Bought new tires last year with warranty coverage. Had issues with one tire twice over time. Went to LaPorte Discount Tire location both times, this time they replaced the tire (under warranty) it seamed as if they tried to get away with an old tire, worn out lettering and "x's" all over the tire. Looked like a retread, they said it was new but replaced it again, still not completely satisfied but went along with it. UPDATE: IN RESONSE TO CUSTOMER CARE You responded, but I can't respond on your reply. So here ya go....we pointed out to two of employees, one being a manager how the first replacement looked, he assured me it was new, however as a customer we expect the same quality tire that we received the first time. I'd be embarrassed as an employee or customer to add it to my vehicle. We had 3 really nice tires and then one that looked like it came from a recycle shop. SECOND UPDATE: Manager of the store called me today. Had a lengthy conversation and stated he will look into that particular tire to check it out. I had my truck lifted and I was wanting to change my rims and tires but was holding on to my old ones for dear life. I like working with my off road place for everything for my truck but they could not get me the price I was wanted to spend for premium tires. I had to go to discount tires to get the tires I wanted for the price I could afford. I came into this location and was meet by Mario. I told him what I wanted for rims and tires and he started contacting them right away to start the process and have them ship. In two weeks everything was in place. I was wanting the biggest tires I could put on but did not know what would fit the best on my truck. Mario was great. He ordered two large sets of tires to match fit my truck and get the best tires on there. Once we found the tires that would fit the best he installed them and send the extra set back. I had an appointment and got at this discount(Laporte) dealership 15 minutes early. Check in and Watched four cars pull in and get new tires before my car was pull in. I just needed a tire monitor installed but by the time discount finished I needed two more. My computer on the car said all was working fine, but when discount try to reset my monitors they wouldn't work at all. they knocked out all my information on my screen. Discount said if I put two more monitors in.... even though they're working before discounts started, it would register back on my screen. Looks like the pirate mentality at discount tires. Also, if you get a nail or some other sharp item stuck in your tire, they will fix it for free as long as it is in a fixable area of tire. They're also nice people. read more

Something to keep in mind is that these guys are in the business of selling tires. The free flat repair, balancing, and rotation are only ways to draw you in to sell another set of tires. If you are needing any type of service and roll in on anything other than a fairly new set of tires be prepared to get the sales pitch and also be prepared to be denied the service because your tires are old or some other excuse. Another thing to keep in mind is that an appointment doesn't really mean much. It doesn't put you at the front of the line in your slotted time. You will wait until everyone in front of you is done regardless of whether they had an appointment or not. read more

I so wish I could give this company a good review. Most of the young men that work here are very polite and helpful. My story goes as following... I drove in to have my air pressure checked because my 'horseshoe' light came on. Apparently, one of my tires were low because after filling them the light went out. Two days later the light was on again so I returned and was told I needed two new tires .sooo I purchase two tires. Two days later the light was on again. This time I returned I was told my 'sensor' needed a new watch sized battery as they apparently wear out every two years. I've been driving for 56 years and have never had to replace a sensor battery. When I question this.. the older 'gentleman' got rather testy and condescending as if I didn't know what I was talking about. He offered to 'visually' check my sensor and then told me that 'nope, I now needed a new sensor.. only $69.00 no labor fee. ' He then told me I could get in the 30 minute line to have my tire pressure checked again. Thanks for nothing Discount tire! I'm still driving with my 'horseshoe ' light on. I'm sorry but as my experience, as soon as an elderly woman alone comes into any type on auto repair shop Watch Out! Sad that there''s no integrity in business anymore. read more

Overall, I had a very good experience with this business. I ordered 5 new tires online that were not in stock and scheduled an appointment for installation after they would have arrived. The next day Wayne, the assistant manager, called me with options for as-good-as or better tires that were in stock and at a lower price. He was also able to work my appointment in for that day. The wait time to get my vehicle in a stall was a little longer than promised but once it was there, the installation went quickly. After checking the vehicle, they did use the correct tires and the work was satisfactory. I appreciate Wayne going above-and-beyond to assist me. I would like to add that while I was waiting, I watched the other employees interacting with customers. These associates answered questions, gave details, and acknowledged customers when the arrived; all with smiles and politeness. Maybe this was a good day or maybe it's that way most of the time. Regardless, I will be a return customer. Lest I forget, the parking lot at this particular Discount Tire is much larger than others I have gone to in the past. Definitely a plus. read more

