 7:48. Not open yet, no problem, I knew that. I am always early... 7:55: Tech comes out with a tablet, knows who I am, asks for the keys... 7:57 AM the car is in the service bay. Four techs descend on the car like a NASCAR pit crew. Four hydraulic jacks lift the car and by 8:00 AM all four wheels are off the car. Each tech takes one wheel and removes the tire, tests the TPS units, mounts and balances the new tire, and mounts it on the car. 8:11 the car is DONE. 8:12 the car is in the parking lot, I am finishing up with the service advisor. 8:15 I am in my car and pulling out of the parking lot. AMAZING!!! Everything done efficiently, professionally, properly. As I said, I like to shop with the locally owned stores but this is a level of service that can't be equaled. I should also mention that the price was far better than I could find anywhere else. read more

My wife and I went to Discount Tires in Martinsburg WV and ordered tires. They went down the price and and gave me a total which i had already done my math so i knew what it should be. it was almost 300 higher. i asked the guy to tell me how he got the prices. As he was quickly going down the list tires, install certificate, disposal. i said i dont want the certificates. He asked why, i replied i just dont want it. We leave, tires come in and my wife has to take it by herself this time. Well it started all over for her. The first guy says we have to do an inspection before you put the tires on. He says you need to get the wipers replaced($100+) and why did you refuse the certificates. She replied my husband just changed them 2 months ago, he says he has to get his manager to take it off. The manager comes out and says why are you refusing the certificates. Your making a mistake. These people are bullies and take advantage of people that dont know they dont have to get anything they dont want. They make it sound like someone has to get these things to get serviced. I can imagine how many elderly they have taken advantage of. Lets get to those certificates around 50 to 75 per tire, yes they will fix or replace them but how many people blow more than 1 tire out there in normal driving? If you blow one and you bought the certificates you already paid for that 1 tire in total certificates. Now if you happen to blow 2 tires, then it may be worth it, but i like my odds and I will always refuse this bs! Judging by the ratings Im seeing and the common stories its safe to say they dont care about reviews or customer service because we all continue to go there for whatever reason. I will drive 10 more miles and hit a different or support my local shop. These guys are bullies and thugs and take advantage of women, elderly and any other naive person that walks in! i wish so bad I was able to be there when those tires were installed! read more

They did good job letting us know about the info for tire and they was able fix the tire in good time. There customer service is excellent thank you fellas.! read more

Sorry. I read the glowing reviews. But super friendly does not cover up the over-booking of appointments and leaving me sitting there all afternoon with an appointment slip in hand. "Friendly" is getting irritating, when they don't deliver the very most basic of service. Four wasted hours just to get a balance? With a "lifetime balance guarantee?" Maybe cash-paying customers are prioritized while those of us who have warranty work are relegated way back in line, appointment slip whatever. read more

They had the tires I needed and the installation went fairly quick even though they were really busy.

Before I start the review this date was before a major snow storm and I was told I was a walk in. with that being said i told the rep I would be a walk in and wait. other people that were walk in came and went hours before I asked what the issue was. i got there at 1130am and never left the store until 630 pm. when I asked my sales rep what the deal was and if they forgot about my truck he went to the back had a heated discussion with the service advisor and picked up my ticket from under the service advisors desk. i was sure it was mine due to at 4pm 15 minutes after they picked up the work order from the floor my truck was brought in with the excuse of the ford that was in bay had issues. I spoke with that customer and he told me that he had no appointment and that he was a walk in also that came at 330pm. I u strata d that they were busy but I spent 2200 dollars on tires and spent well over 6 hours. wasn't even offered the truth to what happened or try to make it right by the customer. while I was sitting there for well over 7 hours sales team kept selling tires. while giving a time frame to all of the customers 6pm. which at the time wasnt believable as the time I had spent there. at 6pm a gentleman from Virginia talked to me and a local lady the lady had an appointment at 2pm and at 5 was still waiting for here car to be brought into shop. the gentleman from Virginia was told 6pm at 3pm. I told him he should check on his veghicle. as he was told 6pm the sale rep said now it would be 9pm. there were 12 other customers with the same treatment and outcome.when I received my truck back I received no paperwork for work done no read out for the alignment done that I paid for. and they conveniently, forgot to take one of my old tires and mount to my spare. in which I payed for also. read more

