I drove in just before closing time yesterday , thinking it was just low on air on my tire but they found a screw in it . These guys were terrific. I pulled in having a huge screw in my tire to have it repaired. The tires are pretty new but I thought they would ding me for a brand new tire anyway. Much to my surprise they fixed the tire - for FREE - made sure that it was balanced and checked the air pressure on all four tires plus the spare that they put back in the trunk. These guys were professional, polite and very efficient. And the culture of the location seems to be teamwork because these guys were working together as I was waiting I noticed how well the guys in the shop worked as a team. To start: I had an appointment but still waited 90 minutes due to an error by an employee. After it got sorted out I was approached by the manager, Justin. Justin expressed a concern for my situation, and apologized for the mistake on behalf of his employees and staff. Today's service call was a free tire checkup, but Justin put a labor credit on my account for any future labor costs, which would be performed free of charge. While I'm upset I had to wait 90 minutes just to be seen with an appointment; Justin owned the mistake and rectified it. It's rare to find someone to unabashedly take ownership of the entire situation, and I respect Justin for this ownership, as well as his patience in dealing with me in my foul mood. read more

I brought my car here to have two new tires installed on my front wheels (which were purchased elsewhere). As soon as I told Philip (sales rep) that I already had the tires, he became very short with me and confrontational as to why I had not purchased them through Discount Tire. After they began working on the car, he returned and told me that both of my rear tires were severely damaged and recommended that I replace them as well. He did not explain the issue or show me the tires, so I was very skeptical. I later confirmed that this was blatantly false (confirmed by my local dealership after my visit). In addition to both of these issues, they charged me more than double what another local discount tire charged my son for installation of new tires. Slightly more expensive than NTB..... With a manufacturer rebate I didn't feel ripped off. They took about one and a half hours to install 4 new tires and when I drove home I could tell that they weren't fully inflated. They have a policy of matching any competitors price within 30 days but they only tell you that if you argue about the price. read more

Up Sell, Up Sell, Up Sell! From the moment I checked in it was one sales pitch after the next. They were constantly spinning the cost around offering some trade in tire discounts, blah, blah, blah. When I went back in to pay for the two new tires I was sold, I was told that "to be honest with you, I don't need your tire (to sell back to Discount Tire.") I was on my way to a funeral when my tire indicator said my left rear tire was low. I had a Cadillac Escalade and it had 22inch rims. I didn't know the town and I went to four places and no one could fix it because they didn't have the equipment to repair the tire and if it needed a tire they didn't have it. At least I was able to get air put in it so I could find a place. At the last place I tried they referred me to Discount tire. I had already spent an hour driving around so what's one more try. Best stop I made. Michael Palumbo greeted me. He was so nice. I told him as I was almost in tears, that I am on my way to a funeral and I have my 87 year old Mother-in-law with me. Can he please help us. He made me feel at home and let me know that if they couldn't fix it they would have another tire. Great. We waited and to his word we were out of there in an hour. They were able to fix the tire. Here's the best part. They didn't even charge us! I said are you sure? He said yes, that's what we do. I was like wow! He just took so much stress out of our day. They didn't have to do that. It's nice to know that even at at National chain you can get good hometown customer service and people who really care. Michael went above and beyond for us. Thank you. Free tire check and free air check. Yes, um, free! So that is worth five stars in and of itself, but the staff was jewels. I went in because there was a nail in my tire. I expected to buy a new tire because I did not think it could be fixed. The staff looked at it and took time ti discuss several options. While a new tire is always an option, they recommended a repair and also offered a replacement offer that was too cheap to pass up. This amount includes towing costs to the nearest DT within a certain amount of miles. There was no pressure but they also provided me with an estimate of tire replacement without the package. The total was about $1300 from the dealer and $800 -900 with them. Needless to say I paid for the replacement & repair package to have piece of mind. It also makes scraping the curb less stressful. They are covered!!!! Whoo Hoo! But seriously, the offer free rotations and air pressure checks. They are quick and open 6 days a week. They close at 5p on Saturday and they are closed on Sunday. It is first tire place I have been to that does not pressure you to replace your tires when replacement is not needed. I wish I had found this type of place years ago. I got my tires changed here and the next day my wheel started shaking. I came back in to resolve the issue in case it was due to the