I ALWAYS go to this location, even though it isn't the closest one. The employees are knowledgable, friendly, and efficient! They really care about their customers and they always go above and beyond. When I got a flat and had to be at Hobby in 30 minutes I explained to them that I just needed a quick fix because they were busy and I couldn't wait. They could have just slapped my donut on or added more air to the tire and sent me on my way, instead they put on a brand new tire for me in record time! They were absolutely amazing!! Another time I was having a problem with a tire and I had gone to another location. I had insurance on the tire, but instead of replacing it they patched it. THREE TIMES in two weeks I returned to that location to have that same tire patched. Finally I drove down to this location, they took one look at my tire and replaced it on the spot. They don't play games here, they look at the problem and they find you a solution immediately! At around 5:45, I hit a pothole and had my tire shredded. As a man with a 8-5 job, it's very difficult to find time to get to a repair place on usual hours, and as such I was desperate to get the repair work done that day when I was off. It took me time to get the spare on my car, and I called ahead asking when they closed. Sadly, they sat 6:00. I pleaded if there was any way I could get in, and lo and behold, when I arrived they were all locked up to head home. However, as soon as they saw me, they immediately opened the doors up to see if they could help me- sure enough, at the last second of the day, they opened up their shop to get me situated with a new tire after hours. I've been to discount tires in multiple locations and have always had great service. Since we just moved here, we thought we'd go to the closest one. When walking in, i stood at the counter for ten-fifteen minutes before I was acknowledged or helped. The guy standing in front of me was on a call. Once he hung up he asked how could he help. I explained that my tire kept having a low psi after airing it overnight for two days now. He asked what year my vehicle was and I told him we just bought the car, (mind you the paper plates were still on it), the guy asked for my keys, went to look at my car and three minutes later came inside to tell me i had to buy new tires because they were 2011 and couldn't be serviced. It's a brand new car, the tires are not from 2011, in fact you can even look at the tires and they're new. He must've thought I was stupid because I'm a girl. However, I know more about cars, my tires, etc than this guy! I asked the guy if there was a nail or something in the tire that was making it air out to which he replied "I didn't see anything, I didn't check for that!" This guy just wanted to sell me a new tire, not actually service the customer. So I came in telling you that air is leaking out and you don't go check if it needs to be patched up or what the issue is? I walked out. Never again will I go to the La Porte location. read more

They are so friendly and helpful... no questions asked (I went in about once a week until I had time to go to where I had bought my tires that were under warranty). Do not take your tires here if you have any value for your safety. I took my daughter's car here for a routine rotate and balance and repair of a tire with a nail at 3:15 pm on a Thursday. She was headed back to college 4 hours away the next day, so I wanted to make sure the tires were in good shape, which my mechanic husband said they were, I just wanted to be sure. I received a call at about 3:40 that the car was done, which was surprising, considering they were quite busy. We picked up the car and headed downtown on errands. I notice the car was a bit harder to steer after we get downtown, but don't see anything obviously amiss with the tires. On our way back from Houston around 7:30 pm, we notice the front driver side tire is making a lot of noise when it hits bumps on 225. We continue on, as my rule is to never stop on the freeway for a tire issue unless absolutely necessary. We continue home, pull into the drive, and see that the tire is completely flat. The Lord must have watched over us and allowed us to get home on this tire--the two bubbles on the inside were huge, as my husband discovered. A thorough inspection revealed that not only were the wheels scuffed excessively where there had been no scrapes before our Discount Tire rip-off session, but the tire had not been inflated after what seemed to be a repair. We drove out of this rediculous tire store on a flat tire! Also, they did not even rotate all of the tires as the man said they did, as my husband could tell one tire had not even been taken off the car (having just inspected them himself a few days ago). I can only think what might have happened if my daughter had driven straight back up to school, alone, on that ruined tire. I will NEVER trust these incompetent buffoons ever again, and I urge customers to WATCH THESE PEOPLE CLOSELY when they work on your car. Or better yet, go to Costco as I will today to replace all 4 tires, as I sure as hell can't trust the remaining tires after what these idiots did to her car. It's not even worth contacting them for some kind of resolution, as I would NEVER TRUST THEIR WORK AGAIN and my daughter's safety is more valuable than whatever these incompetent shade-tree mechanics could offer. What an amazing crew! I have to give a huge kudos to JUSTIN! I can't thank him enough for being such a huge help with my situation. I came in at closing time, literally the store was closed systems shut down and all, however he sensed my franticness and did not even hesitate to turn everything back on and assist me with a smile and a very friendly nature. I never sensed that he felt put out or frustrated with me, he was very professional and I felt as though he treated me like family. They did not have my tire in stock that day so again Justin took it to the next level. He took the time to check my spare as well as my other tires to ensure my safety on the road, ordered my tires to be available the next day and all after normal business hours! I explained that my drive from work is very far, Justin then offered to stay late the next day to be available to put my new tires on! I left today feeling as though I was completely taken care of with an elite company! This has earned my business for me and my entire household, I will never buy tires anywhere else. Best, absolute best location ever! We've been here numerous times, with every vehicle we've had for the last 10 years at least, though we've used Discount Tire for much longer. The managers and employees at this location are always friendly, and as a woman, I've never felt uncomfortable taking my cars in without my husband, as in so many other places. My husband took our oldest daughter in this evening - as a single mom, she is on a very limited budget, and she was planning on replacing only 2 tires on her car for now. One of the employees (Robert Green), examined her tires and agreed with her dad that none of her tires were safe for her to be driving on. He was able to find her two used tires (they look new to me!), and he gave them to her with her two tires that she purchased. My service man told me it could not be fixed. He told me they would put another tire on it.
