Don't go with this company!!! It took 2 months for them to do 8 hours of work. We called a few times to get an update and voice some questions. Amanda answered and was totally disrespectful and full of excuses, never called to let us know when they were going to come. When they did show up there was no call. They just showed up. There is a total lack of communication between everyone at this company. On each of the two days that they did show up ( always unannounced ) to work the two guys worked for about 3 hours and then left with no word of when they would be back. That's 2 months longer than they told us it would take, and after that the workmanship was not that good. I really regret having Discount Fence do this work for me. We have had issues with our vinyl fence from pretty much day one. We never got a phone call as to when work going on during the process. They would just show up on their time and disappear without notice. I understand that there are obstacles that are not seen by the naked eye. Apparently there was a rock in the corner of the fence line but a knock on the door or a phone call from the owner to address the situation for they both knew about it. I would have removed it on my own if we would have know about it for I have the means. The only time the owner came out is when someone in the office told him that we were not paying the balance due. He first started off a bit rough with that miscommunication. Not a good first impression. When I asked about the dip and bowed out corner he brought up the rock situation. Apparently the installer sent him a photo whenI asked to see it, he couldn't show me. There are ways around that but his installer who he said is no longer work for them did not know how apparently. But he said that he would fix it but at our cost. Not very professional. They have been called out three more time to put the fence back together from where it was not attached correctly. Before the last time we called the office for over a month to fix their problem. Missy said that the delay is that they had to order a new top rail, funny since the supply house is in town here. In the end there is no new top rail just the same one with now more with new scratches jamming it back in. Not sure if I am more upset with the work or the unprofessional handling by the owners. We were able to design everything we wanted and get that into the agreement. Earned first star. 2. Cost: reasonable. Earned second star. 3. Scheduling and adherence to planned days & times. Schedule has been setup and planned to be started and completed w/in a week duration (worth one star). 4. Execution Quality (worth two stars). The quality of the fence, once completed, was good...but dealing with the company was so bad, I can't in good conscious give them two stars. Did they come when they said they would? No. Did they call to let us know when their schedule changed? No. it was all on us to contact them and find out what happened and when they were planning to reschedule. We ordered fencing and a solar gate. On the day they were supposed to start on the gate, they didn't show up... we called to find out why, and they told us the gate was back-ordered. We told them to cancel the gate, and they said we couldn't cancel unless we wanted to pay for the gate... so we set up a date for them to put the gate in. The day before they were supposed to install, we called to make sure they were coming, and they said they'd cancelled the order... but forgot to mention they were charging us a $500 cancellation fee for the extra work it took them to cancel. In the course of disputing this egregious charge for making a cancellation call, they added a late fee of $271 and threatened to put a lien on our property if we didn't pay it. We are paying the $500 and writing reviews to let as many people know as we can that this company lacks integrity. read more

Was really Impressed with the appearance of a fence they did nearby. Despite poor reviews I called for an estimate, the girl who answered said they don't do residential, but then wanted to know what size my yard was. I gave her the dimensions, she asked her boss. Their solution is for me to send another company's bid, along with pictures so they can work up an estimate over email. Never mind... I'll find a company that has time for its customers. read more

Discount Fence installed my aluminum fence. I am so happy with my Fence, they did a great job!! My lawn service broke a hinge on a big gate and they are fixing the hinge without any cost to me! No one EVER showed up to do our estimate...twice!!! They must have sooo much business that they can't even be bothered to give potential new customers the time of day. I reached out to Discount Fence for an estimate on getting both a wood and chain link fence installed at our home. I filled out the online form and received a reply email within a day and an appointment was scheduled. An estimator was to be at our home between 10am and 2pm. We waited and no one ever showed up and no communication from the company until I reached out to let them know that we were stood up. They apologized and scheduled a new appointment a week later. Again, an estimator was to arrive at our home between 10 and 2 and NO ONE showed up. DO NOT do business with Discount Fence. read more