original tire change. They gave me a call and said that it would be approximately $300 for other issues that were wrong with my car. When i asked what was wrong with the car, the worker said "he doesn't have a crystal ball to see what has gone wrong with the car". Made a oil change appointment for 3 pm online two days ago. Arrived 7 minutes ahead of schedule. Some guy off the street drives in 4 minutes after me with no appointment. He says he is in a hurry and they do his car before mine. Finally at 3:45 they pulled my car in to do the oil change. Not cool. Will not be returning for any service after that experience. First off I had 12:30 appointment I waited till 1:20 for them to even pull my car in. Than as I was driving home I realized they failed to give me back my wheel lock. Next get home new tires so dirty they didn't bother to wipe them off. Literally had stuff all over them. NOTE: OUR REVIEW STARTS WITH OUR EXPERIENCE AT 'COSTCO' and ENDS WITH OUR EXPERIENCE AT DISCOUNT TIRE :) After seeing a "promotional special" for certain tires ($70 off Bridgestone, plus 1 cent installation - yes we know this is built into the price somehow), I took my car in to purchase new tires, knowing in advance I would have to make an appointment. By chance, I had taken the quote I had received a day earlier (from St. Charles Costco - I was out that direction at the time) on my tires into this Bloomingdale location, as this location is closer to home. I knew the prices would be roughly the same, give or take a few dollars due to tax differentials. The clerk at the desk was not rude per se, but he made some snarky remark of, "well why didn't you just get the tires put on in St. Charles?" I explained I had gotten the quote for my tires at the St. Charles location because I was out that way, and my plan was to shop around and get a few prices before coming here. Long story short, he could not take our order because "the Bridgestone tire site was down", because of the supposed influx of customers wanting to cash in on the deal. He told us that we could order the tires online from home, make sure they are shipped to the Bloomingdale store location, and then he would make me an appointment (10 days later was the earliest appointment) to then have them installed. We just said okay, and walked out. Not necessarily HIS fault, but you would think Costco would have a better solution and better preparation for this problem other than to turn customers away and tell them to go on the Bridgestone site from home later on, and order/purchase the tires from home. I mean come on...talk about turning away valuable business. BEST PART: We took our car one mile away to Discount Tire by Stratford Mall. We gave them our quote and Discount gave us the same exact tires, with the same exact perks, for the same exact price Costco quoted us. To top it off, they said they could do our car today "in under an hour". After walking around Stratford mall a bit, our car was done in literally 45 minutes. Terrific customer service. Glad we went here..! Our point: Think twice about buying tires from Costco, and it is always good policy to shop around for prices anyhow - and WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND DISCOUNT TIRE. I use to go to this discount tire when I use to leave in the area 5 years ago with good service. Went to visit my daughter for the Holidays who still leaves in this area and she said she didn't have a good experience the last time she was at this store. I said I'll bring her car in for a slow air leak in her tire/wheel and so I called and remembered a Bill answer when he said distinct voice, "blah blah blah Billlllll speaking". I mentioned I have a tire with a slow leak and he said well if you bring it in before we close they will have to look at it and fix it. I dropped the car off with about 1.5 hours left before they closed 2 hours later I got a call and said i can pickup my daughters car. I got there and the lights were all dimmed and everyone was leaving. Went to the front counter and the guy said they couldn't find the leak and didn't know why it was leaking. I thought to myself they're a tire place and they can't find out a tire leak? They were all in a rush to leave and so I didn't pursue further. What a waste of time. If they were too busy then tell the customer over the phone they don't have the time or they're too busy with 2 hours left before they close instead of telling me to come in before they close. The next day I brought my daughter's car to another discount tire by my work and they fixed the leak (valve core) in 1 hour. I took my car in to get a flat repaired. Jorge was great but when I went to pick it up, the tires weren't rotated, the spare wasn't returned, and the jack (which was put away when I brought it in) was in the trunk along with the tire iron. It's almost like they took it out to put the spare back and then just said screw it. Not only that, but I got there as they were pulling it out and they blasted my horn for a solid 3 seconds apparently to try and scare the guy in the shop. It doesn't give me a lot of confidence in what they're doing when someone's not looking if thats how they act when people are obviously around and clearly they know I'll see the tires aren't rotated and the spare and other parts aren't put back. I debated calling them to tell them they didn't rotate my tires and about the spare but it's not worth it because there's no way I'd bring a vehicle back there. read more
