I've had a couple of really difficult years, and it honestly meant a lot to have someone take the time to listen and treat me with genuine kindness and understanding. These two guys really work hard in what I'm sure can be a very stressful environment, and they still took the time to make sure I was taken care of. That meant a lot to me. Be VERY Leary with the pricing from this place. I took my…read moreRam 1500 in to have the muffler rewelded and the bearings on the front inspected. They lifted the front end and said the bottom bearings were starting to go bad (which probably are). They estimated a cost of over $1,000.00 to fix and align the wheels. Then they put it on a lift and said the muffler could not be rewelded and would need to be replaced at an estimated cost of $475.00. I had the mufflered wired in place due to an accident that broke the wield. Jim Craig removed the wire and put it back on the bracket even though I told him the bracket was broken but he assured me, it would be ok until I could bring the truck back in next week. Well needless to say, I didn't make it home before the muffler hit the ground. This place is not trustworthy and may inflate their prices for select customers. I've gotten a second opinion $700.00 for the bearings and alignment and $50 to reweld the unwieldable muffler. BIG difference in $750.00 verses $1,470.00. Shame on them.

(I avoid shopping anywhere that has the word "discount" in its name; it usually means cheap, shoddy, made-in-China goods.) However I had been unable to find ANY tires anywhere that fit my Toyota FJ Cruiser "Trail Teams" special edition, until I checked with them. The Discount Tire service manager with whom I dealt, Justin, was extraordinarily helpful, and clearly possessed remarkable expertise when it came to tires. The only reason I didn't give them all five stars is because, after they had mounted the tires and were handing me back the keys to drive home, it turned out that they had forgotten to perform the alignment I had already paid for. (One pays ahead for the alignment, and then that cost is refunded if it turns out that it's not needed -- which is fine -- but my rig definitely needed it, and they simply forgot about it.) That meant that I had to "get back in line" for a car lift to open up in their shop, and they were VERY busy and crowded the day I was there, so I had to wait an extra half-hour. No big deal, but they just need to be more careful about such things. I highly recommend Discount Tire without reservation.

The employees did not ask that the customers to wear their masks properly. I watched multiple employees from the shop in the back walk to the front lobby area and they did not have a mask on. I only watched one shop employee put a mask on before he walked inside the lobby.

I called about 5 hours later to check the status and was told oil change had been completed and waiting to check brakes. A few minutes later I was contacted that my car was ready with no problems found. He explained that there was over 60% of the pads left in the front and 80% on the rear. That would be fantastic news if the brakes didn't grind! They test drove and couldn't duplicate the problem. The problem did continue for me driving home. I appreciate they didn't want to do work that wasn't necessary, but service advisor did not care to listen to what I thought might possibly cause the noise. I explained my car had previously been in an accident and had front suspension parts replaced. I suggested it might possibly be a loose pad or calipers loose or hanging up but he blew it off as a sensor. I didn't get the feeling that my problem was worth looking at beyond checking the pads for thickness and diagnosis fee. I basically was charged 204.00 for an oil change including their 3.5% credit card use included. After using my debit card I noticed the fee so changed and wrote a check for 197.00. Maybe it's me, a little confusing thinking debit card is the same as cash (most places). They did however only refund 197.00 of the 204.00 charged. So we are back to 204.00 for an oil change (to be fair, I got my preferred oil) and to be told my brakes are great. I have had people recommend your shop to me in the past and decided to give your shop a try with my brakes issue, but will never recommend or be back. Enjoy your 7 bucks credit card fee you kept, it will give me enjoyment in telling everyone I can of my experience and waste of time and money using your business. Update: I did reach out to Doug, but after emailing back and forth I am unsure he understands my frustrations of getting my brake problem blown off. It was my understanding I was paying for a true evaluation of what is causing the grinding noise. What I received is a free tire store look at the remaining brake pads. My option is they just don't care to do anything beyond the quick and easy $$, or care to listen to their customers. I never plan to return, trust is gone.
