very very disappointed with the store at this location went in there at 11:30 and talk to Brian when only for a simple balance and tire rotation. Brian said it should be done about 215 or 230. Keep in mind I am from out of town so I left my truck walked around Hobbs and libra errands that I could do bye-bye foot in 100 and plus weather and I came back at 2:40. My truck hadn't even been looked at. I still had about one or two people in front of me. I had just gone to go buy groceries. Not impressed with Brian's customer service at all ... took me over 3 weeks to get a rim ordered ... said he ordered it then blamed it on someone else not ordering it. Once finally in stock I was told he would call me and let me know . Never did . Only decent thing they did was put my spare tire on but once I went back to finally get the new rim on I look in my bed and see the bad rim but no spare tire. plus where the spare tire goes was all messed up. Customer service has always been slow here. Expect to wait at least half an hour for anyone to acknowledge your presence. A recent change now is that the customer service reps have their backs to you as the customer as you walk In the door to give them your business. So when you are interacting with them, they no longer have the need to face you as they discuss business with you. Awful service bought a new tire two months ago and it came back with no balance wheel weights no valve stem caps. All I can say is just keep driving to another shop. This place SUCKS, dropped off a tire to get fixed, filled out the info they wanted and left it with them to pick up 5:00 pm the next day. Got there the next day and guy said my tire was to bad to patch, ok, why didn't you call me and tell me so we could had put on a new tire???? By far the absolute worst experience I've ever had when buying tires. I needed to get 3 new tires. (I already had one hardly worn new one, less than a year old, on the RT rear.) I'm currently staying in Denver City. I was in Hobbs one weekend already and was recommended by someone who works in Hobbs to go to Discount. (That person shall remain anonymous, so as to not bring her down along with Discount like I'm about to.) That same weekend, I ordered the 3 tires. The next weekend, I went back to Hobbs, after calling them first to make sure the tires were there. They were. I had all 3 installed. They all worked fine, for a while. I drove home that day, then I think the day after, I checked the psi on all of them. I specifically spoke to one of the guys putting on the tires that day to inflate all of them to 34. Not one of them was at 34. One was 45, another 22, and another 30. (How hard is it to get each tire to 34? I guess for them, pretty hard.) I inflated, on my own, all the tires to 34. Everything was good. For another day or two. Starting one or two days later, the LT rear tire starting ending up flat EVERY DAY after I came out of work. I would even pump it up to 45 to compensate for the rapid air loss. By the next day, it would be down to 12. OR LESS. I took the car back the following weekend. They took the tire and rim off the car, dunked it in a water tank, and showed me that the leak was coming out by a dent I have in the rim. Now, keep in mind, I NEVER had a leak when I had the older tire mounted on this same rim due to the dent. They told me it was leaking because of the dent and that I needed a new rim, which they could remount the new tire on. By pure luck, I was able to find an exact match rim at a salvage yard in Hobbs. I went back the next weekend after finding the rim and they mounted the new tire on it. Since then, it has not leaked. BUT, in the process of remounting the new rim and tire assembly back onto the LT rear hub, they cross-threaded 2 of the studs on the hub. I did not have this problem before, because the guy that remounted it previously used the manual torque wrench, NOT the pneumatic wrench. I TOLD the guys putting the wheel/tire assembly back on AS THEY WERE DOING IT that the last guy used the manual wrench, not the air gun. They proceeded to ignore me, and in the process, cross-threaded two of the studs on the hub. As "compensation," they gave me 2 free lug nuts that fit the hub. That doesn't solve a thing. If the studs are cross-threaded, the studs themselves have to be replaced, or, the entire hub, which on my particular car, costs about $170. So, to "finish" the job that day, they put 3 lug nuts, right next to each other back on the rim, instead of spreading them out to evenly distribute the "grip" of the lug nuts themselves on the rim. I proceeded to go to the Mc Donalds down the road for dinner. Fortunately, while I was pulling out of there, a guy behind me said my left rear tire was wobbling back and forth (in and out.) It's a damn good thing I didn't get right back on the road and head back to Denver City! The whole thing could have fallen off. They had BARELY tightened it, so I was on my way to the Auto Zone in Hobbs to either get new lug nuts and/or get a rethreading kit for the wheel studs. I should not have to pay for something that they damaged on their own. I should make them buy me a whole new hub for the left rear. Oh, and one of the "geniuses" that used the air wrench that day said that they "don't tighten wheel locks." WHAT?! in addition to all this, the one tire that was relatively new that I did not have to replace ended up having to be replaced anyway. I had a nail in it, right in the center of the tire, beforehand and it wasn't leaking. Around the same time I was having all this trouble with the left rear, the right rear ended up completely