Cross country road trip, starting in Syracuse, NY. Spent 2 days in Las Cruces. The morning we were leaving, we came out of breakfast and I just happened to see something shiny in the front tire. Appeared to be a nail. We headed to the closest tire place...Pep Boys. They were busy, but after telling them our story, they took us right in! They were able to repair it and we were back on the road in under an hour. We put an additional 4000 + miles on, including Monument Valley and Valley of the Gods...very rough roads. I have always been pleased with the service at this store and I'm a return customer. 1 Star because the MANAGER flat out lied to my face. I brought in my 4runner for a tire rotation. When finished the tech told me that I had a center cap missing, which I knew was there when I brought it in as my husband changed the oil and tightened the lug nuts last night. When I told the manager it was there when I brought it in, he insisted he had prepped the car and it was missing at that time. Long story short, as I was leaving, the tech Olivia ran out and told me it was in the back of the car. This review involves the 420 S. Telshor in Las Cruces, NM. Purchased 4 new Pirelli all weather tires at a cost for $1237.00 for tires & mounting and balancing. Had the tires installed yesterday (4/21/26). I received auto back with my keys after they said the job was finished. Upon inspection before I left, the new tires had all the lube and dirt on the sidewalls from the mounting process still on the tires. Since I live in Silver City NM and had a two hour drive home I figured I could clean the tires when I got home. Upon cleaning the tires, ( 1 hour labor) I also found that two of the valve stem caps had been lost in the process and not replaced. I now feel totally uncomfortable with the service provided and don't trust anything the tire tech didl. Therefore, I will be checking the torque specs on the wheels myself later today ( 1 hour labor) and will go back to the store and have the wheel balancing checked by a supervisor. This is totally unacceptable service for the cost of the new tires ($1237.00) and would strongly urge tire customers find a reputable tire shop in the area. Lee B. read more

Another great experience. Went in for tire rotation and was alerted that the tread depth was nearing the benchmark for replacement of all four. They checked the warranty on the tires and adjusted the price as the tires had worn more quickly than expected based on the mileage since purchase. Check tire light came on after the new tires were installed and I went back to have it looked at. The reset apparently didn't complete at time of installation. More than just the alignment, and took a day. So decided I needed to replace the front tires. I went online to DISCOUNT TIRES, made an appointment for next day. I looked at same time for tires to buy that matched. I didn't find them so just figured I would work it out when I got there. I showed up at 11:00 and they were ready for me, already had the information in the 'Puter. They didn't have the brand I bought there before in stock but found some that met the same specs at a great price. I bought TWO for the front. Had a lunch planned with weekly lunch group at Chili's across the parking lot next door and went to meet everyone. After lunch walked back over to DISCOUNT TIRES, went over to my car and walked around it and saw I had FOUR NEW tires. Ok, wondered what was up? Went in to get the keys and ask if they had found something I hadn't noticed. Sales repre said just a minute and Manager came out and hand me the keys. I said I notice FOUR new tires. He said Yes, the ones in back needed replacement too. I had figured they looked like they had tread and would get me by in short term. He said that they wanted me to be safe on the road so they replaced the back ones too. NO CHARGE. Just come in and pay us sometime. I mean WHO does that? This is a shout out to Andrew and his team at discount tire in Las Cruces. We were on a road trip heading towards Tucson when we had a fatal gash in the sidewall of the tire. The tires were originally bought at discount tire in a distant city and we were welcomed as if we were local customers. The correct size tire for our 21 inch wheel was not available in stock. Andrew got in touch with his distributor immediately and ordered the tire for us; saying that it would be in later in the afternoon. They put our donut spare on our SUV and we were able to have some fun in Las Cruces while waiting for our tire to arrive. Andrew gave us a ring when the tire arrived and it was promptly installed and mounted on our vehicle, and off we went. All the technicians in the shop were friendly and professional and we were able to carry on with our vacation without further drama. My front tires were getting to 2/32nds and that is the final warning till the tire is almost bald. Was busy working and not considering tires till Costco had a sale on Bridgestone. Was in ABQ at a Costco and the Tire Specialist indicated that Bridgestone wasn't the best tire and it's better to wait for Michelin or BF Goodrich to go on sale. He provided a quote printed, and I was in need of a store that would have inventory and a good price. I walked in after work to my local Discount Tire, and met Danny Cluff. He was very responsive and courteous. We looked into a couple brands and decided to get the BF Goodrich. I brought in my quote from Costco and Danny beat it! I had some new shoes on my car right before the heavy rain storms arrived. I would highly recommend Danny, and this location as they are very aggressive to earn your business. I made an appt. online after I received an email indicating my tires were ready to install. The turnaround time was only 40 mins from entering and leaving with new tires.
