I've had a couple of frustrating experiences at Discount Tire recently that have really shaken my confidence in this location. During a previous visit, the technicians reinstalled my rims but ended up damaging two of the center hub caps. These rims are expensive, and the only response I received was a simple apology. There was no real effort to address the damage or make it right. Then on another visit I came in for something very basic -- a fix-a-flat. Before they even started, the employee who greeted us began inspecting other parts of my truck like the wiper blades and generally looking over the vehicle as if he were doing a full inspection. At first I didn't think much of it, but later they told me one of my rims supposedly had a surface crack and said they would have to tow my vehicle unless I purchased a new set of wheels. The whole situation felt uncomfortable and unnecessarily pressured. I came in for a simple repair and instead felt like I was being pushed toward an expensive purchase. Between the damage done to my rims on a previous visit and the pressure during the most recent one, it's hard to trust bringing my vehicle back here. read more

Made an appointment to get a slow leak repaired and was happy to find that there was a line devoted to people with appointments. I was concerned that there was no nail or damage evident. They ended up opening the tire and finding it on the inside, and with some extra work patched it up and rebalanced it at no cost. Great job guys, and thanks! read more

If it was up to me I would put 0 stars but in order to post I have to put a star. A star not deserved. I went today had an appointment at 10am. Arrived at 9:40am for a balance and rotation. As I walked in another gentleman asked "how long is the balance and rotation wait time". The worker answered "1 hour". I checked in and waited i was told my vehicle would be next in line for service. I kept checking the status on my vehicle via phone "still in bay" "will be done by 10:45am". At 10:40 the man who did not have an appointment and was a walk in leaves with his vehicle done. I get up to check my vehicle still in the same parking spot at 10:50. I talked to a worker and as I was talking to him another worker brings my vehicle in to do the balance and rotation at 11:00. The worker just kept brushing me off did not want to hear about the appointment I had or how another gentleman came in at the same time I did and leave before me. I don't understand why make an appointment if I can just walk in and get faster service and they advertise that you will receive "faster" service. I don't recommend discount tire anymore because the service has gone down hill never again I rather go pay and get better service. read more

I went in for a patch on the rear tire ,and they ruined the tire,so they wanted to replace the tire with a new tire and on my vehicle the ride would be off balance,I have staggered tires.So when they replace the tire ,they scratched the rim,they couldn't balance the rim,they scratched my car,they scratched all 3 other rims,and payed nothing for repairs.Stay away from this place,they are not trained to even balance your tires,they rush you out,try to profit as quickly as possible.They will not patch a tire for you,they want to purchase a tire ,so they damage the tire.Til this day no one has called to repair the scratch on my car,I had to rebalance the rims back a the dealership,very poor Service,I'm looking into suing them for damages read more

Rating ZERO Be careful if you do business with Discount Tire in Harlingen on frontage rd. I went in this morning to remove something in my tire and patch/plug the hole. After the rep got the info from vehicle. The rep started trying to sell me a new tire. He said the tires were old, they didn't have that same tire, they can't get the same tire. Then showed me over make tires. He even went to the extent of trying to saying I may have to get another spare because it may to old. This was if the replacement tire was needed if they didn't have a tire I wanted in stock. This was all even before they looked at the tire with something in it or even looked at the spare tire. My vehicle was still in the parking lot after arriving 10 minutes earlier. Needless to say after waiting there for well over an hour my vehicle got looked at. you guessed it they hole in the tire couldn't be and they could get the spare off the vehicle. They gave me lended spare for $25. After asking for my tire with hole to be put in my truck because they didnt put in the bed of the vehicle. I took the tire with hole to another local tire shop and they fixed like it was no big issue. I returned to discount tire and spoke to the rep. He was surprised when I returned with there lended spare off the rim to give back. None of the other reps or manger seemed to want to converse with me once they became aware of what happen. They approved return of there lender spare and gave me the $25 back seemed like to get me on my way. One of there selling tactics is to throw a lot of info at you so you can't think through everything and try to make you feel stuck to have to buy from them. read more

Our tire sensor was blinking often on on the trip to South Padre Island , so we stopped at discount tire in Harlingen and they checked all of our sensors and tires and corrected the issue. We are very grateful for all of their assistance and for all of their help. They were fast efficient and friendly. read more

Great service from the friendly greeting to the help with tire selection to the loading of the old tires into the car. We love that their service is honored at all locations and the we are treated the same each time. I hate buying tires but when I do these guys make me happy. read more

The customer service here is great. I've been here twice. The first time we got here about 30 mins til closing unfortunately but the associate went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. We felt so bad we made them stay an hour past closing but they were so nice about it. The 2nd time a man name Nicholas greeted us and shook our hand when we arrived. He took his time to assess what kind of tires we needed. This place is sometimes busy but they have plenty of room and comfy chairs to wait on and they offer you water while you wait. read more

Usually very good prices, selection and service, but always seem to be pushing something. I brought my 2003 Buick Rendezvous in to get the free tire rotation and balancing after buying tires in California, and they tried to shame me into buying new wheels. It's an ugly vehicle, granted, but this 60 year old guy did not appreciate them chuckling at my stock wheels. It's just a ride to me, not going to trick it out. That was last year. Today, trying to sell me new tires since a couple are wearing uneven. All tread is well within their safety guidelines. These are 70,000 mile Michelin's with about 30,000 miles on them. Amazing service, helped me through the process when I got a flat tire out of town. Tire was beyond repair, got damaged by a pipe that punctured the tire. They helped us out and we were back on the road in 30 minutes, I'm so grateful for their help. Not pushy at all and gave me multiple options to get us going again.