flat when I came out of work one day. It was at zero PSI. I had to drive it not even 1000' to the nearest gas station to reinflate it. The same day that I was there to get the 3 new tires put on (minus the right rear), they said that one had to be replaced to because the "shoulder" of the tire had been worn out. I looked at it myself. It was hardly worn on the inside, yet they refused to reuse it or patch it. I would not recommend ANYONE going to Discount Tire in Hobbs. The only reason I gave them ANY stars is that they have good customer service (on the PHONE ONLY) and their prices are lower than they are back home. Their actual work is atrocious and I would not recommend my friends, let alone a stranger, to go to them for ANYTHING! P.S. The same night I went to Auto Zone to get a rethreading kit and/or new lug nuts, a guy offered to help me in the parking lot there, and he said he had a tire put on his truck by Discount and every day he has to refill it because it wasn't mounted correctly. I don't leave reviews. But this is a special occasion as I also am a business owner and a foreman elsewhere. First off, ordering 5 new tires, (one for the spare), I had to call about three days consecutively about a week and a half later to try and find out where my tires were that were supposed to be there already per their words. Shipping is shipping, not entirely their fault. But the fourth day I skipped the call, and call the following day and I was informed, "oh they got here yesterday". The one day I didn't call, they failed to notify me as they had promised. Next, only 4 tires arrived, not the 5th. Go figure. I arrived for my scheduled appoint at 5pm for the install, they started maybe around 5:45. Not a problem, i'm patient. Everything was fine until all of a sudden there was hollering from inside the main office to the back as two people approached one another cussing in front of God, children and all, and it took myself, A CUSTOMER, to push them both back and break up what would have been a fight while about SIX people up front, worthless as can be ranging from around 20-45 yrs old sat around laughing. As if their employees aren't worth letting know, (who are also young kids), that their future is more valuable than this. Once that calmed down, only one kid who was neither manager nor apart of the problem apologized on their behalf. Good for him, pathetic for the rest. Also I asked that my 4 tires be put on and installed on my custom wheels. I brought in my 4 stock wheels for them to install my still semi new tires on, they finished at around 7:00? and go figure, the wheels I instructed to have my old tires on, have no tires on them. They had to dig them out of the BACK and put them on, and then did not even balance them. So I had to have them balance these wheels and tires, (my spare/tougher tires I swap to when on the farm), as I had paid for them too. And here I am another week and a half later, just decided to call and see if my fifth tire arrived, sure enough it did. I had no notification again. I took another tire/wheel in with me in the bed of my pickup for them to put this fifth tire on for me as my spare, (I switched from 295's to 305's and wanting all tires to match including the spare), and I again wanted my semi new tire back so i would leave with my 305 tire on my spare, and just a bare 295 tire along with it in the back of my pick up. It took awhile which wasn't the problem, the guys in the back work hard, I understand that. They finally notify me that they are finished. I walk to my pick up and what do you know, my extra still semi new tire was not in the back, again like what happened with the first installs. I had to go fetch it with some probably unstable kid who works near the front said, "he wants it back?". Um, yea dude it's a new tire still, and is for the farm why would anyone throw that away? Can't get everyone to understand what isn't hard to comprehend. Besides all of that, choose wisely and keep driving towards Lubbock or some other discount tire. This franchise owner of this area should be ASHAMED. This is a pathetic excuse of leadership and or value to work ethic. These poor kids are not being led down the right path for their future careers. Except for that one it seems who willingly took the blame and apologized even though he did nothing. Some people are just born with it. The majority here are not. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. read more

Outstanding, over above-and-beyond service here. Shaun Latham did a spectacular job getting me on the road with new tires. First off, never get a flat tire on a Sunday...everyone is closed. Discount Tire customer service on Monday morning told me they had only 3 tires of my size, but that more were arriving that day. I was under the impression the rep personally saw the tires being unloaded and he assured me they would have 8 of them when I arrived that afternoon. It turned out he was in a call center and the 8 tires weren't arriving until Wednesday. I was leaving Tuesday morning on a long distance road trip and needed the tires before leaving. Shaun contacted the Lubbock Discount Tire, found they had the tire and arranged for someone (okay, a family member that worked there) to get the tire to Hobbs that evening so that first thing Tuesday morning, before the store opened, the new tires could be installed. The guys at Discount Tire are so professional and polite and helpful. I always go away wishing I could stay cause they are so courteous and just plain nice. It's very rare to get that kind of service and respect from ALL the employees.