This location has serviced our 2012 Honda CR-V and 2012 Mazda CX-9 with new tires for each along with fixing several punctures in the CX-9. Most recently the service was with our CX-9. I was informed by my mechanic that due to my rear tires being past the tread wear indicators and very close on the front tires the PTO was having to work harder and that it showed a little wear due to the tire issues. So I went online the day after getting my car out of the shop and ordered Phantom C-Sport 245 /50 R20 102V SL BSW, which were to be in stock by Friday. I confirmed and made an online appointment for Friday at 8:15am and went about my business. The next day I received a call from the store saying my tires would be there Thursday and could have them put on a day early which was good news to me as I have been driving the CX-9 as little as possible. I rearranged my day and work to allow for the tires to be installed early but I was never called Wednesday or Thursday about having them installed. However, I was called 30 minutes before heading out Friday and told they did not have the tires I ordered, they were in Hagerstown, hopefully delivered Friday. I was told they had different tires in stock and they could install on the car but were at least $100 more per tire. I said how soon would my tires arrive and was told they were unsure but would be called to let me know. We discussed options but none of them involved have the other tires put on for the price of the tires I paid, which was frustrating because it was Memorial Day weekend and I needed to use my car for several trips. So, I asked again as to options and still no offer of swapping tires without additional cost, and we ended the conversation without resolution. After Arriving at work and going through my schedule for the weekend I realized I needed to have something done and could not wait for a call or pay at minimum an additional $400 for tires. I reached out to Customer service to state my case and asked to have the Yokohama YK-CTX 245 /50 R20 102V SL BSW tires put on my car for the price paid for the previous set due to the continual changes to my schedule and limited driving of my car. The Yokohama tires were the lowest price of the 3 brands that were in stock that fit my car, which is why I selected those. I was not expecting to hear back, but I heard back in about 3 hours via a phone call from the store manager, Tom asking if I could come by that day and have the Yokohama tires installed. He offered 4pm as an install time and I said OK, waiting to hear as to the additional cost or solution. He asked if I had any questions so I asked if I needed to pay the difference which was going to require me to cancel the installation. Tom said no, that the Yokohama YK-CTX would be installed for the same price as the Phanton C-Sport. I about dropped the phone and quickly said that's sound great and I'd be there at 4. When I arrived we went over the car and the tires and I handed off my keys and waited less that 20 minutes before my car was pulled into a bay. They were professional, courteous and understanding of my situation and had me back on the road in about 30 minutes with a new set of tires. I was highly impressed with how the entire process was handled by customer service, staff and management at the store. They took a difficult situation, turned it around and went above and beyond to help me get back on the road with a new set of tires at the price of the set previously purchased. I cannot say enough good things about this location and will certainly be having all my tire work done here. Thank you so much for putting the customer first and getting me back on the road. read more

Sets an example for others to follow! I found a nail in my right front tire after Wednesday morning Bible Study. I'd seen this shop while getting groceries on Sunday afternoon and decided to give it a try. On arrival, I was greeted by "Nathan". I didn't even have to go inside. I told him what I'd found and he inspected all four tires to be safe. Going inside the store, he said "Give me a couple of hours -say until 2:30- and we'll see what's going-on." Not long after my car is driven into the shop, it returns with me receiving a text that my car is ready for pickup. The technician who worked on it handed me a small brad that he'd found in the right front tire,. They did the repair for free. Yes, that's right... free! On top of that, they had my car ready 45 minutes earlier than promised. I'm getting ready to move to this area. Needless to say, if I ever need tires, I'm coming here! And, I'm telling my friends about this. I have to give gibe Discount Tire on Vendor Drive my highest possible recommendation. read more

Upon arrival I was met by Jake before I made it in the building. He measured all the tire tread depths, lug nuts and checked the wipers. He was very knowledgeable about the service Discount Tire offers, which is a huge win to me since most places have untrained and un professional staff....that was not the case here. He told me it would be approximately an hour till completed and went over the TPMS and tire lug nut torque specs and recommended pressure, etc. WOW. As a former mechanic I was very impressed by his review of the work to be performed. Even my dealership mechanic isn't that good. When I picked up the car everything was almost perfect. The TPMS wasn't self learning as the mechanic though, and I had to do a combination of pressing the on/off button and pressing the brake to reset the TPMS...no big deal....they deal with all cars and I can't fault them for not knowing every reset procedure. I will definitely return to this place and Discount Tire should definitely try to keep workers like Jake on their staff. A++ read more

I have recommended them to 3 of my co- workers and haven't heard a negative thing yet! Good customer service is few and far these days - and it's sad read more

They had the best price for 4 new tires in town. The tires are rated highly. Be aware, though, that if you want their lifetime (?) tire guarantee, it costs extra, like $70 on four new tires. The customer service is stellar and the wait time minimal. The waiting room is spacious, clean and climate controlled. You can book an appointment. It took them 1/2 hour to balance and mount four new tires. My friend was thoroughly impressed with the whole deal after dealing with a local dealer for decades he said he's now switching to Discount Tire in the Weis shopping center in Martinsburg across from The Commons. Thanks, guys. read more