Missy needs to go back to working for the government. They were referred to me by 'home advisor' which itself is a joke. When I told them I wasn't interested based on their reviews, this is what I got: I can appreciate that. I hope you look further than home advisor for reviews about us such as Facebook and Google. We usually have very positive reviews and have had a couple of poor reviews on Home Advisor that do not reflect all of the positive reviews an great fences we have built. If you do not decide to have us come in and do an estimate I understand. I hope you realize that when you asked us to do an estimate through Home Advisor we paid for the opportunity to do one for you regardless of whether or not you choose to take advantage of it. I would like the chance to give you an estimate at least and then if you are not interested in working with us would understand. I would just express to you that small businesses such as us do pay for that opportunity and not being given the opportunity to at least show you our capabilities hits the bottom line pretty hard. Hmmm... glad you decided against an estimate because you need to learn people skills. I wasn't making you out to be the bad guy but now that I think about it, you are the bad guy because you didn't do your homework first nor did you read the notice HomeAdvisor gives you about being contacted by the contractors. We get to decide not to have you for a customer and that is awesome. You probably should learn to read reviews before asking a company to do an estimate where they clearly tell you they will be contacting you. Good luck getting a fence Oh, we will. We are the ones who pay after all. Not you. So we are their customer and they give us a fair shake unlike people like you who don't give people a fair shake but expect one to be given to you. Requested quote for fence on north and south sides of our house. Someone came out on 1 June and took some notes/measurements. Said we should receive estimate in about a week. Six weeks later we received nothing but someone called and asked if we were still interested? We told them we were and that we had receiced nothing from them. They said they must have overlooked sending it and would e-mail an estimate that day. Two weeks later we had still received nothing but then got a letter in the mail with a yellow copy of an "estimate" that was mostly illegible and contained no cost or materials estimates whatsoever. A totally useless page. Spoke to someone on the phone the day I received the yellow page and they said it must have been another error. I told them my opinion of the company at this point and that I was planning to warn other potential customers. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

I'm having nothing but the run around from this company. I went over the plans with David the site foreman. He seemed nice and had decent communication. There was a misunderstanding of where the posts would go so there were some issues in where the posts were initially put. Next snafu was when the holes were dug, they hit a water line that ended up costing me $300 to fix. It wasn't on them because the small fine print of the contract says that the customer must: Clearly identify corners, end and gates, mark any underground utilities and obtain any necessary permits, approvals or engineering. Also in the contract, acceptance means the customer agrees to assume full responsibility for fence location and at the sole cost and expense to defend and hold harmless DF against any and all claims for work described within the contract. That being said, fence finally put in and it was to be "dog friendly" aka low to ground and super tight. First time dogs were out, they both army crawled under the fence. Next issue came when the first meter reading post-fence happened. Guess that the contractor DF didn't put the fence out to code of 36". After several phone calls/emails over a span of time, the office lady was the one to break the news that they need $1400 to move the fence to code and that they will use my "code" conversation to learn for other installs. Of course any rectify of the wrong build is out of my pocket because it was my job to clearly mark out the utilities portions. I'm not happy and I do NOT recommend this company to anyone. What appears to be a decent contract and good feeling in the beginning will bite you in the butt in the end. Heed my warning and stay clear! read more

Larry, the owner, was very nice and accommodating. He's professional through and through. We told him what we wanted, chain link with slats, he did the measurements and gave us a quote on the spot. He said the job was about 3 weeks out and they showed up within the week. I had first wanted a 4' fence and changed my mind to a 6'. This didn't faze him he said sure no problem. The first crew came out and set the poles. The second crew came out not longer and installed the back of the yard portion and both side gates. After looking at it we decided we wanted the slats facing in towards us so as not to see the chain fence. Again Larry said no problem he'll have them fix it. Another crew came out and reversed the fence. It looked fantastic. We then again chained our mind and had an additional gate to the fence so that we could access the remaining 6' of our property. Larry again said not a problem. After all was said and done and all of the pet safe poles were tack welded in to close the gaps we were very happy with the job. Now our little man Skittles can roam the yard in complete safety. Barring very few timing issues, because I'm a very impulsive and inpatient person the job was done professionally and looks fantastic.
